In a landmark court verdict, a high court judge on Friday ruled that phone hacking and other unlawful practices to obtain stories were "habitual" at the Mirror Group's newspapers.
The judge also said that senior executives at the company knew about these methods, as did Piers Morgan, who once edited the Daily Mirror.
Morgan has taken to the airwaves to once again deny.
Lewis asks what this ruling means for Harry, the royal family, the press and Piers Morgan himself. He talks to a lawyer representing the victims of phone hacking, a former Daily Mirror editor and a former phone hacker.

Can we appreciate that one of the first acts of the tories on getting into power, was to cut legal aid. This means that in order to bring a claim, you'd need vast amounts of cash. It is highly likely that many who's phone has been hacked will never see their time in court and justice will never be done for them.
You’re right, and this is often forgotten by those who champion or even just vote for the Conservative Party. The ability to sue for libel and slander is limited now just to the wealthy. Few lawyers will take on cases from Mr and Mrs Average on a no win no fee basis.

Morgan was very particular about how he states what he knows. The witness said Morgan asked about reliability of the source for a story and was told it was voicemail. Or in other words, phone hacking. Morgan knew what his reporting team illegal hacking to get their story. He did nothing to end it.

Jeremy paxman told a story about a lunch, in 2002, at which Morgan told him about phone hacking and advising him to change his password.
I thought I remembered that right. I seem to recall Morgan being asked about that by the Leveson enquiry and he gave some mealy-mouthed "I know it went on, I know how to do it, but I've never done it myself" answer.

Parliament is letting down the people, I'm left to wonder what this illegal phone gathering uncovered on MPs and Lords sufficient to shut them out in the face of such blatant corruption by the media barons. I'm sorely tempted to believe the British Parliament is stuffed with criminals and perverts, otherwise, what would explain the radio silence, the fact that Murdoch shut down the News of the World and promptly set up Sun on Sunday. In a normal society, he would have been turfed out of the country.

The press media’s methods have been suspect for many decades, but previously relied heavily on gossip. Hacking is just one of the latest decidedly dodgy methods and I feel sure it still goes on. The problem is that it is fed by the general public, whose interest in salacious gossip and news stories grows year on year.

He tries to make it sound like he's joking, but it just comes across as a glimpse at the real Piers. I think it's the same episode where Morgan complained that he didn't get a laugh but Eddie Izzard did for saying the same thing only for Hislop to explain "That's because they like Eddie".
Hislop fought captain Bob through the courts. That was why Morgan and hislop didn't like each but hislop won in the end. On the night that captain Bob died hislop made a pointed joke that captain Bob was bobbing along...a very sick and darkly funny joke.
