- Since leg quarters are about the cheapest meat that you can buy now. I wanted do a short video on how I grill leg quarters. I started my grill and decided to shoot this video at the last minute. I placed a time estimate in the top right hand corner so that you can see almost exactly what and when I turn the chicken. If you have any questions or comments please feel free. I would love to hear from ya'll. Also you can find my grill spray recipe at • Barbecue Vinegar Grill...
I saw this video today, followed your instructions to the letter, and good Lord, if that wasn't some of the best barbecue chicken I've ever had, I'll be damned.
Thank you Clark :) I am glad to hear it. I love my bbq chicken.
You know what man, this is the best video on chicken grill in! Very descriptive, direct, and to the point. Thank you buddy
Thanks!
Matt Cordry I concur!

Cohort227 what do you spray with
Your leg quarters did NOT come off the grill looking like charcoal briquettes and for that, you've got my respect. Thank you....
Man I've just started grilling this was the first video that popped up cooking chicken I've tried your instructions. Turned out great!
It's about time i see direct grilling ☺
Beautiful result. Cooked perfect, not burnt or overdone. Nice to see you using direct heat as well I always reckon it tastes better that way. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching
This man is an expert! It takes good skills to direct grill chicken on bones :)
Yes it does bro. I agree leg grilled leg quarters divide the men from the boys. lol.
I love that you have a time stamp. Good-looking chicken.
Great video chicken looked about perfect. Double thumbs up for the timer in the corner. And you said it "perfectly bbq sauce taste different (better)when cooked in." Now I am hungry.
Still a good informative video in 2024. Gonna do it like that tomorrow in Amarillo. Thanks
hey I know I'M 2 years 3 months behind but I just got into outdoor cooking and was looking for some good teacher and you are good , I just purchased my weber kettle 26 thanks for the lesson . and that chicken looks great
Thanks
We did this a week ago, after watching your video. My wife told me, 2 days ago... "You're doing that chicken again for the 4th of July, right?". I said "Well yes, apparently I am".
Great recipe, sir. Thanks
Good stuff
One of the best charcoal grilling videos of seen on UA-cam. What’s in your vinegar spray?
I think I did a video on the spray but is basically vinegar, Worcestershire Sauce, apple juice and a short of bourbon.
you know your craft man!! you are dedicated and I love that, glad I found this video
Enjoyed this video, especially how you took us through the plating and testing! Food is awesome stuff y'all.
My friend! Thanks so much for this post! I cook all the time but no grille experience at all! Seen it. Ate it. Love it. But no skills doing it correctly and fully cooked.
Your vid is a game changer!
Thank you!
Outstanding, Sir.
Great video,no flare ups ,chicken perfect, you know what your doing! I think I will combine apple cider vinegar whisky and oil for my spray,am I close?? Well done!!🇨🇦👍
Love the sizzling sound
this is exactly the video I was looking for. thanks for making this!
Simple Perfection! I'm on my way to grab me some leg quarters and grill them on my five day old, one smoked pork butt, one smoked whole chicken, four hamburgers so far Oklahoma Joe's Rambler Grill. I'm going to cook them just like you did! Thank you! Patience is Perfection!
chicken looks great
sudansu. mahraja
Thank you for the recipe! I watched the video, and my husband is firing up the grill right now! I'll let you know how it turns out. It looks delicious!

@@Cohort227 It did! Thank you!
natural bbq cooking..you got it..
Great video, direct and to the point. Man that chicken looked good when u cut into it
Chicken looking good!. We also use a vinegar/apple juice spray mixture. You sure cooked that bird like you supposed to, know yall enjoyed them!
Awesome video!
Hey, really great video. I always mess up my timing and this really helped. Made some great BBQ tonite! Tks very much.
I think one key to your success is when to put your chicken on those coals. You got it right. If a they are not asked down a bit, you might burn them up. Good job!
very nice video, perfect explaination on how bbq quarter leg chicken.
Great 🐔 🦵 quarter video. I just subbed to your channel brother. Keep grilling
Thanks for the sub!
I can't wait to grill my leg quarters later today after watching this. I need to try that vinegar spray method of yours one day. It looks real good on that chicken of yours.
I’m trying this tonight. It will take a lot of practice to get this down like you did. You’re awesome at this. Thanks for the video.
Ok I ate it. It was good but probably not as good as yours. Question- How do you grill direct for 70 minutes without burning it? Mine was plenty blackened after like 5 minutes direct, so I moved it over to the cool side to finish. And total cook time was only 30 minutes! How do you keep your heat down so low (I assume it’s fairly low heat) even though your vents are open? I want to make chicken like yours!
Keep turning it and slice them so they'll cook faster. Also once you turn them you can start adding BBQ sauce 😋
Even if it gets blackened the sauce will loosing them babies back up
Nice! I can't wait to do mine today. Wish me luck.
The chicken looks great and thanks for sharing your grilling recipe.
Thank you :)
You inspire me, sir..
Wow, thanks
Great video.. Came out spot on!!
Very nice
Helped alot
The chicken look so good
Looks great. I can't wait to try it.
Funny how he kept saying he didn't turn them often. Leg quarters cook themselves, two turns, done. Nice vid, I'm going to try a vinegar spray.
Very nice video sir. My chicken always ends up catching on fire. This video will help me to get better.
Tell me about this vinegar spray. I have a hard time with strong vu what flavors but I really like a subtle vinegar flavor.
That vinegar spray is awesome dude. Just bbq yesterday using it minus the jim beam. I will try whiskey next time. Thank you.
Hey do you know what's I'm that spray bottle
@@laquaishakelly7522 He has a link to the recipe in the description been a while since I grilled I forgot. Try it out it is really good.
Wow very yummy bbq chicken enjoy eating keep safe
Thank you man I going to try your way on labor day
Dang it son, that looks good.
It was a expression, that's what everyone says ,don't flip the chicken, lol , chicken looked great made me hungry
Lol, I guess thats why I hear it so much, thanks for the heads up.
Great video. I'll stop asking my Convict Brother to cook for me and kick his ass into the street, because he doesn't pay rent, mooches off my food, and can only BBQ pretty good. Thanks for showing me how to do it.
I rate the video (11:00) a 10 out of 10 ... Excellent job !!! Looks very tasty ... My brother's a low-life -- he's gone !!!
Sorry for your brother but thanks a lot!! lol
Dude, I'm subscribing because you made me so freaking hungry! Great Video!

Looks absolutely amazing brother wow quick question how high was the grill temp???
great video
Good shit One Grill Man to another looks Great know it taste 🖒💯
Good looking chicken. That looked close to how my dad use to do it on charcoal. I've been trying to replicate it. was best bbq chicken ever. No rub like everybody does now, just salt & pepper. During the cook, he would wipe chicken with margarine, then apple cidar vinegar. At the end of the cook would apply bbq sauce. Not sure if was CHS, or just a store brand like kraft or something. Anyway, I haven't been able to match it with my offset or WSM. Sometimes, simple is better just like you just showed. Thanks. I have sub your channel
Now that's how you BBQ🍗🍗🍗🍗
so yummy
Well done 👏🏾
Very nice!
Thank you.
Best ive ever turned out were done direct. Rubbed em doen in mustard. Seasoned em and on they went. When the skin was right i put on my sauce for a few and boom. There it is. I dont turn em much at all. Skin side up
Man got me buying a squirt bottle bout get cooking this is the best video bro keep up the great work on the coals how long was your set up time I'm a good guy so coal aint my cup of tea but I'm gonna try it
Meant wood
Great video, but I have 2 questions, what type of vinegar did u use to spray them down? and the BBQ sauce that u made?
Man when you tore that skin I about cried Lol...kidding! Great cook
Haha... Glad I'm not the only one who does this... 🤭
Good job!
looks good now I am hungry for chicken haha
nice job .
That’s grilling vs smoking most videos just on smoking but everyone don’t want to smoke there meats Nic video
Also, I'd really like to get a spray like yours. You did an awesome job cooking those. What is the spray?
+Real fights -- Hey thanks a lot for your comments. I did a video on the spray I used you can see it here ua-cam.com/video/FPjunAHDmIQ/v-deo.html Enjoy!!
Thanks. Appreciate that.
Nice video friend. Just stumbled across your channel today. Why not throw a chunk of Apple wood in there. Give you another layer of flavor. Best of luck with your channel. I'll def be watching for new vids.
What did you use for your spray? Ive been trying to perfect the perfect spray. Just curious you spray mixture?
Wonderful!
Can you show your coal placement and lighting the coal?
Thanks man!!!!! Great video SUBSCRIBED!!!
I cook indirect with the vents wide open for 45 minutes. That usually is all that is necessary
Yeah me too I start direct to get the grill marks then indirect about 45 min
Oh yeah, Now that's barbecued chicken. Nice job on the cook and video. Thanks for sharing Cohort.
No lie I'm grilling the same amount of pieces now....kmsl
Good video
nice job
Would it hurt you to season the chicken a little bud?
What's you favorite BBQ sauce recipe. I've always been a fan of mustard based but family won't have it. They like the ketchup blend.
Screaming TBird time to upgrade the family 😉🤣
Perfect ! :)
thanks for sharing
hey boss man great video
What’s in the spray bottle ?
How in the world did you do this direct and have no flare-ups? Just the grease from the chicken would flare when I do it.
Looks great! Is that just vinegar in the spray bottle?
I did another video on the spray 'Vinegar Spray Recipe ua-cam.com/video/FPjunAHDmIQ/v-deo.html' Try ti I think you will like it.
Awesome! What kind of charcoal, and did you use fluid?
not bad looks gd man. makes me hungry. whata u spraying vinger
Do you ever have to use more coals? Everytime I BBQ chicken it always seems like I have to do start a second batch of coals or the heat goes away and the meat stops cooking. Any tips?
What was in the spray bottle?
