- Happy Monday everyone!! We're back with another round of @PokeRev packs today, and this time, we've got his new PokeRev Version 5.0 Mega Mystery Bonus packs!! These packs have not come without criticism, so today, I'm opening 3 of them, going through all of the details and even offering a little feedback on these packs, as let's be honest here for a second, while they are gambling, $60 for these is just too much for people to spend. I opened 5 of the new rev packs the other day. Pulled the throwback packs, and let me tell you the pack selection was awful. Sun and Moon base, burning shadows, crimson invasion, roaring skies, and cosmic. Never buying rev packs again
Be grateful that you got a throwback mystery pack lol. How unfnrateful pulling one of the more rarer things you can and you still complain. Pretty pathetic.

I retired from buying all mystery packs. The PoGo, S&V base and even Obsidian is not great.

Thanks for confirming my doubts on buying a few of these. All greens wasn’t even the worst part, pack selection is bad. Also, didn’t even think about even if you pulled the red, might still be in the red with the $60+ cost.

They don't have booster boxes, only specialty packages. Much harder to source I think.

Man I always thought of getting one of these but I think I’ll stick to Walmart lol I really don’t like the scarlet and violet sets except for a couple, but I usually go for some sword and shield in Walmart. Don’t wanna spend 60 for a bunch of packs I wouldn’t like anyways

I’ve been saying for the last 2 years how awful PokeRev is to his fans. He charges double market value for his Tuesday box openings and his audience praises him for it. He complains on every pack he opens that doesn’t have a major hit as if he needs it when he has millions of dollars. He can lick the bottom of my shoes.

I love rev and his channel but multiple times I've I got S&V line up no 151 or Paldean fates and he throws pogo in the lineup then pogo is also in the green packs so I've been double pogoed 3 times I think but his gold tiers are sick

I got one rainbow. It was fun, i opened all the packs. Gold was heartgold triumphant and silver was b&w. I never personally spend 100+ a pack so 🤷
CTR said it best, PoGo in these mystery packs is diabolical. Also that last pack was the worst lineup ever, wow! Kind of wish I hadn’t bought 2 of these myself! 😅

to completely honest I rather just buy the singles or like you said just buy the vintage packs. The Poke Rev mystery packs are honestly worth opening if you have alot of money to spend and you don't care if you get bad pulls. Also for putting in Pokemon Go packs into mystery packs is like trying to sell kids those trick r treat packs for 5 dollars when they come knocking on your door lol.
I am glad to say that I have never purchased anyone's mystery packs, ever. When I see them I just think "I can buy a lot of singles with that money". Yes I get the appeal of older packs and if it's worth it to you go for it but I'd tell you no every time, It's just added gambling. Buying official Pokémon product is already a gamble if you will make money or but realistically we all lose money most of the time when opening packs(but It's fun) now you're adding another layer of gambling on top by buying these mystery packs and the chance you will get something good keeps going down as you keep adding in more variables and the price you pay just goes up. You can do so many better things with $60, remember that even if you do get a vintage or BW, or the SM/XY era pack the chances you even hit a base ultra rare are low because the pull rates were so low.
Its tough with the mystery packs. I get thay sword and shield is going up in price and less available so youll see more scarlet and violet. The older middle generations are going up as well which make the red and silver more costly to provide. Its difficult to see green tiers though with obsidian flames and po go and then when you get sword and shield its crown and silver tempest which can easily be found in stores. I dont think rev is trying to scam anyone. I believe he is truly trying to offer a good product but this most recent release gives me the impression he doesnt understand what most people in the market truly like and want.

When he had more sword and shield in the packs it was better and I haven’t seen anyone really hit any gold or red packs for the special packs not gonna lie . I use to think he had good mystery packs until he came out with these . Percentages on hitting value is way worse and why didn’t he put twilight masquerade in there instead of pokemon go

Watch the PokeRev video from a year ago where he ranks SW&SH sets and he puts Pokemon GO as BAD. Now he has it in his mystery packs. Scummy in my opinion.

At almost $10 a pack its a bit much. And the whole "10:1 chance" etc is just a gimmick. You can buy 20 and get all greens.
If I were to buy packs I'd just go to costco and scoop up a bunch of their stuff when the packs are around $2 a pack. I have even seen sales where its $9.99 for 9 packs.
If you have enough disposable income you do you and buy stuff like this. I do and still wont buy them. $500 for 50 packs from Rev or $500 for 250 - 500 packs from Costco?

I really don’t like how pokerev broke down his COGS in the controversy video. He’s had his warehouse stocked to the brim since he started his channel. Initially using it in videos to write off the investment as a business expense and now double dipping by hiking up the prices of said merch to sell back to his fans. He doesn’t resupply his warehouse for each mystery pack drop so showcasing individual eBay listings to prove his point was laughable. Scumbag in my eyes.

As someone who has only ever watched these be opened, they're a rip-off. Paying 10 dollars a pack to mostly just get S/V packs, and sometimes getting lower-end era packs for S/M and XY, its really bad. The pack selection is also really unfair, you're paying 10 per pack for really bad sets. It's a gamble on top of a gamble, and a really horribly priced one at that. They're fun, but at 60 dollars I would absolutely never buy them and don't think anyone should

These Rev mystery packs are criminally bad and his reasoning for the price jump and lower quality pack selection is just BS to save face and squeeze some money out of his fans with the selection of packs he can’t sell.
Pokémon Go, Scarlet and Violet Base, silver tempest, lost origin, etc are all flooded in the market due to overprint and reprints. Pokémon go is just a flat bad set and anyone placing these in his mystery packs doesn’t care about his fans enjoyment or getting their value back he just wants to make money. Genuine or not he’s fleecing people plain and simple. $63 for 6 packs and 5 of the packs are sub $4 in value is laughable. The one or two evolving skies packs I’ve seen for every 5-10 packs opened is the craziest to me. Respect for showing these for what they are. Overpriced garbage.

Do you watch Ryan's lives? He opens thousands of dollars worth of packs for people's entertainment on a weekend. He doesn't open as much vintage because the cost would be ridiculous when he's opening packs for 2 to 4 hours friday and saturday to hang out and have fun. Never asks for a cent. He even gave Rev a hard time in his review of the revs packs for including po go. I'll give you he's changed but he is not like other youtubers.

I bought one pokerev pack for Christmas last year, got a silver pack with Dragons Exhalted in it…but that pack looked resealed. So idk if for ours, maybe he bought loose packs and got scammed or what, but it did look resealed…I would buy again next Christmas in the hopes that my luck is different, but out of all the mystery packs out there, I do think pokerev’s is the most genuine.
His are definitely the most genuine! I doubt he would knowingly put a resealed pack in there. He buys booster boxes for these, so it must have been a factory issue with the pack, I would guess.
Did you open it to find out? I doubt it's been resealed. I got a Silver tier Next Destinies at Christmas that remains sealed for now, but weighed it, it's heavy and should have a holo at the least. Definitely a legit pack.
@@PokeCuzTCGExactly Cuz. Whatever else anyone thinks of Rev's packs, they're 100% legit (and I believe Vault's and Vert's are too). The issue, as you reference in this video, is pack selection for the regular packs. In his explanation video (to rebut criticism) Rev intimated that Sword and Shield packs will appear less and less in these because they're getting too expensive to make including them financially feasible. Take it at face value and decide if that matters. And the odds are, just like buying a lottery ticket, you're going to lose money. And those odds are transparently stated on the packaging, so everyone should know what they're buying into.
