This has to be one of the most interesting rundowns. Also, and I can’t believe I’m saying it, I’m sort of glad Jack didn’t do it himself. It would have been distracting, and Dan clearly knows this rig backwards, forwards, upside down, and inside out.
The way John Bollinger kept saying " WOW !! " had me cracking up , then he does the twang bar drop while using the Knife Drop pedal ! priceless...Thanky !
@@artanddesign8561 I thought it was pretty cool how the thing broke and Jack White walked right in. I scrolled the bottom of it, segment by segment, and all the sudden he popped in, so I started there. Call it cheating.
What a great episode , I love the Tele's and was not expecting the Jazzmaster !...The ' Knife Drop ' pedal is sick , I LOVE noise ! Thank You Premier Guitar & Third Man ! This was very inspiring !
Jack White is one of my favorite guitarist of all time. It Might Get loud really made me respect him. I'm 50 and the moment a Jack White anything comes out I study it. I can't afford it but I try to learn what he learned. He seems to have a purpose for everything. I'm currently working on an extension cab for my Blues deluxe w/ a 15 and a 10. 🤷♂️🇺🇸😍
John Bollinger asks meaningful questions, which show how much he loves the guitar, how much he is the guitar. And as soon as he plays on the amps, on clean mode, it's like a child who has just discovered a dinosaur. After so much time doing rig rundowns, he is still able to marvel in such a simple way. It takes us straight away. Good job Mister Master John !
I’ve always been a huge fan of Jack’s guitar playing, I bought my first Big Muff Pi because of him (as well as Billy Corgan (my band was doing a Smashing Pumpkins song at the time and I wanted to get that sound) and David Gilmour) and I wrote and recorded a White Stripes-inspired song for an assignment in college so he’s definitely been a big inspiration for me as well. Everything he’s done has been awesome from The White Stripes to The Raconteurs to The Dead Weather and his solo career and his new gear is so damn cool as well, all his new Fender gear is so nice. Definitely one of the best you guys have put out thus far, great fucking job as always
As far as I know, the "blower switch" name and function originated from Mick Jones of The Clash and Foreigner. He put two mini toggle switches beside the knobs of his Les Paul to be able to send either the bridge or neck humbucker straight to the output jack.
@@zacharynewman4852 I stand corrected, I was always found it odd that someone would go from The Clash to Foreigner, but it was two guys with the same name. the Foreigner Jones did have the blower switches though.
I love that Jack collaborates with both budget and boutique pedal manufacturers. I'd live to see Jack and Joyo collaborate on an amp sim pedal. Joyo's American Sound is a big time sleeper of a pedal and it would be cool to see Jack put his spin on it.
Jack really scoops mids on all his amps. I love the Microamp always on line driver sound. I do it on so many Fender amps as an always on. Helps if you don’t have a treble bleed, long cable and swapping pedals in and out! So nice to just have it built in, and set low to transparently drive your board. But with that treble and bass up so much and mid cut, it’s a nice canvas to play with for sure. My only question is 22w/40w, and the reverb on the 22w. The amp is sure to break up relatively soon on the 10in with reverb, while keeping the 15in clean. Seems like an amp you’d wanna mic up, to to get an equal sound on stage. Otherwise lower volumes I’m guessing with no mic? My 22w can’t keep up with a drummer, but any of my 6L6 40w for sure can. I couldn’t see pushing it past 4 on the volume, unless you want the 10in to break up. You’d need the PA to do the rest of the work. You’d just mic the 10in/15in, and adjust the two with the PA for maximum headroom. Otherwise in a bedroom, you’re playing a 22w amp at 1-2, with a nice 15in big sound under it. At that point I’d need mics on stage or 2-3 of these 😝 I’ve been eyeing this amp to replace my Ampeg VT40, to go with my Sky King amp for wet/dry. I bet they would sound great together! But for me, the Telegraph momentary switch on the effects and reverb is wild. Awesome rundown!
I love how cool jack was about his guitar getting busted. You can bet a lot of other musicians would have thrown a tantrum. But that's rock n roll! Stuff gets busted.
Man, they could just silkscreen "Jack White" on a Deville and people would buy it; so cool that he's involved in the actual design of that Pano Verb. That thing's a real Swiss army knife, too, really useful options. The Triplecaster's cool as hell but maybe more than I want to deal with onstage, but that's just me. Drooling over that amp, though.
Jack should probably try-out [/ modify] an old '70s Shergold Masquerader Guitar. They have Three, 3-Way Switches, and are a well good quality build. Also, some of them old 1970/'80s Russian Guitars are pretty-outthere too, though their build quality can be iffy. Josh from JHS could be a well interesting guess for Rig Rundown... .
Love Jack and John/Premier Guitar and very excited about trying that amp. But I gotta laugh at how John is over the top with surprise about the Fender amp for example, like he was completely in the dark. I mean I am pretty keyed in from a number of great demo vids, including by da man himself. 😉🎸 And kudos to Fender for agreeing to push the envelope with some exciting new products that mix coveted vintage sounds with new creative twists.
OK...around 23:00 I was like, some guitar company needs to hire this guy for research and development (or Jack needs to pay him more). This is great. Also....can we get a round of applause for old Kay guitars? Saw him play that Kay at Lupo's in Providence, RI and Tsongas Arena in Lowell, MA back in the early 2000s.

Jack showing up at THAT moment haha - I really hope that wasn't staged, but that is hilarious. Great rundown here!
It was not staged at all ... we couldn't plan Bohlinger manhandling that guitar!
Perfection
SO GOOD!
I appreciate how the tech offered John the guitar to check out. And he immediately broke it 😝
Man I've been watching a long time and John has become a hell of a host. Always getting the best out of the guests. fantastic player to boot.
Love the host, John Bollinger. He loves what he does and it shows. One of the best show on UA-cam.
breaking Jack White's guitar when turning on the Knife Drop is the best unintentional promotion for the pedal I've ever seen
Didn't he say they just got back from tour? One more show and it probably would've broken on stage.
He said blower switch
That Knife Drop fiasco was the best pedal commercial ever. Now I want one and Lord knows I don't need more fuzz pedals in my life.
Jack could produce a "It Might Get Loud" each year with 3 new guitarist and I would pay every time. That was a concept that warrant MORE!
Who would be the other guitarists for subsequent episodes? I say we let Jack decide.
I’ve never seen John have so much fun on one these and I can’t blame him. He’s like a kid in a candy store. Great episode. The tech’s great too.
I have waited 15 years for this
the most waited rig rundown to me!!!
The slow-mo playback of the Bigsby moment!!!!
That better make it in the "best of" year end video!!!!
🤣🤣🤣🤣

About fking time this rig rundown was made. Great job guys!
one of the best episodes ever
57:22…..the time when John breaks the whammy bar by accident and the whole crew Just laughs….LOVE IT!!! 🤷♂️👍😂
The Knife Drop breaking the guitar shows how haunted that pedal is! Love it!
My favorite Rig Rundown from my favorite artist. The Triplecaster and the pedalboard are AMAZING!!! And John is so cool!
That amp is absolutely worth $3,000 after hearing it holy hell!
Man i've been waiting for this for years! One of the greatest, most creative rigs of all!
Fuzz and octaves, fun and reverbs, so gritty!
King Gizzard and Jack White within the same month is amazing.

Oh my word, what a coup getting this rig rundown 👏
At least Jack showed up for his own Rig Rungdown. Errr, wait a minute.
You clearly didn't watch the whole video.

Yes! I can't wait to watch the whole Rig Rundown!!! Can't wait to see the wacky rig Jack has built for himself.
John is on thin ice after that Bigsby break haha
No one or animals were harmed while filming this Rundown ... wish we could say the same about the guitar 🤣

These amps have a real hot-rodded Vibro King thing going, and I am here for it.

The Rig Rundown event of the year at @57:00 That is in the Hall Of Fame moments.

The fact that people are so mad at this guy (you know who you are) makes me love him even more than back in the day.
That’s Jack being generous and sharing his spotlight with his main man Dan
57:20 for John’s Bigsby Snaffoo

Damn, John shredded Jack’s guitar lol RIP

two different Mick Jones'! That sounds more like Foreigner Jones- Clash jones just used a P90 and volume

It's really interesting how Jack's gear has gone from totally low tech to incredibly high tech. Regardless, I love his music.

Tonally it’s suffered somewhat from the WS days
High tech would be modelers and so forth. He has just combined a bunch of old shet together.
The pickguard on that prototype is DOPE
