I don't know about that stadium ace spec... it sounds good, but that means your opponent can use it, and if they are using stage 2 pokemon but a different ace spec, then essentially, they have 2 ace specs
Exactly, the effect is amazing, but I wouldn't want to use it because it helps my opponent too
This is exactly what I was thinking, so I'm assuming you'll run vacuums/other ways to get rid of the stadium after you use it. Of course if you can tell your opponent is playing a deck that doesn't run stage twos then you have nothing to worry about.

There are Evolution pokemon with attacks that destroy stadiums. You can use it and then destroy it so they can’t have it.

Guaranteed Rare Candy as a Stadium is nuts. I imagine you can also use it as a free evolution search because nothing on the card says that you can't search for a Pokemon if it doesn't have a Stage 2. It's evolution from the deck though, so no coming into play abilities I think.
the come into play rule your right about that but most Pokémon just need to be there as apposed to being put down on the bench. This ace card isn't very good for you its better for the opponent because they might have a board ready and just need to evolve there mons so you gave them the green light.
The big thing I see about the stadium is it takes fear away from tm devo. Drop rare candies for the middle stages and play away.

I could see galvantula getting a 1-1 line in raging bolt. Could buy you a crucial turn in the mirror/against other 1hko decks. Could make it hard for Gardy to set up properly. The deck wouldn't have to change all that much to support it.
I really like the potential combination of the new colress's obsession supporter for the new tree stadium + double turbo to evolve a pidgeot ex. Attach double turbo and use blustery wind to discard the stadium after you're set up so your opponent cannot use it and you're no-longer vulnerable to technical machine devolution plays if you don't have a mist energy.

I think there are going to be a lot of games where your opponent leaves venerable tree out because they can make even better use of it than you can.
I mean if you use this hopefully it’s because it’s incredible for your deck

That venerable tree card is going to be amazing in some decks! Like my dual stage 2 garchomp ex / tyranitar ex deck with a biberal sqwovet engine. The biberal engine slowly evolves up all the stage 2s and this card does it for you.
Omg I love this deck!!! I have tried it on PTCGL but it's not that viable though. Does it work well for you?
Huh, you use a similar deck to mine then.
Mine works wonders, I combine Garchomp with Tyr and Lucario, and I dont actually need any draw engine in my deck besides the ocassional Greninja.
Lucario can work well too. Mine is basically a dump resources and attack style deck. I will link my build in the other reply here.
@dreamerscastle It is a viable deck for sure. It may never be “meta” but it is good. I have gotten the deck to be able to consistently setup and get rolling with little difficulty. It has tons of Pokémon search. It also has tons of discard with things like explorers guidance to dig into the deck looking for combo peices and to discard energies, gengar, and the setup cards you no longer need late game. I suggest giving it another shot with the list I am posting bellow. And with bibarel sqwovet you can slowly evolve benched Pokémon while attacking with another.

I would be forever grateful if you reconsider the pronunciation of my favorite dog Pokémon to its proper form. It’s based off the dachshund dog. Which is pronounced “docks-on” the ch makes a ck sound. Similarity with our well baked friend, it is “docks-bun”. This is my favorite type of dog as I have a beautiful brown one named Zoey who I played the entirety of scarlet and violet with her right by my side. That’s why I’m always correcting people on this lol. Thanks so much, love you and the program, keep up the amazing work my friend!
I’m gonna secret box search for iono, venerable tree, maximum belt, and prime catcher.
This is one literally a turn 2 broken version of Forest of Giant Plants. The downside is the waiting period and hope your Dreepy Charmander or Pidgey Frigibax or Bidoof don't die early
Yeah and the reason Forest of Giant Plants was broken is that it’s an immediate thing, waiting until turn 2 removes all of the broken aspect of it, this new stadium is on the same pace as rare candy so it’s not cheating evolution
I like the stadium, it's combo with colress + Vacuum + Cram for water decks is super then if you polay a second colress you could use gate to accel energy for a non lost deck. This is great for a dragapult.
Galvantula sound like a fun idea for a Blissey disruption build

I can finally play Arboliva with this new stadium let’s goo and it’s not hopium (truthfully tho this does open some new fun decks even if they might still not be meta)
I think the best use case for the ace spec is dragapault. Maybe a couple turns in you have a pidgeot set up and you can search for the stadium and use that to build up your drakloak and dragapault
guzma and hala tag team is reborn with colress tenacity, if ykyk. this ace spec stadium card and the other, are some crazy cool strats, sweet cards to play with in standard, lol, feels like an expanded card
I honestly love the venerable tree, anything for more stage 2 support. However, I do think it will mostly just bolster the position of all charizard, dragapult and pidgeot ex decks in the meta.
The spider can be used with regies with the extra bench stadium
I saw a translation of this card that read it as if you have to get a stage 1 first before getting the stage 2 to evolve. If that’s the case, wouldn’t you need to use Arctibax with Bax decks? It said something like “get a stage 1 and evolve your basic in play. IF YOU DO then get a stage 2 to evolve the stage 1. The “if you do” part made me think it’s a requirement but I could be wrong haha
Ok, so i need to know how this stadium interacts properly.
Now, if i understood this correctly, you can essentially evolve your basic to stage 1 after a turn has passed and then immediately evolve to stage 2 on the same turn right after going to stage 1, right?
If this is the case, this is pretty busted. Charizard will love this. Major power creep

If your deck doesnt run as many stage 1 Pokemon, you have to add those in to benefit from the stadium.
Yep, or if your stage 1 is prized then the stadium is wasted.
This stadium is like...... BROKEN!!!!!!!! Its soooooo good. the few downsides are that you will have to play stage ones, and some ability's only work when you play them from your'e hand so Charizard ex won't work. Also you're opponent can use this, so if you play against a deck which will gain a lot from using this you might want to play it, use it, and then lost vacume it away. But I still think its amazing because its just that good!
Daschbun EX in Blissey EX?
You can move the energy to a pokemon that is healed already with Blissey's ability so you don't lose them, and then you get to fully heal your stupidly tanky blisseys
Just by going off of the energy requirements for Galvantula, it might prove useful in a Raging Bolt/Teal Mask deck
Dashbun could be interesting in Greninja since you can search it out when/if you need it, but also you only lose 1 energy anyways.

About Venerable Tree: how many attackers have “discard a stadium” and would like to have a single Stage 2 in play?
There’s Lugia, but it can accelerate Archeops on its own. Perhaps he can use this as a backup in case somebody snipes both.
Roaring Moon also discards a Stadium, but doesn’t like Hydreigon’s acceleration (it’s worse Metang in a pure Dark deck).

I think the tree will be good in non terra stage 2 decks because I feel like the terra Pokemon just benefit far more form the new terra tool
Big Tree can be good at the right time or they play only base Pokémon

Ok, hold up... a stadium that basically allows you to rare candy without even needing the pokemon in your hand????? And you don't even need to discard or really do anything negative the pokemon put in play from said stadium??
I must say, when I first saw prime catcher I immediately thought there would never be an ace spec that would come close to it in terms of playability. I thought 90-95% of decks would play prime catcher and the rest would play whatever Rouge replacement their deck required. However, again and again, TCPI blows my mind with the amount of healthy, playable one of's players get to choose from in terms of ace specs. It's a brilliant way to make the metagame healthy with a wide range of decks that can do well while keeping players guessing what deck will win the next big tournament. I thought it was going to be another version of radiant cards where you have one dominant radiant while one or 2 others can fit into decks on occasion to fulfill a purpose. I couldn't be happier at being wrong here and look forward to seeing what's next for competitive pokemon 😊
Not sure if Charizard would need this but you could evolve Pigeot and Zard just having Ultra ball: U Ball-> Lumineon-> Arven-> candy seal stone->Pigeots done-> getting Zard. Playing Rossane Backup could let replay this again unless next turn opponent has vacuum.
tree sucks, imagine giving your opponent the ability to use this on thier turn they get zard or dragapult or baxcalibur ex then they Prime catcher you, if it wasnt an ACE spec it would be GREAT but it is and it sucks im sorry, the ability is GREAT but you give the option to your opponent
Didn’t address the other player utilizing the stadium themselves.. Allowing them to benefit from my Ace Spec isn’t as appealing.

If he had a good attack I think it could be a great card in some decks like the table garchomp ex that attacks for one energy. But otherwise… nope unfortunately.
