Hi Gabriel, what a day! It's nice. Just enjoying the beach and getting the sun is nice. Mexico is still extremely popular to visit around the world it must be one of the most visited places in the world. Nice resorts, great beaches, tasty food, beautiful locations to visit.
As I sit here in a cold Reading, England, I wish I was there with you! Loving travelling vicariously with you. It's been a while since I've been to Mexico. Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas from Tokyo, Japan! I'm American living and working here. I have relatives in Colima and I recommend Manzanillo if you're interested. Always warm temps and usually a local feel. I haven't been there in 6 years and can't say it's the same now but the resort area is nice. Your videos make me want to return soon. Thanks for your work!
The maximum temperature here is 14 degrees here in Dublin Ireland, and it definitely does not feel like Christmas! It has never been this warm in December before. Enjoy that beautiful sunshine.
Glad to see you back in Mexico. Loving all the vids! I was surprised you didn’t enjoy Puerto Escondido. Punta Zicatela might be right up your alley. Slightly more laid back than Zicatela or Central. Consider giving it another look.
So we go to San Pancho, just a few minutes north of Sayulita. There are crocodile warnings on the beach there but not at Sayulita? Having lived in Greece for decades, I just couldn't swim there anyway.
same thing! same 'grey day' here, too. but that strange mist of winter has fallen, seemingly (like) today for the 1st time. watching that out my window. thank you for giving me a . . . SURREAL video!! and day . . . "looking out, on morning rain."
I wish you a Merry Christmas Gabriel. I love watching your videos and wish I could be doing what you’re doing, you have such a zest for life and you deserve the best.
Another amazing video Gabriel. Such an unspoiled place. I wish you a Merry Christmas and lets us know how you are spending Christmas day. It's Christmas today here on the Sunshine Coast Australia. A stunning day!!!!
My first time there was in 2011. Went back in February and we had a blast. We really liked to small down San Pancho, which is a 5 min taxi ride from Sayulita 😊
Great advice on beaches in Mexico. I haven't been on the pacific side of Mexico yet. Nice video overall. Wonderful to watch on a dark, grey and boring Christmas eve. 🙂
Hey, Gabe, I used to go there in the 90's, and almost bought hilltop land with a view of the bay for 40K in late 90's, but got cold feet when you have to have a local for the deed. I didn't mind if went back to Mexico when I pass though. I used to go to a small private beach south, instead of north towards San Francisco. In the 80's is was Barra de Navidad that charmed me.
That doesn't necessarily matter. You can get charged a fee at a bank ATM as well. As I said in the video I got charged 80 pesos for the withdrawal which is $4, that's pretty typical. It's more a matter of trying different ATMs and seeing which one has the lowest fee. But at some point you have to decide if it's worth your time to walk all over putting your card into different machines in order to save a buck or two.
I was reading about the riptides in winter in Vietnam and knew I would likely not be doing any swimming in the ocean if visiting there. I wondered why you had no fear in Greece in swimming in those remote locations.
@GabrielTravelerVideos its cool to see it 9years ago. I was there in May. I traveled onward south to the city of Comitan which at first seemed boring but ended up growing on me. Nice town square and very authentic. Good proximity to El chiflon and the Lagunas... Surely there must be so many more hidden gems of towns and beaches in Mexico esp in Oaxaca and Chiapas states. Plenty are probably as you described in that last video about being the only gringo and all eyes on you, but still the southern Oaxaca coast is intriguing me...anyway thanks for all the inspiring videos man!
Merry Xmas ⛄ Gabriel and everyone. I went to Sayulita in 2021 and walked north along the beach and over the cliff and down again onto the nice with only 6 people on it beach. Those people were French and British. Kept walking up to San Pancho.
The foot traffic disturbs enough soil @38:00 so rainfalls exposes many tree roots - & on the regular, it seems. Nostalgia for those OCD forest Rangers who might smile when planning to shut off trails for recovery up in US & CA. Future off trail bird blinds near Sayulita could be accomplished with an adequate lease, but enforcement might be yet another negotiation, we might guess. It would be nice to find some hammock zones - and I think you may have. Still, it's great to see how close shade might be or hanging high in a hammock there possibly. H Gabriel! I am a musician living up in san pancho! if you come here, let me know! be cool to meet you, I could help you with some ideas for your san pancho video, I know it here well! :)
HEY GABE! work your way up the coast san pancho, lo de marcos, mazatlan. From mazatlan take the overnight ferry to la paz ( the most beautiful beach in all of north america just south of la paz. Only 100 people per day can visit). Then cut over to todos santos, then cut back to loreto, mulege ( you will love the 5 beaches there), then guerrero negro the valle de guadalupe, then rosarito. Great video and personally learned something new with the cash and balance scam you spoke about..never ran into that one..(your decline conversion advice has saved us many times). thanks for that. cheers🍻🎅
gabe you gotta check out La paz, few hours northeast of cabo on the sea of cortez. Awesome place, beach in town is decent (10/10 boardwalk though), and amazing world class empty beaches about 15 min away (greek style, no waves). Good mix of local tourists and expats. Great food, good viibes, nice architecture, and decent prices.
If you are looking for a similar scene but a location that might be unfamiliar with an American audience, try the Canary Islands again. Its of course the only winter beach destination in the entire EU, although its not hot, around 20c in winter id say. But you can certainly swim because of the gulf stream that keep temeratures constant around the year. I know you visited already but its a large archipelago with huge variety. Like the volcanic landscapes of Lanzarote or the rugged remote beauty of La Palma and La Gomera. Also there is still some history there besides the Spanish colonial times. The Guanches were the indiginous people and they had a fascinating culture. There are still ancient cave dwellings you can visit and things like that. Their origin is really a mystery because they lacked the skills to cross the ocean so they were really cut off from the mainland for 100s or maybe 1000s of years. There are even stories about Greek explorers who went there BC and perhaps got stuck there, because there were many blonde, blue eyed indiginous people who looked very different from the Berber tribes roaming nearby Africa, according to reports from the Spanish explorers in the 15th century. There were actual wars between the Spanish and the Guanches and the locals even managed to win some battles. Its a tragic but fascinating history, with the Gaunches making last stands on their ancient holy mountains in the interior of Gran Canaria like the Roque Bentayga and Roque Nublo. Going as far as rolling giant boulders from the mountian side in to the Spanish invaders in a last ditch attempt to stop them. To this day, DNA research show that many Canarians still have Guanches blood so they didnt disappear but rather mixed in with the Spanish invaders after their defeat. Plus, and thats always a huge bonus for me, you are basically in Spain so that means everything is maintained well, good public transportation, safe and all that. Taxi's are even good because they are state-run in Spain and prices are very reasonable and scams are rare. And I think its great for video content because you can really go island hopping so lots to see and do! Of course there are also the tourist ghetto's like Playa de las Americas on Tenerife and Playa de las Ingles on Gran Canaria but those are easily avoided if you choose to do so. Anyway, for me the perfect winter "European" destination. Oh and Merry Christmas of course and thanks for all the great travel content in 2024!!!!

If you travel internationally and pull cash from an ATM, change your bank to a no ATM fee bank. In the US, Charles Schwab bank (which you mention) and Capital One. Then you’re only paying the ATM fee where you pull the money from. Also try yo only use machines that are either attached to or from a bank.
I always find it really annoying that banks charge a flat fee for withdrawls. When travelling I really dont want to carry a lot of cash with me and I also dont want to leave it in my room, even if it has a safe. But you kind of have to because when you have to pay $5 everytime you take out 50, it really adds up so you kind of have to take out a large amount and just deal with that.
@@DeputyDog-mh1yo Yeah, once youll travel more youll quickly find out US or EU bank cards really dont work in many places, especially in Asia. If they even take cards. And when they do, they often charge you for it because they themselves get charged. So, especially for small amounts its just not worth it. You would be surprized that even in a country like Germany, many businesses only take cash. Which is strange when you think about it because The Netherlands, where Im from, is just across the border and of course also EU, and its pretty much completely cashless.
🙂Jesús era un astronauta y no estaban seguros de cuál era su cumpleaños, así que lo colocaron al azar cerca del solsticio de invierno. Celebro el día de año nuevo el 22 de diciembre.
As per taking more than 10K US 🇺🇸 in cash, it's considered illegal if you don't declare it on the form on the plane in some countries and might end up confiscating it. It's best not to carry a whole lot of money 💰 as you said Gabriel. ATM cards are a better way. I took 1K in cash when I went over to India 🇮🇳 last year.
You should only use BANK ATMs actually at a bank lobby!!! most of them will provide you with your balance for free on the printed receipt and you should always decline the conversion and then they will give you the govt exchange rate, in PV the usual fee is between $2 & $5 USD unless you happen to be a customer of the bank like HSBC which is very common throughout Mexico and PV
I live in Mexico. If your bank at home has a connection here i.e Scotiabank Canada-Scotiabank Mexico there are no fees to withdraw cash at ATM’s. At my ATM’s here I have to decline their scandalous exchange rate and then decline an insurance cost should someone mug me in the 15 minutes after I leave the ATM! You do have to know how to do it here and yes there are many opportunities for the scams. Enjoy Sayulita and it’s San PAncho not San Poncho! ❤
at the 17:12 mark you walk past a place (on your right) that normally has a woman selling street food. If she is there while you are there go and get the aguachile. It's very spicy but it's the best one I've ever had. And you get to eat on a plastic stool in the road. who doesn't love that.
I've said it before, and I still think you should partner with Bedrock Sandals and be a brand ambassador and get some free sandals sent to you in exchange for featuring them on your youtube channel.

Honestly surprised how expensive meals are in Mexico. We thought food was cheaper in Mexico but now on par with Canadian prices.
Hotel rms not much cheaper either. Almost do Hawaii for what Mexico cost now
