Word to the wise. The 'final straw' that prompted Lee and Bill to leave the band was during their US tour. Long story short, Mick's ego was already troublesome for the band (touring is a very stressful time for most bands) and essentially Mick and Shane's erratic behaviour was too much for Bill and Lee who were effectively the opposite end of the scale in terms of attitude and personality. Of course, as already stated, the two had bands of their own and so when the tour ended, they quit. For the record, Lee Dorian and Bill Steer are 2 of the most genuine people you could ever hope to meet.

Lee left because Dig used his residual to cover some expenses on whatever nonsense thing. He also couldn't stand Mick. This has been documented in various forms for years and years. Way to rewrite history as always, and LIE Earache.
It's weird that Earache would even talk about them as they have been fighting eachother for quite some time, Barney has a strong dislike for the label and it's obvious why.
They sold truckloads of albums and lee was flat broke . One of Bolt Thrower told me that the sleeve of their new album on Earache was the most expensive thing the label had done up to that point and it was paid for by Napalm Death. "Do they know that?" "I doubt it."
I like the new Napalm Death stuff, but it's harder for me to make it through an entire album than their older stuff. I do prefer the 90's I miss Barney's old vocals. Just seems weird that Mitch is in limbo and no one is sure when he's coming back
To be honest, the last album I liked was Utopia banished, the following albums did nothing for me, and my favorite records will always be Harmony corruption and Mentally murdered.

I met Bill at a Carcass show and yeah, he's a great guy, very down to Earth and thoughtful.

100% with you on this

Huh, looks like 5 studio and 3 eps according to wikipedia,

Matthew Allen yes it is.

It pisses me off that he doesn't get any recognition, he wrote excellent lyrics.
Also they used a picture of Justin, when he said Nik went on to do Scorn
Fun fact; Embury's first recorded performance was Peel Sessions 13th September 1987, and that is a twelve songs in 5:40 monster of a release.

At one of their last shows in Japan, I believe Lee quoted Johnny Rotten by saying, “Ever get the feeling you’ve been cheated?”
Napalm goes even further back than Earaches releases. They were an anarcho punk band that had a track on Crass' bullshit detector compilation.
It would be great if you guys would go deeper with Al about all the bands mentioned. There is gold in there.
I like Cathedral, but I can’t believe Lee split.
