- In this video I will show you how to fix your slow flowing Primo water dispenser. All you will need is a pair of pliers and a paper towel. You will be thrilled you don't have to replace the dispenser! I made this video because I couldn’t find anything online to help me fix this expensive machine. I was ready to replace when I discovered the simple solution.

Yeah, had no clue when I posted. My van ac went out this weekend. Thought I'd be out $1000 as it wasn't cooling, maybe compressor. I had the same issue and once I removed the filter piece, I noticed a chunk of sludge. I cleared it out and now have full flow once again. No more waiting for over a minute to fill up my water bottle. Thanks for the video!

I know this is an old comment but I recommend putting the screen back in there as insects could easily make a home for themselves in the split hose section.

Ha! Well actually they emailed today and asked if they could link to my video, which I said was fine. Overall we love our water despensor and so far this little fix has kept us going for years.

I bought my first dispenser in 2013 and after a few months I couldn't figure out how to fix it. There was no info on line anywhere so I pitched it and bought a new one. This screen should be mentioned in the owners manual with advice to keep it clean. If not, Primo needs to add it.

THANK YOU for posting this. Nothing in the documentation that came with the water dispenser referred in any way to a filter. We would not have figured it out without this video.
I just did this and it works! I took out the filter which was clogged with a clear gel-like gunk, washed it under running hot water, sprayed some vinegar cleanser and used a clean toothbrush to brush off the build-up, rinse and voila! The water now dispenses freely. The Primo website is useless, no troubleshooting tips at all. Thank you very much for sharing this.

I can’t believe how simple the solution was! Thank you! Manufacturers should include this vital bit of information. Also, not replacing the screen; it was rusted and breaking apart. I imagine I’ve ingested much of the particals over time.
I wouldn't doubt that primo co.and would rather keep this little quick fix under wraps. This issue has probably generated tons of revenue for these primo people!

Absolutely spot on. I easily removed mine with a gentle pull using my fingers. The screen didn't look clogged. I blew air through it and replaced it. Works like normal.

This was exactly it, I thought the pump or something was going out. I just put my thumb nails on the lip and was able to pop it off and sure enough just like you said it was all clogged up, the water flow came back like 5x faster before it was taking like 3-5 mins to fill a water bottle lol

You probably saved me over an hour on the telephone with Primo. They have an excellent helpline. Once you press a bunch of buttons but I stumbled across your video and my problem is fixed! If you have a newer model like i have, its the same fix...except. When the cap is removed it may dislodge from the rubber hose leading into the unit.
The nozzle is a connecting piece to the rubber(surgical like) tube that flows the water down into your cup
Its the T shaped hose inside the unit just above the spout. You will need to ensure your spout is still connected.
Thank you for this it works great now. I also drained the water tank which had some back up in it. Insert a clean paper towel in the pump hose to keep water from getting in there and drain the water out. Took about two cups before I got to clear water with nothing floating in the water. That piece that he said to remove has a filter in it and needs to be flushed clean really good. Thank you again, that slow running water was causing the cooler to make a loud noise also.
