Amen! I think Randy's riffage in many ways is very reminiscent of we know heavy metal, even modern metal today: heavily palm muted open strings, fast sixteenth notes etc., whereas I consider "old school" metal as "jam-y" and "bluesy" ala Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, older Whitesnake etc.

The young generation is the future of old school metal I'm born in 2003 and play some old school Slayer and Metallica on bass I'm shopping for an nice Glam Metal shredder of an guitar for I can play some riffs from Blizzard of Oz and early Glam Metal Pantera

I saw Randy 2 months before he passed away. I was 17 and already a big fan of EVH. Randy blew me away and I went to school and proclaimed him the best guitarist around. I haven’t deviated too far from that opinion. To this day, the real tragedy of Randy’s passing is that he was just scratching the surface of his immense talent. His love for classical music and theory was going to connect him to an a new audience.
I get chills thinking of what he might have done. Watching you gives me chills because other than your hair color, I feel like you capture his essence. Best of luck. I hope to see you play somewhere near Texas soon.

I think that's a GREAT idea! And this guy should play the part of Randy in it, you couldn't find anyone else who can 'actually' play Randy's stufd, and still have Randy's 'likeness'. Somebody with the bread, GET TO IT!! And 'Somebody Get Me A Doctor" while yoy're doin' that! 70s & 80s Rock & Metal, lots of good music from that time. Influences what I write and play today, after all these years still, and I'm in my 50s!! Keep goin', Kid, you "got it by the short & curlies", as my Dad woulda said. Keep improving, just like Randy and all the Pros did!

Man what a great video! Thank you so much. Randy was my guy from day one! My brother went with the other guy haha! I went so many different directions with styles and tones but this video showed me something….how brilliant of a composer Randy was! Watching you play his parts accurately like very accurately haha I realized just how complex his composition was. Like you can play Panama while watching a stripper to the right with a Marlboro hanging out your mouth but if you’re going to be playing Over The Mountain then you’d better be paying attention! Thanks for a great video and reminding me of the brilliance of Randy Rhoads!

I am so glad to see you and others carrying the flame for a man who was such a massive influence of that generation of players who didn't want to jump on the EVH band wagon. I have been a huge fan of RR since he joined Ozzy in 1980 and just missed him live when Ozzy came to town for my first Ozzy show in late May 1982 on Diary tour. (Do the math. That's 2 months after the fateful day). Anyway, all this to say... The amps, the guitars, the board, the looks... God I love the hair man. Keep it going... R.I.P Randy... long live Damiano!!!

I had friends in 3 of the opening bands and was also taking lessons from George lynch at a record store. I told him id look for one. I walked into a room to tell him i couldn't find one and asshole Kevin started going off telling me to get the fck out. I tried to explain but ended up in a shouting match and walked out. Randy came out i was pissed and yelled at him asking what the fck is Kevin's problem. He apologized i calmed down but still wanted to kick Kevin's ass. That's how i met randy🙂 my friend Ryan worked at charvel and worked on the concord

If you haven’t seen Damiano play live in his Randy tribute, definitely gotta make it priority. He will give you flashbacks for sure! Best Randy tribute throughout time and space. And I say that after 30 years of studying and playing Randy’s riffs. When this kid hit the local scene, I stopped playing so much Randy! lol he’s got it lockdown. Just my humble opinion
That old Marshall sounds awesome as well!🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

whenever rhoads was playing live he always sounded like he had a wah pressed down because some notes would be higher harmonics but thats whats so pretty and unique about his tone

What you’re hearing there is those Altec 417-8h speakers he had in all his cabinets that are hard to find nowadays! Sadly I don’t have those, Randy was also a very heavy player according to Rudy Sarzo, a lot of that tone came from his picking hand and using slight pinch harmonics to sweeten his tone IMO

Thank you so much! To me the polka dot sounds the lowest output out of the 3 guitars but still nails the tone, I think the Concorde got it the closest 🤘🎸

@@DamianoChristian Randy hated Celestions. I remember in the early 90's you could pick up those Altec 417 H or C speakers for less than a hundred bucks a pop. They definitely have a more aggressive ripping sound than Rola Celestions.

I knew I have seen you somewhere before. I was thinking you were the guitarist for Blizzard of Ozz band. You are badass brother. Spot on with the cover tunes brother. Keep these videos coming. This pedal seem spot on with Rhoads tone. Thanks for the demo. 🤘
