Diana became too possessive and try to control his life like some ordinary possessive women. He had much work to do and many obligations to fulfil as a Prince of Wales and future King. As a Canadian, who grew up as a Royalist (British Mum & Grandmother)… I’ve been appalled at how the British people appeared to blindly follow what the British rags (newspapers) say about Meghan and Harry and their family. There is a very famous ex-footballer who fell out with his mum because he left a message on her phone telling her something private, making her the only other person who knew, and it ended up in the newspaper. He was convinced, at the time, that it could only be his mother who gave them the information.
No one is talking about censorship, but a fair and honest press which can report factual news without fear or favour. A press which do not resort to criminally . A press which should be accountable when necessary for its behaviour. That’s what we are asking for. The Uk press is none of that and that is why it should be regulated by an independent body and not by a government.

As a Canadian, who grew up as a Royalist (British Mum & Grandmother)… I’ve been appalled at how the British people appeared to blindly follow what the British rags (newspapers) say about Meghan and Harry and their family. No one person or group of people are perfect… none of us are, none of you are… but some are absolutely horrible and what the British press has done to this family is… disgusting.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle planned to thrash the Royal family and the Royal establishment to make money by deception. An intelligent press understood their motives soon enough and exposed them. The way they behaved in British soil ignoring the British Crown Protocols and demanding to do things as they pleased was not acceptable. British Crown is not about the family connections, it is about work as it is in any establishment. There is established seniority and positions and work is stipulated accordingly for a working Royal. It is part of constitution. If they do not follow the rules they are out. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry behaved badly. A free press is there to report what they find. So if you are a prominent person you should behave. It is the norm. As the Queen said, you cannot be in and out as you please in an organisation that works for the well being of British people. The truth is that Kate has had higher staff turnover than Meghan. Numerous staff still work for Meghan, having moved to the US to continue with her.
Meghan was high profile before she met Harry, had assistants and different people who worked with her in subordinate roles. There were never any complaints about her behaviour. In fact it was the opposite. EVERYONE described her as a truly sweet person and spoke of how kind and thoughtful she is.
Today’s verdict is evidence of how and why the British tabloids tried to destroy Meghan’s reputation- to get back at Harry for going after them.
