Amen! I think Randy's riffage in many ways is very reminiscent of we know heavy metal, even modern metal today: heavily palm muted open strings, fast sixteenth notes etc., whereas I consider "old school" metal as "jam-y" and "bluesy" ala Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, older Whitesnake etc.
The young generation is the future of old school metal I'm born in 2003 and play some old school Slayer and Metallica on bass I'm shopping for an nice Glam Metal shredder of an guitar for I can play some riffs from Blizzard of Oz and early Glam Metal Pantera
Sounds better with 2 amps sounds a bit thin with one had an original MXR Disnortion + never heard a pedal sound like that, this reissued is not quite the same, lacks bottom
I saw Randy 2 months before he passed away. I was 17 and already a big fan of EVH. Randy blew me away and I went to school and proclaimed him the best guitarist around. I haven’t deviated too far from that opinion. To this day, the real tragedy of Randy’s passing is that he was just scratching the surface of his immense talent. His love for classical music and theory was going to connect him to an a new audience. I get chills thinking of what he might have done. Watching you gives me chills because other than your hair color, I feel like you capture his essence. Best of luck. I hope to see you play somewhere near Texas soon.
Finally, a real Randy disciple that can play this pedal. Great job. You have his playing down. I have been very disappointed by all the guys that bought these to flip them. The demos have been horrid. They should sell insurance.

Same saw Randy Rhoads with Ozzy with zMotorhead opening 4/23/1981 he even played a Hamer checkerboard Explorer for one song, I never saw a picture or heard a word mentioned about that guitar. He was pretty fn awesome.
I think that's a GREAT idea! And this guy should play the part of Randy in it, you couldn't find anyone else who can 'actually' play Randy's stufd, and still have Randy's 'likeness'. Somebody with the bread, GET TO IT!! And 'Somebody Get Me A Doctor" while yoy're doin' that! 70s & 80s Rock & Metal, lots of good music from that time. Influences what I write and play today, after all these years still, and I'm in my 50s!! Keep goin', Kid, you "got it by the short & curlies", as my Dad woulda said. Keep improving, just like Randy and all the Pros did!
When you're playing the verse in Diary of a Madman, don't use your index on the 4th fret of the B string, use your middle finger and when you transition don't lift it, it sounds so much cleaner that way man, trust Edit: I'm absolutely in love with your whole setup man, super badass man. Also I dig the hair man I've been tryna grow mine out like that myself

He had such amazing knowledge of the guitar and was just starting down the classical road to his sound. Randy will forever be the king of guitar in my eyes

I went so many different directions with styles and tones but this video showed me something….how brilliant of a composer Randy was! Watching you play his parts accurately like very accurately haha I realized just how complex his composition was. Like you can play Panama while watching a stripper to the right with a Marlboro hanging out your mouth but if you’re going to be playing Over The Mountain then you’d better be paying attention! I have been a huge fan of RR since he joined Ozzy in 1980 and just missed him live when Ozzy came to town for my first Ozzy show in late May 1982 on Diary tour. (Do the math. That's 2 months after the fateful day). Anyway, all this to say... The amps, the guitars, the board, the looks... God I love the hair man. Keep it going... R.I.P Randy... long live Damiano!!!
Just discovered your Channel. Nice chops! I remember when Randy first joined Ozzy back in the 80's. All my guitar friends and I loved hearing not only his shredding but also his song and riff writing abilities. To us, he was on a different and higher level than what we'd heard before. He put his being into all of his music. I got to see him twice Atlanta, Ga. It really broke our hearts when we heard the news of his passing. So happy to see younger people emulating him. Love the demo! The mxr d plus is how i ended up meeting randy. They forgot his pedal board and he asked me if anyone had a mxr d plus he could borrow. I had friends in 3 of the opening bands and was also taking lessons from George lynch at a record store. I told him id look for one. I walked into a room to tell him i couldn't find one and asshole Kevin started going off telling me to get the fck out. I tried to explain but ended up in a shouting match and walked out. Randy came out i was pissed and yelled at him asking what the fck is Kevin's problem. He apologized i calmed down but still wanted to kick Kevin's ass. That's how i met randy🙂 my friend Ryan worked at charvel and worked on the concord
Dude back in 1982 was in high school and everyone was quiet especially the metalheads and i asked a guy why is everyone quiet? He said randy died yesterday,thought he was a student and he said no he was ozzys guitar player,he was killed in a plane crash,he handed me his walkman and said listen to this,i hit play and crazy train came on,i felt instant sadness the rest of the day,so talented and raw,leslie west was randys guy,so many musicians were/are influenced by randy and zakk is obviously influenced by him,you should have alot more subs than under 3 thousand,you got another one from this guy lol

I had tickets to see Ozzy with Randy in Louisville KY. He passed and the guy from Night Ranger played and did a good job for not being Randy. It was sad.
I was at band rehearsal when a friend called and said he had a bunch of tickets to see ozzy and Randy that night. I was having a good time rehearsing, so I said we'll catch him next time. There was no next time. Massive regret.
The Jackson sounded great! (But of course, they all did.) I never got a chance to see RR. The first time I saw Ozzy, Brad Gillis had taken over. The second time I saw him, Jake E Lee was playing.
I saw Randy/Ozzy Blizzard of Oz tour '81 at the Long Beach Arena. I had my ticket stub for decades, but eventually lost it. BTW, it was my first concert.

If you haven’t seen Damiano play live in his Randy tribute, definitely gotta make it priority. He will give you flashbacks for sure! Best Randy tribute throughout time and space. And I say that after 30 years of studying and playing Randy’s riffs. When this kid hit the local scene, I stopped playing so much Randy! lol he’s got it lockdown. Just my humble opinion That old Marshall sounds awesome as well!🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
whenever rhoads was playing live he always sounded like he had a wah pressed down because some notes would be higher harmonics but thats whats so pretty and unique about his tone
What you’re hearing there is those Altec 417-8h speakers he had in all his cabinets that are hard to find nowadays! Sadly I don’t have those, Randy was also a very heavy player according to Rudy Sarzo, a lot of that tone came from his picking hand and using slight pinch harmonics to sweeten his tone IMO

@@DamianoChristian Randy hated Celestions. I remember in the early 90's you could pick up those Altec 417 H or C speakers for less than a hundred bucks a pop. They definitely have a more aggressive ripping sound than Rola Celestions.

The Jackson sounded great! (But of course, they all did.) I never got a chance to see RR. The first time I saw Ozzy, Brad Gillis had taken over. The second time I saw him, Jake E Lee was playing.

I saw Randy/Ozzy Blizzard of Oz tour '81 at the Long Beach Arena. I had my ticket stub for decades, but eventually lost it. BTW, it was my first concert.

If you haven’t seen Damiano play live in his Randy tribute, definitely gotta make it priority. He will give you flashbacks for sure! Best Randy tribute throughout time and space. And I say that after 30 years of studying and playing Randy’s riffs. When this kid hit the local scene, I stopped playing so much Randy! lol he’s got it lockdown. Just my humble opinion

whenever rhoads was playing live he always sounded like he had a wah pressed down because some notes would be higher harmonics but thats whats so pretty and unique about his tone
What you’re hearing there is those Altec 417-8h speakers he had in all his cabinets that are hard to find nowadays! Sadly I don’t have those, Randy was also a very heavy player according to Rudy Sarzo, a lot of that tone came from his picking hand and using slight pinch harmonics to sweeten his tone IMO

@@DamianoChristian Randy hated Celestions. I remember in the early 90's you could pick up those Altec 417 H or C speakers for less than a hundred bucks a pop. They definitely have a more aggressive ripping sound than Rola Celestions.
