I remember years ago meeting an american long term traveller, who funded his travels trading the us dollar against the euro. He only relied on public information available to everybody. He said it was easy to predict where the euro/dollar were heading once you knew the key words the secretary of the us federal reserve and the european official used. He also said interestingly that the most powerful person in the world was not the us president, but the secretary of the us federal reserve. The people with real money and power hung onto every word they uttered.

Not that hard to make 1500 to 3000 from 4 sources like SS, IRA, real estate, stocks, commodities, dividends, short term or swing trading, business or remote work. Expat 37 years, age 33 to 70. Have made 2 mil overseas in less than 20 hours a week. I usually worked 6 or 7 months a year. I have 0 debt. My credit score is over 800. I save invest 50% and self insure. Leveraged ETFS and options pay much better than most stocks. Most make 5 to 20% a year, but some pros nake 100 to 400%. There is certainly a learning curve and some use leverage better than others. There are many homerun stocks APPL AMZN MSFT NVDA GOOGL META KO and dozens more. Buffet makes 6 to 9 billion a year from stock dividends Some make a lot from stock options, future options, LEAPS, short sales, leveraged ETFs, stock splits. Just keep learning Minimize risk and losses. Let winners run, and cut and reduce losers. Get mentors that know more and make more. Learn from mistakes.

Thank you for giving us some really great insights on the demographic shifts going on over there. I heard of this particular issue in Japan for many years now, but it's a first in SE Asian countries. It's such an important factor that the Japanese government is paying its citizens to have more children, allegedly. Rooted in a cultural shift that initially started throughout most of the developed world in the 80s, I believe, these demographic shifts seem to be everywhere around the world today... The AGI's and the robotics are coming just in time to disrupt this model, or we could all make more babies, time will tell! lol Cheers 'mate! Keep 'em coming!

Isn't the Bridge of America considered the division, along with the canal, the line between Central and South America? IDK, only been in and out in Panama for 40yrs, resident since 1997, relocated here in 2015(wife wanted to come home). Lots of infuriating things here, buracracy over simple things, etc....but would not go back to the states! Great people/culture, and the food-no GMA, antibiotic laden food. Another thing, live in a low tourist area, was in town(Penonome) other day, walking around heard at least 6 lanuages not Spanish or English on the streets. Away from Capital & Colon, crime is really low. Panama has a lot to offer, but keep an open mind

The chicken cheese kabobs (more wrap than kabob) here are my favorite food in Thailand!! Great value at $3. More food than I can even eat in one sitting. Great flavor! I do give a small tip for food purchases. These folks work in oppressive humidity for so little pay. I figure even 10-30 baht does something for them if a handful of us give it each time.

I have slight diff take on Thailand real estate since they are opened up quite a bite to Chinese national, Korean, and Japan but mainly rich Chinese and they are buying up properties left ans right and further pushed up the price

He is right about US debt, China and other countries aren't buying US Treasury securities like they used to. Chris is also correct about buying a Condo in Thailand, they are building new ones constantly so if you buy one the value will probably go down because there's more supply than demand.

Outstanding one, I am looking much closer at Asia now, due to your content, Central America is getting more dangerous from what I see. Everywhere you go looks so organized and efficient, and safe so well done and the curry man, PEACE!!!

Everything was fine until you chimed in with your wild economic theory. Most Asian nations are expanding their industry and will open borders for workers as needed. As for US debt, Japan's debt is nearly 3X that of the US but it's just fine. Debt is okay if you are a strong nation. USA runs the world.

Good demographic info. Overbuilding means lower rents....great. Need for incoming cash means longer duration visas....great. We tend to stay in a place for one to three months as the visa allows. Longer visas will cut cost as can move to several different locations in the same country rather than to have to fly to a new country. We travel with a suitcase and a backpack, so a little more stuff, but it still allows for spontaneous change if required. Wife likes a bit more clothing items and personal care items. But still minimalist plus a little extra! LOL!

Hi Chris, great thought provoking video, thank you. A follow up video could be the changes you think that retirees and travellers to SEA should see and be aware of. For example, do you think prices and the cost of living in SEA will be even cheaper for western retirees going forward "if" they keep their investments in the west - pensions, stocks & shares, real estate etc., or, do you see the reverse happening, ie things getting more pricey or expensive, and SEA countries introducing taxies to raise money from westerners? Cheers :)
