I have the same issue on my 2016 Charger RT. I replaced both front struts, lower tensions struts and sway bar end links and bushings. Five minutes after driving the car out of the shop, the damn noise came back again but it only happens when hitting bumps, no noise is heard when I’m turning on a flat road. I believe my next culprit could be the lower control arms.

Any luck resolving it? I have a 2018 Charger, and it recently started clunking. It is most noticeable below 25 MPH when going over slight undulations. Replacing the sway bar end links and bushings didn’t get rid of the clunking for me.

@@krind24 Yes I finally got it resolved. What you described is exactly how mine started and it got worse over time. I had everything replaced, first it was the sway bar bushings, nothing. Then I replaced the tension struts, the end links, the lower control arms and shocks but I was still hearing some noise in the right front. When my mechanic and his friend took a DEEPER look and test drove it, it turned out that my right front shock though new, was defective and was causing the noise. After I got it replaced, the car is quiet and feels like new again, it drives very smooth and handles better. If the noise you hears sounds more like metal to metal then it could be you lower control arms or tension struts, if the noise sounds a little muffled then I would double check your shocks. I hope this helps and good luck man!

did you tighten the tension strut bolt with the tires under load - if not your install caused the problem - you're preloading the bushings by tightening in a position that is not the one where it typically rests. Basically when the car was dropped to the ground you were twisting the bushing likely beyond what it is designed to tolerate.

How much do you think this would cost to get done at a local mechanic?

The thing I dislike about getting older is not my physical body but my eyesight is getting so bad even with glasses it’s so hard to focus and frustrating sometimes
