7:51 Luckily, the city of Pattaya employs a large cohort of young ambassadors who are more than happy to help you (for a modest fine, er... fee) while away the hours, and they even know the locations of various short-time stay accommodations where you can relax until your reservations are ready. It's mostly young women doing the hostessing, but I find it never hurts to inquire if uncertain. Either way, good on them for helping young women to enter the workplace. A win-win for everyone!
I’m generally a happy person. My job is specialised and well-paid, my wife is wonderful, and I’m looking forward to dinner with my 81-year-old mother tomorrow-she even joins us on holidays! Still, I miss the freedom I had as a student. We get 30 days of leave a year here in Germany, which is generous, but what are six weeks annually when men live about 80 years? At nearly 60, I plan to retire at 65. I’ve been saving diligently for 20 years, yet I can only manage one trip a year. Stopping now would risk everything I’ve worked so hard for. Your reflections on stress resonate with me, though I don’t feel stressed here in Germany. What I crave is more freedom. Responsibilities pile up, but I can see the finish line-perhaps in six years. Meanwhile, I appreciate the structure I’ve built and the stability it provides. I wonder if what you missed in the U.S. was stability or direction. Americans often seem rushed and lacking structure, which might stem from fractured family dynamics-though I don’t judge. It’s evident in how they eat, walk, and talk. That said, I admire how you’ve created your own structure. What you might still need is a good friend or partner. I wish you all the best! It’s a shame I can’t invite you for a beer, but I’ll be in Pattaya in March if you’d like to meet. Warm regards from Germany-take care!
@@LarsAndersen-ig9yt I do find it rather tiresome when comments are made by those who have yet to truly understand my country. Aloha my friend, another insightful topic about mental wellness. Sometimes traveling to another country like Thailand for metal and health wellness is required for a balance mind and soul. I have been viewing many expats expressing their concern about the over tourism in Pattaya, Phukett, Bangkok and Koh Samui. And other locations in Thailand like KOHON KAEN, CHON BURI, UDON THANI, KOH PHANGAN, SURAT THANI and the ISAAN REGION are more peaceful and more THAI culture. Have you visited these locations ? Mahalo and always looking forward to your new video.
Can I ask? If you had no pension coming, no benefits coming, nothing coming, no property and zero assets, how much money do you think you would need to retire?
Oh my, well I would try to have $10,000 emergency fund built. Then have $1500 to $2000 a month coming in from your investments. You can survive on $1000! But it’s not fun
Such an inspirational video to help others Chris...well done 😍..mental stress is real...esp. when you don't have anyone to confide in...everyone needs to have at least ONE good soul mate/friend in Life! BTW what are your travel plans like for 2025? curious whether you plan that far ahead:)

It concerns me how much oil was used to make that omelette. We know about the dangerous effects of heated vegetable oils. I'm sure it could have been made with much less oil.
Brother, the only thing I worry about in Southeast Asia how they fry everything in the vegetable oil, your morning eggs looks amazing but the freaking oil they were cooking it’s probably 100percent vegetable. Can they use butter or animal fat instead?

60 Baht for a Thai street omelet? Is that the average price? I swear those were at most 40 baht when I was there 20 years ago, not surprising with all the inflation going around.
@@mateor7302 When I say they where 40 baht 20 years ago i think that is a high price. A street vendor like the one he went to would have been 20-25 baht 20 years ago. 100 to 200 percent inflation in 20 years is quite hi, yeah crazy.
Back at home in Victoria Australia last night after approx 23 hrs of continuous travel from Bangkok. After a 1 month stress free holiday. Great to be home until I opened the mail! Stress! Letter from state revenue office: Dear customer(I’m not a customer I’m a bloody citizen of the state) You must notify us by 15 January 2025 if you own a home that has been unoccupied for more than 6 months. Vacant residential land tax (VRLT)applies to all Victorian homes. Specifically, if it remained unoccupied for more than 6 months- we will determine if you are liable for VRLT in 2025. WTF !!!!!! VRLT is different from land tax. It goes on: Failure to notify us by 15 January 2025 may result in penalty tax being imposed. I wonder if Communists China has such a thing? Wife and I have already booked flights back to Thailand for the 15th of March, can’t come quick enough. The only thing the letter didn’t say was Merry fucken Xmas. Yes Chris you’re spot on mate! Yeah.. you think of Bill Gates.. guy still lives in the same house.. drives an old car.. hahah lives within his massive means.. but sees the Value in everything in moderation. If you live to excess. just because you can.. pretty soon it becomes excessive... and although you money is endless.. your sense of being in touch with others.. and not indifferent to them takes over. So, it is not just average Joes.. it is the super rich that value that old adage that sometimes less is more. Nice to be able to choose .. however, it also shows there is so much more to life. Some may argue he should live it up a little more.. .. however, Bill Gats would not have it any other way.. What made him wealthy .. still looms large in his life.
I think you must mean Warren Buffett...Bill Gates lives in a massive 66,000 sq. foot mansion with a 60 foot swimming pool and it apparently also has an under water music sound system....
I’m watching this video after a stressful morning of being harassed by road pirates aka police them lying about me speeding when I had proof I wasn’t speeding because it was tracked on my gps but I will lose this case even though I have proof this country is just a big money grab. When I lived in Asia I never had issues with police or driving if your not committing crimes police don’t bother you but here in the states their job is to harass law abiding citizens for money instead of arresting real criminals. I can’t wait to move back to Indonesia where I have a stress free life. When I came back to America it’s feels like it’s a dark cloud over this place the sun and nature even feels different.
No Elon musk is not a minimalist . He’s a fascist libertarian who very much enjoys his materialistic lifestyle. Far from and a complete opposite Henry Thoreau and the meaning of minimalism.
Anyone groen man who decides to live in pattaya will always have that stigma of sex tourist attached to them. I personally couldnt live there. I get lonely in asia and get bored. Also, I dont being reminded daily that I am a sex tourist. I am 46 and its bundantly obvious to everyone. Even, though I dont drink, smoke, or do drugs. First time there it was 1998 and I was in the navy. The last time there it was 2023 and there was a noticeable change for me. I didnt like it. the level of crazy and hostile expats is too high for me.
I did for a month. It was so boring I almost died of boredom. They have a small sex tourist section as well. But I had a gf with me. Place is super duper hot as well.
Obviously you know nothing about nutrition. Exactly what nutrition is in what you are eating? Start with fried. What cooking oil are they using? Enjoy clogged arteries. Does anyone know where I could rent an electric guitar in Pattaya/Jomtien? Are there any musical instrument shops around anywhere?
This is an interesting question!
I would like to know too
Dude - go spend a few days out on the island 🏝 of Koh Larn! I look forward to seeing ur perspective of island life off Pattaya!
Cheers
I will for sure !
Thailand is good for the Soul, Mind and Spirit :)
Stress free living in a affordable country with friendly people and a welcome relief from the political madness the rest of the world is mired in. Been here for over 3 years now and never planning on returning :)
I agree with you :-)
Ty
You are most welcome
Look forward to your videos, you’re a beacon of light, to us western slaves, our day shall come as well. Being who you are, it appears you would have been a good husband, and now a good father, friend and a relative, I am sure. You family must be proud of you. Keep up the good work!!
Very kind comment thank you
Merry Christmas
Something ihavent seen you address is loneliness - I saw your Hawaiian vids and the wonderful connection to your kids. You never appear with anyone else in your Thai vids so wondering about this. Would appreciate a few vids on this from your perspective
I will make more videos on this :-)
Good vid man . ✌🤙
You are close to 20k .. niiice .
Thank you
Merry Christmas
I am wondering about airline costs and how to get a good price traveling from one country to another?
Firefly or scoot airlines
Low cost
I do like Chiang Mai :-)
Good!
Thank you !
Merry Christmas
What was the name of that bus station you arrived in when you got to Pattaya
Pattaya Bus Station
Oh my
I just tell the scooter cab “bus station to Bangkok “ haha
@@RetireandGo No. I meant in total wealth.
I relax on Soi 6
True
Merry Christmas
I was wondering about you leaving your pack there like that
We have to be cautious for sure
Toss a apple tracker in it
Such an inspirational video to help others Chris...well done 😍..mental stress is real...esp. when you don't have anyone to confide in...everyone needs to have at least ONE good soul mate/friend in Life!
BTW what are your travel plans like for 2025? curious whether you plan that far ahead:)
I agree!
2025 will feature some new countries and then back to Southeast Asia :-)
@@RetireandGo Is South East Asia your favourite region in the world?😜
@ I would say yes
Through my 50s it will be home
What about you?
@@RetireandGo lived in South East Asia for close to a decade...just retired ..🙂
we love Thailand but find it tiring after a while with so little English spoken...
i couldn't do what you do...the constant moving around will kill me haha!
I can easily cook my own breakfast 90%
Nice!
What camera and mic do you use for your videos
iPhone pro max
Incredible cameras !
I created my own wind block for the phone
It’s pretty cool
I’ll show it again
Hi did you sell every single thing you owned or left some stuff in USA.
My backpack has 99 percent of all my possessions :-)
It concerns me how much oil was used to make that omelette. We know about the dangerous effects of heated vegetable oils. I'm sure it could have been made with much less oil.
I totally understand
It’s a fair point
Brother, the only thing I worry about in Southeast Asia how they fry everything in the vegetable oil, your morning eggs looks amazing but the freaking oil they were cooking it’s probably 100percent vegetable. Can they use butter or animal fat instead?
I understand
It’s a fair point to make
Hi, Is 18 Coins centrally located in Pettaya and is it near the baht bus? Also why you choose this over your other favorite, Sutus Court?
Same area in Soi Bukhao and baht buses everywhere
I thought it would be cool to check it out
Nice room !
Looking forward to living in a more affordable country, where rent is more agreeable, and I'm able to live life, not just "exist" ❤😊
I agree with you
That’s the way
I'm always good thanks to having a Stoic mindset
Very nice
Merry Christmas

It’s about 7kg

You will love a weekly massage
It’s therapeutic

It’s long days man
But I got to see the family for the holidays :-)
Merry Christmas to you
Ok, don't let the talk about deficit in America fool you, it's a ruse. #mmt. But everything else about stress you are saying is true.
Thank you and have a good Christmas!
:-)
60 Baht for a Thai street omelet? Is that the average price? I swear those were at most 40 baht when I was there 20 years ago, not surprising with all the inflation going around.
WOW it's crazy prices have increased in 20 years
@@mateor7302 you speak a women
@@mateor7302 i tried to responded but you tube block my comment. so I will try this. You talk like a hole
True
I think it’s average now
@@mateor7302 When I say they where 40 baht 20 years ago i think that is a high price.
Another great vid.
Oh my
I think this is coming to the US as well
Boss how you handle dating while on the go? You try to meet local regular women for dating or more like mingle and jingle with bar girls?
I’m actually enjoying some solo time right now in my life :-)
Yeah.. you think of Bill Gates.. guy still lives in the same house.. drives an old car.. hahah lives within his massive means.. but sees the Value in everything in moderation.
Thank you for this comment
Merry Christmas to you as well !
They antagonize you in the west
You never see them in the east
That breakfast doesn’t look very healthy
I understand
Check out Hua Hin ok?
I did for a month. It was so boring I almost died of boredom. They have a small sex tourist section as well. But I had a gf with me. Place is super duper hot as well.
Obviously you know nothing about nutrition. Exactly what nutrition is in what you are eating? Start with fried. What cooking oil are they using? Enjoy clogged arteries. Do not eat anything fried there. Next, a coke. Have any clue how much sugar is in even 1 coke?
Yes, I know Thailand well. Especially Pattaya. Man’s world.
You must be the life of the party 😂

What an opening line
Chill ok?

I’m not sure what you mean, can you explain a bit more please ?
That "Cheap" Street Food & Restaurant Diet is "Self Destructive" (horrible advice) .. Esp r/t selling / preaching "Healthy Lifestyle" ..
You know you love it
You fill your hotel bath tub up with cheap street food and just soak in it! I know the truth !
