I love the Teddy footage at the end! He's so cute and rambunctious. We lost our dachshund (Linus) at 12.5 years back, in 2014; we got two more to "replace" him in early 2015. I LOVE them so much, but even now, I sometimes find myself tearing up when I think too much about our last moments with Linus. The missing him never really goes away, but the accompanying pain does lessen. Hang in there.

Thank you so much. I do miss him every day. It’s taking awhile to bond with Teddy. He’s a very different dog. I know it takes time and it will come. 💙 He’s doing much better at the dog park these days. He’s getting a big haircut tomorrow!

Thanks Jonna, for a wonderful podcast to decompress with, it sure has been that kind of a week!
I’ve bought a lot of crystal bracelets and jade charms which has certain meanings back in the days! This year is the year of the rabbit. If you like, you might want to add a bead or jade with a rabbit on it to signify the birth animal of your new grand daughter! Just a mere suggestion.
You are lucky that Teddy don’t want to drink the water from the hose. Every time I water the garden plants from the hose in my son’s house, his corgi wants some water. I could never use the hose without him having some!
Thanks for sharing and being my knitting company! Happy knitting, crocheting, sewing, and gardening! ❤❤

    • @KnitTogetherwithKimJonna

Thank you for your sweet comment. The year of the rabbit bead is a great idea. I looked into birthstones but they’re costly, so this is a great idea.
Yeah, Teddy just barks at the hose. 🤣

    • @aknitlife
      @aknitlife Рік тому

@@KnitTogetherwithKimJonna Birth stones are very expensive, you can look for little jade animals in Asian street vendors in street festivals, I would not recommend you buy it in a jewelry store because they will charge a lot. I bought a lot of these for my kids when they were young.
I will let you know if I see any. I live in one of the five boroughs of NYC. Besides the rabbit, what is the other grand child’s zodiac animal (as you are putting the two grandchildren’s jade in one bracelet)?

Thanks for a lovely relaxing minisode (for me, pretty busy for you, Jonna). I love the thoughtfully designed mama bracelets that you made. I am sure your daughters will love and cherish them. I will NOT be making those ties- they sound like way too much work and my hands ache just thinking about it. 😅 A basic slipover will have to do for me, although I am sure you will really enjoy yours once it is done. Your raised bed gardens look wonderful. I think they have been a genius invention to help rickety aging bodies like mine continue to be able to enjoy gardening, when the ability to get up and down off the ground diminishes. I do not take my little dog to dog parks. Too many dogs with no reliable recall and dog handlers not paying attention. It only takes one or two bad experiences and you can end up with a fearful dog. Prim is very small and has survived several attacks from dogs who “wouldn’t hurt a flea”, but obviously just did- small dogs can look like prey and prey drive is strong in many dogs. Fortunately Prim is ever the optimist and has been ok. Prim does several dog sports- agility, rally obedience, tricks, so lots of training over the years. I have yet to find a trainer who recommends dog parks. There you go, my totally unsolicited opinion. Lol! Teddy is adorable!

I swear that my BP drops several points when I hear your intro music. Your raised beds are beautiful! I need to build some more, but I am still recovering from abdominal surgery so I will not be having much of a veggie garden this year - just some tomatoes, leftover chard from the winter, and my herbs. Summer gardening is becoming increasingly difficult here anyway because of our climbing summer temps and worsening drought. Did you finish your ties? Watching while working on my Kuutar in KFO Pure silk!

How are you liking the pure silk? I (jonna) bought some to make a cumulus tee.
I did finish my ties! Some drama with the second one. I wanted to throw it across the room, but it’s all good now!

@@KnitTogetherwithKimJonna 😆I have a hard time imagining you getting upset. I like the silk a lot. Good stitch definition, and it makes a nicely uniform fabric. I am a bit nervous about it stretching after washing, so I think I'll just soak it, like with wool. We'll see. I'll tag you so you can see the photo I posted today.

It’s stunning! Now I want one, too.
Honestly, I wanted to cry, but I sucked it up and CO those 400+ stitches a second time! I twisted the CO, messed up the 2x2 rib and had some loose CO stitches. 🤣

@@KnitTogetherwithKimJonna I'm sure the finished product will be well worth it, and you will look lovely in it, but I would have not had the patience and would have just made button tabs. Of course, that would have killed the entire aesthetic!😆

Thank you. My son-in-law made them for me. Very easy and sturdy! My first ones fell apart. He found instructions online. Sorry I’m not more help!
