I had the same build up which I don't like looking at and removed it with Invisible Glass cleaner. My spray head leaked the first time I used it. Because of the build up and leaky spray head I returned it and did not replace it. The water shedding was not any better than other products. I give it a thumbs down.

Brian, I appreciate you taking the time to test and review so many detail products. It allows us to make better choices, when it comes to buying those products. I too applied this product after similar prep. I saw the same buildup at the stopping point of the wipers. In central texas, during the "winter," it was only useful for shedding water on side and rear windows during the many rinses due to our heavy pollen season. I got it because I work in a retail parts store and got it cheap. I'd never seriously recommend it, but I also wouldn't warn anyone against it. Thanks for validating my methods and feelings on this product.

Gtechniq G5. I rarely have glowing recommendations for protection products because I'm usually disappointed. But this stuff lasted me 9 months through 40in of rain accumulation on a daily driver. A bottle ~$20 and is gives 10-12 coats on all windows, will last several years. Seriously good performance and value.

@@sjb3460 If you're using the original Rain X (yellow bottle), then your issue is how well you're buffing it off of your windshield after application. I had the same problem until someone showed me what buffing it off was supposed to look like. It takes quite a few 'clean side of the rag' (or paper towel) surfaces before you're done with a coat. I prefer the bottle without cleaner in it and I apply 2-4 coats on our windshields at a time (maybe twice a year in our dry west Texas weather) depending on how sore my arms are that day. 😂
I just bought this CeramiX variety today and I will NEVER do that again. I almost want to see if I can return it and get a bottle of the regular stuff because I cannot get this coating to buff out at all. I've been working on a rear passenger window for an hour and there's still a build up of product on it. I quit and came in to see if I was doing something wrong. 🤷‍♀️ Doesn't seem like I am, so I'm at a loss for this particular product. 'Stick to the original' is definitely my opinion.

Reminds me of the Armor All Ceramic glass cleaner. Tried that once and threw it away. Wipe off was a mess, it caused wiper chatter, and it got pushed around by the wipers on the windshield just like is shown here. It also seemed to make the window fog on the outside more than normal. I tested it in the bathroom on the mirror and confirmed that to be the case. Into the garbage it went. At least it wasn't expensive.

The best way I like to use rain-x is once I've done a car wash if the windshield doesn't bead anymore I would just spray the entire windshield & use the wiper blades to remove the product then dry with micro-fiber getting product on entire windshield I found this will make it easier to remove streaking. Another technique lets say on a rainy day you find it doesn't bead anymore - park away from the rain and spray a straight line above the wipers and it will spread and dry the product on pretty quickly - It might not last as long but it gets the job done when you are short on time to apply this product, my main goal is to avoid streaks just apply as needed. Great product overall & I don't need to have my wipers at maximum speed anymore.

The fact that there was a noticeable difference in color, and also the product buildup, makes me wonder whether it was buffed off sufficiently.

It's nice, but is it worth the overhead to carry a separate product when you can apply the same sealant for the paint, such as C2V3, and still get some good results? No need for an extra product to buy and time spent changing up product and towels... Just seems a better way to go and still leaves the up sell for a true ceramic coating.

It will not quit streaking. It Fog's up your glass and attracts dust. When it rains it's great! Same old Rain-x. Can not get glass clean. Must wear off. Don't waste your money. On the new Rain- x! I detail on the side. I would not put this product on a customer's vehicle. Shawn.

Just used the RAINX Ceramic-X on my windshield and after a couple days of Florida rain showers I have smears all across the entire windshield and that WIPER LINE on the driver side that is driving me crazy!! The line is smack in front of my eyes at an angle from bottom center to top left of windshield. I have used Vinegar solution, Denatured Alcohol, half dozen various window cleaners and even used the Rainx on the same area and can not get the junk off my windshield. Why does my own leave like a white dust residue or white beads after wiping? Is that normal? Or is the chemical bad already?

Back in the 80’s RainX was awesome but only lasted a week at best. You had to apply 10 coats to get two weeks protection. Looks like the formula is improved but still based on the original formula. Then again I did apply RainX to my racing helmet plastic part which went over my face and it did work.
What product do you recommend to clean glass with once the glass is coated? Thank you for the video.

My first try in a Walmart parking lot is a disaster. What were the "magical" things you used to clean the windshield first or do you have a video on cleaning a windshield for real?
    Thanks for the information.
(edit) PS: I think using it to clean the inside was my biggest mistake?

I just used it on my truck and I can’t get the film off. I’ve wiped my damn windshield 10 times! Am I doing something wrong?

Lasted less than a week with lots of rain. Sticking with the OG version.

I'm going to stick with rainx purple in the winter and rainx orange in the summer and you don't have to do anything but push a button to re apply 😅 to much work for what it does and no one has time for that!!!

I used it and it was so hard to wipe off after I applied. And then the lines it's left made me go crazy had to stop in the rain and wipe them off. Not a fan of this stuff.

I'll stick with regular Rain-X. I've tried the yellow bottle Rain-X / cleaner. It didn't work as well as the straight Rain-X. In fact you can feel the difference in the glass the regular Rain-X / cleaner this doesn't work that well there's a definite difference you can feel the difference when touching the glass. Here in Arizona at last quite a while course it depends how often you wash your car

I'll stick with the traditional Rain-X, seems to last alot longer and goes a long way, still using a bottle from 10 yrs ago.

There were several products that were used to prep the windshield before applying the rain X product. He did not show us what those products were, and I have no idea what you’re talking about. Are use this product and it’s horrible.

That’s a No for me. Honestly, it looks like to me they are just trying to get in on the “ceramic” name hoopla. Buy some lottery scratchers instead. You’ll have better luck.

Lol The bottle says you'll get six weeks, but Brian's skeptical. Then at the end of the video, bro says, "I have a harsh environment, and I can't see getting more than a month and a half"
A month and a half is six weeks minimum, maybe seven depending on the month. So you're saying they were right, and gave what they promised.
Seriously though, seems like by the time the build-up starts to happen, it's about time to reapply anyway. If you can get 6-7 weeks out of a "spray-on, wipe-off" product, then that seems good for a windshield.
