The lighting kit is from voodoofx.com

What would be very funny is on your next build of this would be to have a transparency made of Lou so it would look like your talking to him on the commlock.

Just built this. Added sound effects on each button from my favourite episodes. Sadly never got the animated screen. Though put it on a relay circuit to light when the button is pressed for as long as the sound effect lasts. Loved Mike's metal parts. Really finishes it off.

good memories of Space1999, remember my dad getting the ship airfix kit when i was very young ( think he did most of the work building it lol) also had the toy stun gun too. love your Commlock model looks awesome :D say i REALLY enjoy ALL of your vids. seriously do. PS. ive been to evans designs to get some nice LED kits to ship to the UK here and i never noticed before but they do some extremely minute pico chips and even smaller "z" chips that are smaller than 1mm fascinating how they can make them that small.... i'm going to add a few to my Dr Who console diorama and other things me thinks 😁you should give them a go. take care & look forward to the next project

Such an awesome classic show! I missed it, having not been born yet, but kept hearing whispers.
If you haven’t looked it up, you should! It has a vintage retro sci-fi feel all its own, and compares Very Well to other shows IMO!
I Love Techy props! Nice work!

I watched this vid and immediately channeled Jack Nicholson in batman "Where does he get those wonderful toys?” 😂👍👏

I'm sure I recognize some of those sounds from Alien as well Phil, like the alien distress signal and the sound of mother thinking.

Beautiful job! I hate to nit pick, but your monitor screen cowl is upside down. The taller side should be on the same side as the 1-9 buttons. Apart from that it’s perfect.

I love how the setting switch on the gun says “KILL”. An Alphan needs things spelled out.

Would be cool to have real video on the monitor with appropriate scenes from the show, even those trees from season 2.

I bought my aluminum parts from Mike Reader.

Phil my eyesight is terrible, I use a digital microscope to do really fine detail work, I have a 10" one that I either look at or throw up onto one of my monitors. edit to say Lou's Vinyl sounds like a record shop.

Phil. This is not an "old repop". This is ALL NEW tool from round 2. It was released in 2021.

What confused was the two copyright registrations for 75 and 2001 on the box.

Another great build journey to follow you on. What paint/color did you use for the comlock main body?

After primer it got a base coat of Warm beige followed by Insignia White from Tamiya - the Insignia is my go to sci-fi color great for ships and hardware!

This kit is literally only a few years old, it definitely not a reissue of any kind.
