Inquisitor Thrax (the guy who arrested Titus in the first game) tortured Titus for a long time just to get a confession out of him but Thrax eventually fell to chaos and the Grey knights had to put him down. @@reianvase6683 I can’t speak for everybody in my personal case, though it’s a bit of a I guess you could say personal vendetta against him. And unfortunately, the inquisitor that he became, I guess I could say introduced to turned out to be an inquisitor who had a rather extreme dislike of the space marines. Going so far as to torture him regularly before putting him in stasis. It wasn’t until it was discovered that the inquisitor had actually fallen into chaos and that all of his holdings had been requisition that they found Titus and yeah. Everything that has happened to Titus over the last 200 years is this guy’s fault.
@@reianvase6683 it wasn't his paranoia that was unreasonable, it was what he did in the first game that was unreasonable. if he suspected Titus of corruption then he should have reported it first to the chaplain. you know... what his current job is now? the fact that Titus returned to their chapter cleared of suspicion just made Leandros look like a clown.

Yk, funnily enough, leandros actually broke a rule in the codex Astartes. The codex states that if a brother is found to be corrupt, they should be reporting them to the chaplain of their own chapter, not the inquisition.
Leandros is PISSED at Titus, not only did get celebrated, even as a lieutenant, but he gets rewarded for not following the codex, AND the primarch asks for him by name
People say that Leandros got off lightly. But it’s worth considering how little he has progressed in the chapter since he accused Titus. Titus was barred from rising further in the chapter due to the fact that he had been turned into a black shield. What is Leandros’ excuse? The guy was a promising young fighter who had managed to get a place in the 2nd captain’s own command squad. And after that there’s nothing. No rise to a sergeants position, no captaincy, the guy was taken in by the only few amongst the ultramarines who might accept his overzealous interpretation of the codex, and he has remained a chaplain for probably most of that full century. That’s a dead end career if I’ve ever seen it amongst space marines. The officers will never accept him with official authority, the chapter command distrusts him since he has snitched on a captain before, so he has been given the official position of yapper so he can ramble on about the codex in a positive manner while not being in a position to do irreparable harm again without chapter command or the other chaplains stepping in.
I think that regarding Leandros, one thing should be remembered. After Titius, Cato Sicarius became Captain of Second company. And Sicarus (at least in the early of his stories) was smug, recless, arrogant, Codex-Worshipping Glory Hound- now he is better. So I can easily see Leandros rising under such a man only to hit a block when Cato was dismissed. This justify to me how he could rise to Chaplain and not suffer retribution from brothers.
@@AndrCPC that’s not it at all. Because if Leandros had been valued by Cato and remained within his inner circle then Leandros would have been trapped in the warp aboard the firstborn company’s ship when they were trapped in the warp and nearly died out. Leandros wasn’t present, nor has there been any account of Cato including Leandros in anything. So I still think that Leandros didn’t acquire the chaplaincy through that method, it was the only position he could take.
I was seriously hoping that we would have offhandedly hear about how Leandros would have been that 1% mortality rate statistic among astartes not surviving the Rubicon surgery but here we are.

While his initial accusation might have had merit he really has no leg to stand on here. Titus was absolved by the Inquisition itself and his century long service in the Deathwatch was exemplary. At this point it's just Leandros being a spiteful douche.
@@HubiKoshi on the surface it may appear that way but if you pay attention he never outright calls him a heretic or questions his loyalty rather he only ever questions whether he knows what he is doing or saying such as when he was freaking put about the project aurora and it was made clear to Titus that it was approved by girlyman himself and he was still against it Leandros made a very pointed suggestion that again on the surface seems like he's questioning his loyalty but when you know just how dangerous it is and you know how loyal Titus is you can also read leabdros questioning as a subtle warning that such questioning of the primarchs decision isn't a good idea after that while Titus makes it clear he doesn't approve of the plan he follows his captains orders because that's all he can do and when he's going on to the mission to send a message to Calgar Leandros again gives him a very clear suggestion to make it count because Leandros also knows how dangerous this thing is and he knows that Titus is close with Calgar and if anyone can get calgar to change course it's him

An important thing to remember here, is how much Calgar trusts Titus. Titus used to be the Captain of the 2nd Company. That means by order of succession, should Calgar and Captain Agemman of the First Company die, Titus would have been the Chapter Master of the Ultramarines and Warden of Ultramar (remember, that was all before Guilliman returned).
Well, like i said on Facebook awhile back, i think a great finale ending for this game would be it is found out that Leandros is actually a bigtime chaos spy /infiltrator. the big scene at the end would be that Robute Guilliman destroys leandros with the Emperors sword and reinstates Titus as a captain again. 😁

5:07 As known Leandros become a Chaplain, we need to know about such ironic promotion:
After the event of Graia, he was prompted for promotion...
However due to his act towards against captain, his promotion was direct into Chaplain.
In actual case, he's receive a reverse promotion: a High rank "Non-commanding" officer. Which Leandros cannot direct command his chapter brother Marines, and also her status was lower than veteran tech Marines. So at the long time, he's suffering a long term ignored person...
Until he rescued Titus, in dying state. Upon felt guilty, he choose to revive him upon Rubicon sugary.
Probably we might have a DLC story that how Leandros choose to get redemption his guilt upon his former captain...
May the EMPEROR guide Leandros towards honor
now that some thing gameworkshop can copy from you lol
Yeah marking him Leandros Chaplin feels like what is called in the cooperate world a, 'sideways developmental move' he technically didn't do anything wrong and can't be punished, but he screwed over his captian and no other marine will ever trust him or want to serve under him, so make him wear a skull helmet, quote platitudes to the Emperor and not allow him to command anyone, fact he's round Calgar probably means he's on a very short leesh even after so many years.
@@maddlarkin He didn't just screw over Titus. He could've also put the entire chapter at risk by involving the Inquisition. He even went AGAINST the Codex Astartes doing so, as such accusations are to be brought to the Company Chaplain, not the Inquisition.
@@maddlarkin At the same it is also still relatively pragmatic because making him a chaplain is effectively making good use of him being this suspicious to others, thats effectively what Chaplains are all about, let alone he can´t skip over consulting the Chaplains as per the funny space book if he himself IS the chaplain.
"I went through a century of torture and lost my rank and fought a chaos lord and all I got was this hat" moment
Inquisitor Thrax (the guy who arrested Titus in the first game) tortured Titus for a long time just to get a confession out of him but Thrax eventually fell to chaos and the Grey knights had to put him down. Titus has literally dealt with chaos, traitors, even 2 inquisitors who fell to chaos- and never wavered in his faith. But this snitch leandros still dont trust him.
If there ever will be a continuation, I think leandros will fall to chaos as well. Or he will end in a "die by the codex" sort of way.
Actually neither of the inquisitors 'fell to chaos' the first one was killed and his body was puppeted by a daemon and Thrax got possessed while on a mission to kill a daemon so he was immediately killed
Didnt Thrax become a demon?
@@maccaroni3694 sort of yes, he got possesed while on a mission to kill one and was killed right away
And most likely Titus heard the Voice of the Emperor himself when he was blacked out, commanding him to carry on - meaning Titus is incorruptible saint at this point
@@wintertrooper7918 so in other words, he DID fall to chaos. i could understand the first one being puppeted, but this one just says that thrax was weak-willed. which makes it worse since he's supposed to be an inquisitor.
They just patched the "Rise son of Guiliman" to be said by a "Voice". Meaning that it wasn't Calgar who said it. Implying that it could've been the Emperor speaking to Titus!
or they just messing with us
It didn't sound like it was Calgar's voice that's for sure
5:07 OH THAT MOTHERF-!
Let us hope he falls to Chaos and still dick rides the Codex even better he turns to Chaos and we get to beat him to death with The Codex Astares

@@reianvase6683 I can’t speak for everybody in my personal case, though it’s a bit of a I guess you could say personal vendetta against him. After all, he’s the whole reason why Titus has gone through so much. He was the one who claimed that Titus was corrupted by chaos. He’s also the one who reported him to the inquisition.
I love when Titus looked back to the two brothers who served him side by side. Its a small gesture that makes me love the story and the characters

Yk, funnily enough, leandros actually broke a rule in the codex Astartes. The codex states that if a brother is found to be corrupt, they should be reporting them to the chaplain of their own chapter, not the inquisition.
And by now being a chaplain he can´t skip that step anymore as he himself is it. Pragmatism at its finest.
0:00 nah, that cant be Calgar, the voice aint breathy enough
It's 100% the emperor projecting his will through Calgar
It was patched and was replaced with voice instead of Calgar. Highly implying it was the Emperor.
Leandros is PISSED at Titus, not only did get celebrated, even as a lieutenant, but he gets rewarded for not following the codex, AND the primarch asks for him by name
COURAGE AND HONOUR !!!!!
FOR THE GLORY OF ULTRAMAR
COURAGE AND HONOR!
That was the emperor saying Rise, son of guilliman
Oliver Hollis-Leick the head developer of the game said on twitter "That is open to individual interpretation. It could be in Titus's mind, could be Calgar, or it could be the Emperor (though GW might disagree on that). I know who I meant it to be when I wrote it but I'll keep that to myself ;)"
Yeah it was the Emperor.
@@NastyStankyChicken haha yeah, definitely the emperor
In an update, they edited the "rise son of guilliman" into an unknown voice and stated that it was from the emperor in a post
Ok look i know its part of the look but i can't help but laugh at 5:15 where Leandros turns to look at the guy in the gunship and all he realistically would be able to see is collar XD
He cured the godblight, he burned nurgles garden, he spoke to guilliman, now he spoke to titus. I CANT BE CONVINCED THAT WASNT THE EMPEROR
100%
"It was the chaplain that suggested you for this task".
So who here has seen "And they shall know no fear" on Secret Level? Leandros is such a dick.
The only stain of chaos is having Leandros has a chaplain when all saw he accused, called the inquisition and made arrested his own captain for false suspicions only.
Calgar: Literally enamours Titus with public fact that he's basically incorruptable
Leandros: -LITERALLY PRESENT FOR THIS- "Yeah i mean HE DID fight off Orks, a Chaos invasion and a fuckin Tzeentch greater daemon.......but i just dont trust the guy."
Calgar: "Titus, I'm so angry what was done to you. So angry. Here's some leaves for your helmet. Oh... and, hey, I got a suicide mission I want you to go on right after this. Still so angry at what was done to you. So angry. "
So its looks like Leandros would like to kill Titus because this "task" was a suicidal mission from secret level.
Something tells me that even Guilliman's personal approval wouldn't even make Leandros budge on his suspicion of Titus.
5:23 awwww no ones chatting with the dreadnaught :(

I wish we get to see more of Gadriel and Chairon. I have a feeling that is not the last we see them
When Titus was given that helmet, i thought he would be reinstated to the position of Captain.
I was wrong.
Sadly he has to grind for it
There is no reason to make him a captain yet, if they already have a captain. Promotions in 40k only work if your predecssor gets killed, becomes a dreadnought or gets promoted as well.
Usually to be given the rank of Captain, the previous captain has to die
He was basically promoted to honored veteran. So highest non leadership role they can get.
I was hoping he'd be the Captain with jump pack. Given how the Captain in phobos armour is Acheran
People be acting like Leandros is being unreasonable when enemy is totally capable of corruption and possession. It's as if Horus Heresy wasn't a huge factor for paranoia.
Their hatred of leandros prevents them from critical thinking
While his initial accusation might have had merit he really has no leg to stand on here. Titus was absolved by the Inquisition itself and his century long service in the Deathwatch was exemplary. At this point it's just Leandros being a spiteful douche.
@@HubiKoshi exceot he's not he has no hostility towards him aside from what's required of his position as chaplain
@@wintertrooper7918 From what I've seen he's been questioning his loyalty through the whole game.

2:00 I hope this is the helmet he wears for SM3
So he’s got the Laurels of Victory.. can anyone explain the lore significance to this? Is he essentially a veteran lieutenant or what???
I would guess its basically just a medal of honor
A Space Marine who wears the Laurel is, to his peers, a proven warrior of his Chapter. The word of a Battle-Brother who wears the Imperial Laurel will carry more weight that it would otherwise, sometimes influencing the nature of his missions or gaining the use of rare assets, weapons or allies and the right to carry the Company Standard into battle.
It's actually a mighty rare honour bestowed upon the most esteemed warriors of the Chapter for some great deed that resulted in a W for the Imperium
It's the equivalent of getting a high ranking medal in real world militaries, and is a permanent mark of his accomplishments.
For astartes, honor and service is everything (and one and the same). This effectively makes Titus one of the living heroes of the chapter
The Laurels of Victory. Only the valor crest is deemed a higher personal honour. The Laurels are the commendation a Astartes can recieve after a long and honourable service and has proven time amd again that he is exemplary in the realm of warfare, and his bravery in the face of harrowing odds is beyond question, and, for a son of Guilliman, expertise in statecraft is also a requirement. The Laurels are near sure signal that one day the Astartes will advance to higher command, or perhaps even a Tetrarchy. It also signifies, especially to Guillimans sons that the Astartes to bear it is exemplar in both the theoretical and practical realms of battle, bearers of this honour will find many a young marine asking for advice and direction, and its known for Chapter Masters and Captains to keep laurelbearers in their command squads so they can allways offer insight. In some Chapters this honour is so revered and rare, including the Ultramarines that squads seconded to the command of a laurelbearer will mark the occasion on their armour. The chapter armoury will also open to bearers of this esteemed honour. The Master of the Forge will happily offer ancient and revered suits of power armour to wear. Millenia old Phobos pattern Bolters or even named and cherished chapter relics such as named power weaponry will be made available to signify that the Astartes is trusted with some of the most powerful and venerated wargear the chapter can provide. Only the Chapter Master, honour guard, Tetrarchs and Captains have a greater acces to the chapters most storied armaments and armour. Nevertheless, the bearer of the laurels will go to war arrayed like the heroes of old, all the more to signify his presence on the battlefield for his brothers to rally to.
Hearing the emperor muster the strength to speak directly to Titus is epic
And that treacherous Leandros sent Titus on a suicide mission after this. That snake.
After the new update, Calgar is removed and its just Voice, Rise son of Guilliman
Interesting little detail I just noticed is that Leandros was the second right after Acheran to do the salute before the "courage and honor" chant.
Here's a more realistic explination of what happebed to leandros post sm1, likely he recieved an ass chewing from his superiors from the seargent all the way up to clagar himself, after that he was demoted and had to work much harder than anyone else in his rank, after that he likeky decided to work towards becoming chaplin because he took Titus parting wirds to heart and wanted to become better so he becane a novice and was likely given a lot of shitty jobs and did them all without complaint and eventually made it to chaplin all over the course of 200 years
An important thing to remember here, is how much Calgar trusts Titus. Titus used to be the Captain of the 2nd Company. That means by order of succession, should Calgar and Captain Agemman of the First Company die, Titus would have been the Chapter Master of the Ultramarines and Warden of Ultramar (remember, that was all before Guilliman returned).
Leandros is now more batshit than Asmodai

Everything about this story was amazing from start to finish, at least twice I yelled for the Emperor 😂
yes Titus who has been a Space Marine twice as long as either of them
Well, like i said on Facebook awhile back, i think a great finale ending for this game would be it is found out that Leandros is actually a bigtime chaos spy /infiltrator. the big scene at the end would be that Robute Guilliman destroys leandros with the Emperors sword and reinstates Titus as a captain again. 😁

Ah yes Leandros the Loyalist equivalent to Kor Phaeron. Phaeron sucks.
As loathful as he is, Leandros’ adherence to the Codex and that extremely lawful attitude of his makes him suitable for the position. A necessary irritance.
