The worst pedal I've ever heard is my Ditto Looper. It repeats the crap I play over and over :)
HA!
Cascademenace HAH! Your cool
And PRACTICE
Cascademenace We must have had the same instructor.
Cascademenace Classic comment !
Lol
Ola Englund made it sound good.
ya cuz he used it right and put it in fx loop
@@johnhruby6205 or it's the more logical answer.... He's Swedish
hahahaha
Sure, not only Ola but lots of other players in UA-cam. It's just that this guy is a complete moron
RI Guy yeah he did
A great pedal under two conditions:
1. You have a decent tube amp
2. You're not disabled and can actually dial a tone in
Žan Naglič and 3. Dont use it on the clean channel, but with a bit distortion comming from the amp.
Simon Laird Fuck off his name is awesome. Hes a slav. And history has proven many times YOU DONT MESS WITH SLAVS.
Simon Laird Not rly. But damn your parents failed raising their child since u make fun of someone elses name.
Simon Laird I don't know shit about your parents. I'm free to assume though. And you complain about someone who "mocks" disabled people, but make fun of his name?
True
I have been using this pedal for the last 10 years. it's the only pedal I've consistently used .It isn't meant to be played with all of the knobs on 12 o clock. it's the most versatile pedal I have. it is in my opinion, a must have.
Z. S. N. 😂
This is the most versatile pedal you have??????? you dnt take your tone serious then.
I have used my metal zone for years with my practice amp and it sounds great every time with the boss sample settings. In using it on my regular rig, this pedal pushes a tube amp extremely hard and just the slightest turn of a knob can make it go from great to crap. Also, I have seen them used in a tube amps effects loop with excellent results.
It's actually really good I feel bad for the people who dont know how to use it right and think its crap
@@dawnoftheshred7757 do you own one? It actually is a very versatile pedal...anything from bluesy/fuzz to metal. The trick is dialing the distortion knob way back. Almost all of these "reviews" have the DIST knob at or above 12 o clock...which is why it has that fizz sound. You turn that back to 9 or less, and it gives it more of a ballsy rock sound.
had this pedal for years had no problem with it for metal tones people dont know how to tweek it
alvin boreo Your correct Dude, it's just figuring out what kind of tone you want metalzone to sound. It kind sound decent as long as you know the right knob combination
Its best tones aren't metal.
alvin boreo i have one i love it and all he had to do on the intro to make it not siund so bad was bring up the middle freq and bring down the middle
@@evetsnitram8866 what applications does a Metal Zone have in other genres? Not intending to be rude, just new to pedals.
@@samuelfreeman5483 I haven't toyed with one in years but I borrowed one for a while and checked out the manual that came with it and it does fuzz, distortion, and overdrive too all with amazing EQ. I recently discovered it couldn't do the hideous Swedish chainsaw metal sound that the HM-2 did. :D I had one for years and tossed it out a few years back, didn't realize it would become a coveted collector's item.
Marty: I'm not a metal player
Marty with the Metal Zone: I AM metal
I once took a pedal out of my Moms car and plugged it into my amp... That was pretty bad.
Oh, that's why she had an accident the same day, when she wanted to stop the car?!
hahahahahaha. this makes me laugh. good one
brilliant joke
Bodie R i
So I took a shifter out of my Father s car and plugged in as a pitch shifter.
Korg Miku is the worst pedal, or the best... i can't decide

Žiga Stupan how dare you it is one of the greatest pedals of all time I'm pretty sure Clapton used it

run a metal zone thru the effects loop on your amp, low at 10:00, high at 3:00, middle at 11:00, mid frequency at 9:00, distortion at 2:00-3:00. and it's actually got a pretty good metallica type sound to it.
Volume at 0
@@jimmywong8867 How do you use the pedal as a preamp? What does that mean, exactly? I'd like to know this.
@@jimmywong8867 Ah, I see. Thanks. Now I just need an expensive amp that actually has an FX loop. ...So much for the whole concept of the pedal (to not have to buy an expensive amp), lol.
@@jimmywong8867 But isn't a preamp necessary? If you're bypassing the preamp, then what is serving the function of a preamp? Surely the MT-2 doesn't have it's own preamp, right?
@@jimmywong8867 Well, it's certainly fascinating! Yes, but I'm wondering how this is even possible, given that the pedal technically isn't (nor is it designed/built with) an actual preamp. ??? O_o It defies all logic!
everyone bags on this pedal but it does 80's glam metal pretty day well. But its easy to make it sound like crap.
Michael Cunningham Exactly, and this video didn't help with it's reputation lol
'80s glam metal is crap.
profd65 dont talk shit
@DBoyy
It I talk glam metal, I'm forced to talk shit.
Keep Off well 80's glam metal is as shit as the pedal so that's why it does it so well.
These things are awesome once you dial it in! A friend of mine had one when we were in high school and had it set perfectly for hard rock/metal tones. Great amount of crunch for the rhythm sections but the leads came through really bright! I find a lot of times leads can get muddy with some distortion pedals.
Yup! I have a similar experience to You…1997 My best Friend knew exactly how to adjust the metal zone with the crate stack and it was pretty awesome…problem for most people is how to adjust it just right…
For best results, turn up the LOW FREQ and leave everything else at neutral with slight adjustments. This pedal is WAY too powerful lol. Also, if you would read the bloody instruction manual before doing a demonstration, the MID FREQ outside nob specifies which middle frequency you want to adjust, and then the inside nob is to boost or cut it. To everyone talking about this FX loop nonsense, again the instruction manual doesn't mention anything other than "Guitar-->MT2-->Amp".
Agree w turning up the low freq and everything else neutral w few adjustments
@@CALAVERASTV I put a Tube Screamer before it to add drive to my solos. Using same settings to a Marshall 410 on clean. It works for me.
Wouldn’t you just be boosting the pedal in the loop, feeding it a line level fx send signal ?
a friend of mine uses boss metal zone and dials a tone which sounds like fried balls
Uhmm is that a good thing?? lol
lol the tone gives Ear fatigue after certain amount of time
Fried balls in black bean sauce with special fried rice ;)
Malav potato annihilator let me guess, he turns all the nobs all the way up on both the pedal and the amp?
@@malavparmar7694 Tell him to run it through an Fx loop the tone will be much smoother
The real danger of the metal zone is that it's way too easy to scoop out the mids while boosting the lows and highs, which tends to sound pretty good *in isolation* but often causes the guitar to compete with other instruments in a band and fade into the background.
lol not if u put the volume at ten and they are at 4 lol
I fought with this peddle for a long time before I found it's secret.
Plugged into the front end of your amp, it soundly sucks. But if you plug it into the return of your effects loop, it essentially replaces the tone stack and preamp of your amp. Used in this way, the result is a well ballanced and divinely useable setup.
It's the only way to get it to work well.
100% the only way to use this pedal and not get that "pedal sound". Amazingly versatile and sounds a lot more organic.
So the problem is you eqing your amp
I actually think this pedal is one of the best , you can dial in fuzz to dimebag mode. distortion is distortion either way.
Birdman 1102 this pedal can get nothing close to Dimebags massive wall of fuzz. Just because it’s fuzzy and distorted doesn’t mean it sounds like Dimebag. His tone sounds way fatter, less harsh, less fizzy. This is usually the first pick up for the 6 months in beginner that wants to pretend to be in pantera or something.
brett, you are an idiot. take a listen ua-cam.com/video/_5PX4Fl6Mu4/v-deo.html
rohadt Anyad sounds nothing like Pantera or Dimebag. Sounds cheap.
Sounds like crap in a mix
@@brettlarson912 sir u are quite the expert. Please tell me what you would use?
Just kidding, kindly fuck off sir 😉
Its not 2 mids knobs, its a PARAMETER, you pick your mids with the outside knob, and you boost or cut using the inside knob, when the outside knob is at 12, there is no change in sound. You obviously have no clue how to use it. Its a very versatile pedal if you now how to use it.
jjajajajaja the only one that actually READS the pedal ! OMG... PEOPLE ! READ ! XD
Juan Ignacio Suarez yes, you should try it sometime, you might like it,
a friend of mine has one, its a great pedal,
gedaom Are people thick? It's a swept mid.
I have one and I like it. It took a lot of tweaking to get a tone I liked as the knobs are not the easiest to work with. The highs are very prickly with this pedal, so I always keep that knob well below noon. Also, increasing the mids too much makes it sound really muddy, so I keep those dialed back as well.
I loved the sound of this pedal when I was in highschool. It's kind of easy to saturate the tonal spectrum with the Metal Zone, but with a good ear, and the right mix of hardware, it can make an amazing heavy metal sound. Something about Marty's setup hurts this pedal's sound...maybe a little more low end on the amp.
The Metal Zone was meant to be used as a preamp.
Sounds amazing if used correctly, doing away with that terrible tin can sound. Probably one of the most misused pedals around.
Manual says put it in front.
@@ErrorlVlacro manual is wrong. Put it in the effects loop or use it front of amp as an overdrive to a distorted amp.
It was never "meant" to be used as a preamp. The fact it works exceptionally well as one, is another thing entirely.
Strange how Rabea from That pedal show can make this pedal sound awesome, maybe it isn't the pedal that's at fault?
its the peoples fault for putting it in front of the amp and not in fx loop
I love Marty, and I know his boutique amp is crazy expensive... but that thing sounds like absolute shit in almost every video. It’s probably way the amp is mic’d
3:40 the shit every guitar shop employee listens to on a daily basis.
So SICK of that riff.... LMAO
Been on this channel for about a year and Im loving every bit of it. Thanks Marty! Have a good day/night! see ya!
I love the Metal Zone. For playing metal at low volumes. I don't play in a band, but when I've jammed with friends, I've found that it doesn't work well for me in those situations. But by myself, it's fine, and fun. And good for playing Eruption and other such solo material.
You gotta scoop out those highs more! Give the lows a massive boost and the mids a tiny boost and it sounds pretty good.
I actually soldered the mid out of the circuit and it made it an amazing pedal
he is the most advanced beginner i have ever heard
I love when its in front of the amp instead of the fx loop and the mids are completely off it sounds awsome to me
I got a metal zone when they first came out, and at the time I remember myself and everyone involved in bands around me who liked metal, thinking it was great. Don't recall a whole lot beyond that, except that I used to put the low up as a personal preference. Hearing it was so poorly regarded all these years later was something of a surprise. Maybe it wasn't as good as I recall, or maybe tastes for tone have changed. When it came out it was one one the few affordable ways I remember being able to get sounds like a lot of the heavier bands coming out at the time (this was back in 91 or so).
True Fact: Every time I stomp on my MT-2, 2 more MT-2 magically appear at my local Guitar Center.
jmanxoom same I unplugged it and have been stepping on it all day
please do a tutorial for best amps under $200 for playing blues. thank you
KING CIARO COLLINS it's not how loud you play it's what you play
It depends on what kind of blues you want to play, but in my opinion fender amps is a go to for blues
(+bonecrusher) Fender, Fender, and Tube Screamer. Sounds amazing. 👌
Though I'm a Brit at heart when it comes to amps, and play Vox. It sounds great, IMO. Strat into Vox is pure tone heaven to me. 😌
The orange crush 35rt is an amazing amp for only $250. It's solid state but offers great cleans and dirty tones that can easy replicates expensive tube amps. great for blues and none of that modelling amp baggage. just straigt up solid state goodness.
I have a roland cube 20xl (guitar not bass amp) and it's awesome, it's got lots of effects like reverb distortion tremolo etc.
First pedal I bought. All the distortion! On a practice amp that crapped out alot and with no idea how to use the pedal. Felt let down.
A few years passed, got a better amp, got a few more pedals and learnt to mess about with them. Eventually went back to the Metal Zone and it's amazing. That ability to sculpt the sound! My wah pedal also models it so I can put one preamp and one FX loop for differing outcomes 😂
But seriously, dial distortion back to next to nothing and use it to sculpt the sound. Fantastic!
ive had mine since i was 17 and im 40 now and it stil sounds killer
sounds like you're playing through an electric fence box.
hahahahahaahahaahaha
😂
One time I saw a video on how to properly use that pedal. The answer was a SS preamp into a tube power amp like a Mesa Dual Rec. Modern Channel. Then you turn the gain down, and volume up and let the tubes soften the sound out. It wasn’t the best, but still really good.
What pick do you use?

Gotta put the pedal to the metal, or is it metal to the pedal, hard question to settle.
What is the first ever heavy metal song? Do you have an opinion Marty, does anyone know for sure?

Danny Devito, awesome riff, one of my faves for sure.

Always enjoy your videos and instructionals, Marty. I have this pedal too. Love the presentation because it does a number of things. As some folks say, it shows how to or how not to set up the pedal and amp.I am sure Marty can make it sound great or like AZZ, It is up to each player to get the sound out of the pedals as they develop their own settings. Also, I am a little confused too at your SG. Most SG Standards have Trapezoid inlays, bound necks and covered pickups. This one seems like a Special but with covered pups installed. Whatever it is, having 4 SG's myself I like it alot.
back in the day my go to was the grey dod 250 with an overdriven amp, it tightened up the low end considerably and added a lot of high end, now it's whatever into the computer and taking what it gives me
it's actually a really good pedal, you just have to tweak with it
Ian Lautzy it is ass
Ian Lautzy i had it and tried for a long time. Found like 2 settings that were "alright". If a pedal isn't as simple as plug in, dial a good tone in quickly and play then it's no good IMO
Ian Lautzy honestly i enjoyed mine i though it was good for the money but then again someones mom was selling it at a garage sail for 5 bucks lmao poor dude
Learn how to use it!!! Not hard (not the way this idiot Marty is using it either!!!)
What do you mean tweak with it? You and the pedal have to take meth? Sounds like "tweaking with it", if you ask me. 😂
"Another gear Thursday" ITS THURSDAY?!?!?

I always like to operate with my controls set to the knee of the curve, where my playing has a bit more effect. I've looked at so many pedals where the knee of the curve is set at 1 or 2 so that when you turn it higher it has little further effect. I prefer the knee of the curve to be around 7.
I use a metal zone for soloing and leads on my strat I like it, I guess it's how you like your tone I find it useful I don't have the distortion too high
7:20 sounds like burzum
This thing sounds like it'll nail old school death metal tones.
yeah definitely, it was used on butchered at birth
I remember being a kid and taking back the boss mega distortion because it didnt have enough gain lol. Got a metal zone and i fell even more in love with guitar
For metal tones, I use an MXR prime distortion into a Mesa. I tune really low, and the MXR is great for low-end punches.
Boss MT-2 are classic pedals. You just have to set the EQ the right way. One of the heaviest tones I've ever heard was a kt77 loaded 50 watt JCM800 with a MZ in front
You gotta hear this pedal through a Marshall 100w Super Lead Plexi head plugged into two Marshall 4-12 cabinets loaded with Celestion 25w Green Back speakers. 👍
Boss Metal Zone into Roland JC120 amp is amazing. Rivals any boutique tube rig.
I'm not really a metal guy either, but it sounded badass to me! Laughed like crazy when ya hit that last screaming note!!!
you gotta use it as a preamp in the effects loop then it's KILLER
I f@#kin love the Metal Zone. instant 80's / 90's nostalgia
It Djents.
Dylan See wrong channel
There is no wrong channel for djent
it dents my eardrums
From A Great Height you mean it *Djents* your eardrums 😉
Barely! lol.. This is such a cheesy tone.. I can't see even metal guys liking this one.. Just to raspy and dirty without enough oomph!
It's an incredibly effect clean boost for a high gain amp. Interesting you mentioned GC being "Incentivized" I got my first one from Sam Ash around the mid 90's.
It is not the worst pedal, It's just very very hard to dial a great tone with it. At the gates used it in their groundbreaking Slaughter of the Soul album. The Tone on that album is just beautiful and brutal at the same time.
I think is not thaaaaaat bad i mean, it's not the best pedal but it's ok if you wanna get an 80's or 90's metallica sound. Try this setting:
LEVEL 12:00
HIGH 3:00
LOW 5:00
MID-FREQUENCY 1:00
MID 7:00
DIST 5:00
Freddie Kilmister depends on guitar, strings, picks, persons hands, amp. Too much to say that would work for anyone
Freddie Kilmister i use exactly the same setting, it sounds really nice!
Those are almost EXACTLY the same settings I've settled on! I love this pedal, myself. I have bought at least 6 other pedals thinking I'd replace the Metal Zone, but in time I always come back to this Boss MT.
I love this pedal, and i built my own mod.

I bought an MXR Distortion plus. I was so disappointed. It is way too weak on clean channel. If you know how to get more gain out of it let me know. Well the mt2 paired with a boss EQ gives me the best distortion than any other pedal out there.
I dont understand why people say is the worst pedal, personally i think it sounds great for its price.
Especially if you are into metal.
I blend a distortion pedal with the gain channel of my amp. I use the amp's gain for most of the distortion and the pedal is used to alter the sound beyond what the amp alone can achieve. I set the pedal's gain low and the level high. I don't scoop the mids. Typical pedals that I use are the Marshall JH-1 Jackhammer, Behringer OD300, Boss DS-1, Metal Zone modeled effect on an RP500 patch, and recently the Behringer HM300 clone of the Boss HM-2. I'm basically utilizing distortion pedals in the manner as most people would use an overdrive like a Tube Screamer. I also really like overdrives but distortions can easily give me a more demented tone.
A friend of mine is trying to get more metal sounds and this pedal sounds like it'll fit the bill. I'm not into metal but this pedal sounds like it might provide a nice "Link Wray" tone when stacked with a reverb pedal (I have an Boss RV 6), given this pedal's "runaway chainsaw" like tones. Like others have said in the comments, it just needs to be used properly.
Ouch, lol. It's not a bad pedal. It does exactly what it claims to do. Only good for certain songs. Great for songs like "War Pigs". You can get some gnarly feedback even at low volumes. It takes a bit of fussing around to get it where you want it, and you have to like the heavy metal sound. I spend most of my time on my yellow SD-1 overdrive pedal, but when I want some really nasty distortion, I use the MT-2!
How dare you cuss sabbath in such a way
Please never record yourself doing that
That's an insult to Iommi's tone...
Bought this pedal, sold it out of peer pressure. Tried tons of more expensive pedals, went back to Metal Zone. Sold it again and ended up with it as my go-to distortion pedal. The more my musical taste got refined, the more I needed the pedal's nature, of being versatile or tweakable. Beats all the rest, hands down. Use it on an amp with tons of clean headroom and you just might learn to see its potential for tone. :)
Me too ... I think it's a great pedal ... but ... I don't play metal .. and I use it in conjunction with other pedals? ... I'm not sure what all the hate is about?
This has always been my go to pedal for that brown sound. As many here have said, it needs to be dialled in carefully. I now use it in the efx loop of my HX Stomp. It works very well with the clean amps in the Stomp.
THIS PEDAL IS AWESOME! It works so well with my Line 6 Spider amp, great metal tone!
Boss MT-2 through a line 6? Tremolo pick minor chords, Record with whatever in your basement. Viola TRVE KVLT black metal.
awesome demo
I'm not a metal guy either and I dint know too much about pedals but it sounds to me like it could be useful.
That was my thinking.
I would never take advice from someone wearing a fedora when it comes to anything metal related.
Lol so true he doesn't even play metal riffs or songs
Synyster Gates...
@juan yes he does check out his vids
RoughRide666 What does Synyster Gates have to do with metal?
It is a parametric equalizer,, the outer ring on the mid dial chooses the frequency and the center chooses which frequency is boosted or cut wit the center dial
My friend brought one over. I immediately turned the drive and treble down and mids up. Was actually really impressed with the sound.
Tube screamer and Marshall jcm 800 2203 is my favorite for good metal tone.
I used the tube screamer on my JVM210H full stack, until I got the MXR fullbore metal, havent touched it since.
That sounds like one of the least metal rigs I could think of but if it works for you that's cool
Didds What do you use?
Dave Watkins A Vox AC30 with a Tube Screamer. I'm a blues player though
Didds if you use the Tube Screamer 808 just to give volume to the input, not overdrive, and crank up the gain stages and the presence on the Marshall you end up with super tight compression and articulate drive. You can add a tiny amount of delay and a volume wah in the effects loop to give more drive and keep the amp from blowing your ear drums. My stacks are v-30s. You end up with Dave Mustaine's peaces sells tone, before his spider valve phase, Gary holt formerly of exodus and now hanneman replacement for slayer has a similar rig, Kerry kings rig is similar as well. I like 80's thrash tone so it's what I know. A lot of it is in the pups and the tuning as well...
Can you do a lesson on tame impala half glass full of wine?
Heard some Outshined in there towards the end. Maybe future lesson material?
i love this pedal I use it everyday. I like being able to use the controls on the pedal, the amp, and maybe somewhere on the wah pedal... Sounds grungy
I just got the OCD fullton...That's about all the distortion Ill ever need...Overdrive beats distortion eveytime...Oh hey Marty throw in some Eagles lessons sometime...Great classics...Thanks
(+Timothy Mahoney) Congrats on the new pedal! Anyways, I agree. Overdrive wins every day. It's more versatile. You can play blues, or metal. The OCD can be used as a distortion, though. It has more gain on tap than some distortions, LOL. But who cares, it's great. It's very versatile. I like it. It's good for metal. Overdrives into crunchy amp is the way to go for metal, IMO.
I like this pedal that most people are calling it "the worst pedal ever"😂
for a good metal tone the best is to have high outpout pickups with a high gain amp, push the mids, back down the bass a bit and push the highs. Usually gets you a good crunchy and full sound. I guess with a good distortion pedal you can get the same result on a clean amp. The rule of thumb is to not go to far into the "cut the mids and crank the bass" style because it sounds hollow.
The "mid freq" control is to select the mid frequency that you want to turn down or up , "mid control" is how much you turn up or down that frequency
With everything set to 12 O clock it sounds like blowing through tin foil
So about 7 years ago I'm playing a gig and after our set a young man ask me "hey what are you using there?" I proudly show him my Mt-2 and he smiles and gave me the ole thumbs up. Little did I know he was most likely laughing at me!!
RonnIE O. J
Hey Marty, what pedal did you step on before you played your big solo with blues traveler?
Awesome tone
That's an easy question Marty. The worst pedal is the one you stomp on at a gig and it's DOA (Dead on Activation).
All other pedals just have their own unique sounds. Some we like some we don't, but that doesn't make them the worst pedal ever.
But what do I know; I'm just a 70 year young Rocker. Cheers!
P.S. Love the video; I have one of those and it does Metal Good when dialed in right. You just have to find "The Zone".
JohnR242 sorry, but when people say stuff like "70 years young" it makes me cringe.
Wow! a cringe worthy statement!! Go me!! LOL
yes sir! keep on rockin. hopefully I'll be around to still keep rockin in my seventies.
Can I steal your guitar?
used to have MT-2's back in the day, as far as i'm concerned there's no point in putting the gain anything under 9, and don't even think of cutting away the low end or it'll sound thin and shitty :D
but it's kinda cute if you're looking for that uber loud compressed distorted sound
You can mod it tons of ways. Diezel mod, Bogner mod, and Overkill mod. Once modded it sounds killer. It's not gonna be a Metal Muff or a Wampler Triple Wreck, but it's a good cheap way to get greater tone out of the MT2.
how high is your guitar action Marty?
2
3.145926
420
Zachary Williams action is the measurement of distance between the fretboard and the underside of a string.
Matt x69x so I don't understand. If it falls through it's too high, if it doesn't it's too low. When is it right? It either falls or it doesn't
I love this pedal. Why does it get so much hate?
Idk man I though it sounded alright
Because they don't use it as a preamp
Because it sounds like shit
@@user-mz8iu7qx4n maybe your playing is bad 🤔
The mid frequency selects which mid frequency/ies? you want to alter, the inner dial then is used to modify the frequency/ies :)
I definitely like how it sounds, go a bit easy on the distortion and imo, I could get a decent bite-y tone
EXACTLY...turn that DIST knob to 9 o clock or less, and it won't sound so fizzy
the meat seller knows about meat.
he may have trouble when he tries to appreciate the arts of times past.
I like this guy but obviously being a not metal player ignores the potential this pedal offered 38 years ago.
Ever seen the T-Rex Dual Drive?
Worst decision of my life.
Fr3akymet4l T-rex... I though they made nice pedals since they made michael angelo batio an overdrive, then I tried some to find them suck...specially the tonebugs...I mean toneshit lol.
I play Robin Trower, All Them Witches kind of stuff..... if you put the drive right down to zero, and run a blues driver in front of it, you can get an incredible tone if you have a descent amp.
I was skeptical, but you got a decent enough tone out of it in the end
Best metal tone:
Strat bridge pickup (tightest metal sound you'll ever hear)
Mid boosting overdrive. Slight volume boost, practically no gain, but some.
Good crunch amp. Maybe on the verge of lead vs crunch.
It gets an amazing thrash sound, IMO. It's so tight, brutal, and clear as day. You just need a hot as hell power amp, and you don't need as much distortion as you might think to sound huge. Then you get a tighter, clearer, and less fizzy sound, that works really well.
Alexis Harper Strat bridge pickup meaning a single coil or humbucker? Because there are strats with a humbucker in the bridge position.
The correct answer is always humbucker. If you're single-coiling Heavy Metal, whether it's Classic Heavy Metal or necro-blaspheming-goat-ejaculating Black Metal, you're doing it wrong.
Also don't forget to cut the lows a little bit.
A regular boss distortion pedal is the best sounding distortion pedal to my ears if you have it going through the right amplifier. The boss metal Zone does indeed suck though.
Dylan See Yup. A ds1 is super cheap and can do anything from the nineties
No Boss blues driver or Overdrive can cover like all genres
I have noticed my old BOSS regular distortion sounds best through Solid state amps for me Vs tube Amps.
High gain amp, light overdrive boost pedal like a ts9 or something like that , compressor and delay for the solos, reverb and a delay that delays my right speaker about 60ms so it sounds double tracked when I’m in stereo
well i got my first ds1 ped..is it a good one?
