Silicone based products like the rainx always have better repelling power initially but it quickly drops off compared to fluorine based such as the ultra glaco. You need to apply rainx very frequently to enjoy its initial performance.
This is true. I've used both and my Rain-X bottle still has a bit left. For Rain-X, I'd have to apply maybe once a month at least, or once every two weeks if I wash my car regularly. Since I've switched to Glaco Ultra, I haven't needed to reapply it onto the windshield. It's been half a year and it's still beading like it's new. The only downside is, when the old coat of Glaco is no longer beading, I need to remove it with glass compound before reapplying a new coat of Glaco Ultra. Still beats having to reapply Rain-X regularly.
Tried both and prefer Glaco... seems to last longer, and do not have wiper issues... think the wiper life is shortened with rain X and it makes loud noise too....
From what I've seen on the glaco it works best when driving not when stationary which makes sense considering you need it to work while you're moving. How is it while driving?
Glaco is best one, when you applying Glaco almost immediately you wiping (cotton cloth only) other way is hard to clean up, and on applicator they say Do NOT use microfiber cloth witch is taking back your stuff from the window , I am using Glaco for couple of years and is best working for me, when driving in the city traffic, no need to use wipers on high speed at all, raindrops going away from windshield them shelf, as they said is one year performer, and is truth, regards from Australia
You used glaco ultra which lasts about a year (confirmed after using it in my cars). Rain x is more hydrophobic but it lasts about a month tops. A fairer comparison would be with glaco roll on which is designed to be more hydrophobic and lasts a couple of months.
Well in my experience it lasts longer than Rain-X, but perhaps isn't as hydrophobic. The problem I run into is very long rainy periods where it's never a good day to re-apply the Rain-X. @@MDrives Another interesting test is comparing brands in how they do with frost. A window that's never had a hydrophobic coating is *much* harder to clear of ice and frost. Fresh Rain-X makes it much, much easier and I presume that other products help too but I haven't really done that test.
Rain x let a temporay milky appearance on the windshield after the wipers are on and it almost do not happens with glaco. Specially noted during the night.
I love seeing these kind of tests, but you really need to strip the windshield of debris and contaminants to do a glaco protectant justice. I've tried both of these products, but using a auto gym glass cleaner just isn't going to get the base layer of chum off the windshield for the proper glaco to bind.
Not sure it’s worth comparing the products on the windshield when the car is stationary. I’m only interested what happens when I’m driving, and when I’m driving I prefer Glaco Ultra on my car and Glaco DX on my van because I generally drive slower in my van 👍🏽
I only clean my windscreen during summer when I get insects on it. I use quick glass from Autoglym. Other than that I don’t wash it apart from when I wash my car which isn’t too often.
Have u notice that glaco has more beads its hydrophopic.. It only shows its better than rain x... Driving in rain is much better with glaco coz this repels more rain better than rain x... At low speed like 50km glaco repels way better than rain x....u need higher speed for rain x to repel the rain. Hosing the glass does not tell the whole story unless u drive it into the rain.
I had it on a car for a long time and looked for the differences at different speed. Unfortunately there was no noticeable difference between the two in my case.
Extremely well wrung cloth. Hard to get right. I found that using a wrung out cloth followed by a dry cloth worked well. Left me with glass that looked amazing. It took me a few attempts before I worked it out and it’s definitely more difficult to get right than all these YT videos make out.
Glacco Glass Cleaning Compound Use it before you apply the glass coating The compound is amazing and removes everything No need to clay bar Videos on UA-cam show you how to use it.
Estava em dúvida entre os dois. Mas acabei indo de Glaco. Espero que seja duravel. Ou se não, pelo preço por aqui no Brasil não compensa. Vale mais aqueles de posto de ficar reaplicando.

Thank you for this info.
Excelent answer. I bought a big glaco and noticed it. In other liquids I noticed greater repellency, but it seems to be more durable. still in testing
And silicone based product let a temporary milky appearance a bit longer after the wipers pass on the windshield, specially during the night.

Rain x will look better initially but it dissipates so quickly… like In just a few weeks.
A pilot friend told me to use Pledge. Works at low and high speed. Easy to apply. Easy snow and ice removal as well. Smells nice too.
Thanks for letting me know.
How did these hold up over time? I dont see an update video. thanks
From what I've seen on the glaco it works best when driving not when stationary which makes sense considering you need it to work while you're moving. How is it while driving?
Where's the updates??
The glaco you used is made for higher speeds not just stand still, and last a year and rain X last three weeks
Rainx defo lasts longer than that.
With rainx when i was using the wipers it didn't go smooth and here was noise and little haze. How is it with the soft99 ultra?
I would like to apply rainX to the wiper
I use Turtle wax polish and it works brilliantly
same .. i use the turtle wax ceramic spray, works just as well.

No need to wait before wiping glaco?
@@rapbaluyut5778 you can wait a bit, is depend what is temperature when you applying

Thanks. I’ll look into that.
Glaco states clearly that it’s designed to be used at speeds over 45km/h for the regular formulation. Testing on a stationary car is almost comical.
I did test it on the road. There’s a long term review on my channel.
Have you considered Glaco vs. Aquapel or are they essentially the same?
Hi. Tbh I never had an experience with Aquapel. Would you recommend it?

Cit timp a tinut ambele ?
i assume rain x needs to be reapplied after car washes? is glaco immune from that?
Hi. No. You don’t have to, it will stay on the glass easily for about 2 months. Then you re-apply.
You would still have to clean your windshield , once a week , twice a week or once a month ?
What kind of cleaning you are asking about?

I don't think you let the glaco cure long enough. you are supposed to let it cure.
It started to rain after 12h after application.
GREAT VID. RAINX IS FINE SHORT TERM.
Watching this in my car at 80mph and it’s raining in England and I have used the wipers once, it’s just flies up over the car - Rain X
Hopefully not driving it at the same time 🫣
