No stains the only thing I would have done differently is I would have done a small coffee table or something like that to practice finishing so I would not have to grind as much.
I have been watching a bunch of videos to try and figure out how to do this, and yours has been the best! It seems like buying the legit concrete from z counter form is the way to go. It looks like it flows better than mixing it with something from the store.
No I pre drilled the forms , and just made shur not to over tighten the screws ,so as not to strip them out ,I used the recommended screws from the Z countertops website. Hope this is helpful 👍
Holding up really good no stains we reseal them about every nine months but that only takes a couple minutes to do and then you have to let him drive for an hour or two. My only regret is with the square edge that I didn't round it over a little more because having a sharp edge on the top where pots and pans can hit we have acquired the some small chips on the corners here and there but nothing catastrophic
We're planning on using your video in our home to do exactly this. We have pretty much zero tools and this will be my first DIY in our home. Would you say even with zero experience this is definitely doable and will come out? Also, you mentioned at one point you messed with the color a little bit? If I was wanting stark-white tops what is that process? Also! I know concrete needs to be resealed to maintain it, how often and how do you know when it needs to be resealed?
If you have zero experience with concrete I would highly recommend trying a smaller project first like a coffee table or bed stand / in table 2 learn on and feel out if you are comfortable doing it. If you do commit to doing the kitchen you will definitely want three people minimum there to help. As far as the white goes see countertops has their Altra white dye packs which we used to help us make it whiter. As far as ceiling goes I would recommend every 9 to 12 months we just recently did just the spot where we use the countertop to most often and it's a very quick process took 15 minutes to apply sealer let it dry for 2 hours before we use the counters again and was good to go. Thanks for watching the video hope your project goes well !!
Olga Mejia they where not hollow so I just ground them flat the reason they appeared is because I had very little concrete experience and I overworked it during the finishing process I would recommend watching some videos on how to finish before you take on the project to avoid this

Any issues with the countertop or things you would have done differently. Any staining?
No stains the only thing I would have done differently is I would have done a small coffee table or something like that to practice finishing so I would not have to grind as much.
I have been watching a bunch of videos to try and figure out how to do this, and yours has been the best! It seems like buying the legit concrete from z counter form is the way to go. It looks like it flows better than mixing it with something from the store.
Thanks I have done both now neather are to bad .I will always buy the z counter top forms though nothing beats them
Did you put plastic over the counters to slow down drying? If so is it necessary?
It will greatly minimize the chance of cracking I also took a spray bottle of water and lately wet them down under the plastic each day
Im so glad i saw this video. Ill be doing this exact thing. When i order from z countertop forms I’ll mention you
Ricardo C thank you...
Great job I'm going to do this.
Very nice! Are they still holding up well? Any staining or issues? I like the shine on them.
No staining holding up very well we re seal them about every 9 months but that only takes about 30 minutes to do
Looks great! What was your total cost?
Awesome video, thanks!
Did u have any problems screwing the forms and not holding on to the durock
No I pre drilled the forms , and just made shur not to over tighten the screws ,so as not to strip them out ,I used the recommended screws from the Z countertops website. Hope this is helpful 👍
Awesome job!
Thank you
Well done! Those edges look great!
Thanks for a well-documented video. Since it's been a few years since you've poured these - how are they holding up. Any stains?
Holding up really good no stains we reseal them about every nine months but that only takes a couple minutes to do and then you have to let him drive for an hour or two. My only regret is with the square edge that I didn't round it over a little more because having a sharp edge on the top where pots and pans can hit we have acquired the some small chips on the corners here and there but nothing catastrophic
@@amcustomfab Thank You - good tip
So what happened to the bubbles? Did you have to patch/fill them in? They look good!
Olga Mejia they where not hollow so I just ground them flat the reason they appeared is because I had very little concrete experience and I overworked it during the finishing process I would recommend watching some videos on how to finish before you take on the project to avoid this
@@amcustomfab ok thank you!
Looks amazing.
Good job man think for share this
Thanks for watching !
Looks great! Very nice job.
The front edge of the long sink length at 34 seconds looks questionable at best, is that the norm on longer lengths?
Not normal on a long straight like that I should have supported my seem with a some sort of straight edge.
Ah ok, if you figure out a fix you should make a video as you turned out a really nice job.
I want that now!
