Right off the bat I have to thank you for the suggestion to search for “tops” rather than sweaters. I had just been frustrated by trying to find summer sweaters in “ sweaters”.
Another great podcast! I watched on my laptop, with my knitting in my lap and my phone logged into Ravelry on my right. I loved seeing the yarns, and have several new patterns and yarns in my favorites!!
I seriously can't get into other knitting podcasts just because of how high you guys have set the bar for me. This podcast is just too good. Thank you for another great episode!
Just purchased no.11 pattern …. Home Camisole ….By Caidree Will be a perfect vacation knit project ! Thank you so much for all the beautiful choices 🌷🌷🌷🌞🌷🌷🌷
Thank you for this lovely episode with all the beautiful designs in which you could feel a little bit exposed 🙈🙃 (hahaha ... I hope I will remember this term forever now) ... I added quite some at my favorites on Ravelry 💕✔
:) The air conditioning sounds like the waves of the ocean! How appropriate when it comes on when you are showing a summer tee. Really put me in the summer mood.
I love Irene Lin’s designs also. The last time I visited Pick Up Every Stitch I got yarn to knit her Vine Cardigan. Another great episode… have fun Saturday…
I found your knitting video a couple months ago, and loved it. Since then, I've viewed quite a few of your non-knitting videos which I find very interesting, and will continue to do so until I'm all caught up. Especially now that I know you're a fan of Stromae. HA! I don't have friends who knit, so I am here for community. I like your honesty and thoughtfulness. I'm currently knitting Love Owls by Susan B. Anderson, I finished the body and filling it while watching. I'm also working on a Sophie scarf by Petite Knits. I pick up one or the other depending on my mood. All very simple things, but what I'm enjoying at the moment. Thank you, for sharing.
Hi Kim, I am a little behind in the episodes so today I am spending my day with you. I so enjoyed my time with you and your family. What a wonderful idea to spend time with your husband enjoying the museum. One section at a time is a great way to see it all. I think that is what I would like to do with my sweet hubby. Last year we took a vacation to the Ark and zoo museum with our two granddaughters. But what you did with the grand kids giving them outdoor time to have fun and run freely is a better. The girls enjoyed the zoo and Ark but there were so many people there. And your grandchildren ran a marathon! They deserved ice cream. And was that your sweet Mom at the end of the video? She looks like she enjoyed her time with all the babies too. StitchedbyMimi
Hi Sandy, Sorry for my delayed reply... but Yes! We had so much fun and one section at a time is definitely the way to go. As for outings with my grandchildren, I love to take them to museums and the zoo, but they are often very crowded and VERY EXPENSIVE, so the local farm is our favorite destination. And yes! That was my mom at the end. She couldn't go on the long hike with us, but she met us after the hike and came with us to get ice cream. I'm so blessed to be surrounded by so much family! ❤️ Kim
My favorite top for the unbearable summers down here in the Southern U.S. is one you mentioned, the My Little Secret Crop by Jessie Maed! I made it out of Lion Brand Truboo, which is 100% bamboo rayon, and it's at an extremely loose gauge because I didn't know that rayon would grow so much with washing. It's the only thing I can bear to wear outside on some of the hottest days.
I like the idea of knitting summer tops but summer where I live can be very humid too. Your Ranunculus is absolutely gorgeous on you, Jonna. So feminine.
I also love lists. I'm always on the hunt for new patterns or yarns or techniques to use. I thought I would do less knitting in the summer, but I do have a lot of cotton and cotton blends I want to make summer tops from. Thanks!
Oooo your proper purple is back kim love it and you’ve done something different with yours too Jonna both looking mighty fine, summer is coming woo hoo love your knits too
Fun as always. I just love you two and the energy you have. The summer yarns were fun, I have no LYS so this was so wonderful, thanks for all the yarn composition info and patterns. Karen 🥰 oh btw Casuarina pronounced perfectly 💪🏻 it’s the area I live in, thanks for the kind words 😊
LisaR: Yes! I was in Nice many years ago ( 21yr old) . We went to the beach and I was surprised by the big pebbles it was made of , that took a back seat when I realized clothing was optional 😅Not me , I'm not that enlightened. Monte Carlo was impressive. The casino was inside a castle on a bluff . Very elegant quiet no machines .It was like being dropped into a Bond movie ! Glad you enjoyed - Happy Birthday!!
Love watching your podcast! So many great summer designs. I have made a few of them, but have several more in my queue. My next one will be in Sandnes Garn Line, which is pronounced Lee-né. I guess it is a play on the Norwegian word for linen, lin. Line is a girls´name here. And Tynn/tynd means "thin".
The summer yarns look so yummy! As a person and family very sensitive wool, I would love to find some cotton, Tencil, silk bamboo yarns to become my go to yarns for all seasons.
Such an inspirational list of possible knits! Thank you and Hi 🙋🏼♀️ from Vienna, Austria! I love the way you pronounce the danish yarn names in english You are actually quite accurate! The pronounciation of «hør» is approximately like when Jonna says «her» in english, and Line, you pronounce «lene». And by the way in Isager, you do not pronounce the g but say «isaer» (approximately) but that is a hard one to get right, right even for fellow scandinavians😅 My mothertongue is swedish, I live in Vienna where (austrian)german is the main language and I speak swedish, german and english at work. Multilingualism is one of my passions besides knitting😉 💁🏼♀️And I love yr channel! It is so inspirational and positive and a perfect knitting companion for me! See you next time!
So many great ideas for summer and spring. That was funny about Nice, FR. I remember that when I visited. I feel the exact way with multi-tasking or people talking to me when I cook. You both are great and so giving of your time, don't worry about the air conditioner. Hugs! Kimberly
I do appreciate your captions. I pause to add pattern names and designers to my never ending list of things to knit. I loved seeing all the summer yarns and colours especially on this dreary rainy cool day🇨🇦
It’s been a pleasure as always hanging out with the two of you - I used to knit my summer tops with cotton yarn way back in Germany- glad there are so many more options now - 🤔 choices choices 😊happy knitting 🧶 ( oh and Kim I hate talking on the phone too lol as a teenager I would walk 20 min to see if my friend was home to ask her a question ☺️- now I have a job where I have to be on the phone all day - but private- I only text 👍)( and Jonna I wish there was a group for sewers too - I’m a beginner- or restarter - and would enjoy that - hope you will share some projects again - you made some nice dresses 😃)
Great ideas Kim and Jonna!I bought the first Caidree pattern you showed, it’s cute and I could still pull off wearing it at 70, unlike some of those tiny camisoles, so hope to knit it this year. While I love the plant-based knits, I always find I make more glaring mistakes with them than good old wool. Thank you Jonna for recommending Mel Makes' video about joining plant-based yarns. I will certainly check that out.
I am making for my daughter a cotton blouse. Just a few modifications from a sweater from Anna Johanna. Can’t wait for all the heat!!!! Enjoy Maryland!!
No AC here in NW Montana today. It snowed, it was spring for one day for a tease then spring said"just kidding". I'm still working on summer sweaters, it'll be here soon! Love your podcasts!
I've recently come across your podcast and I'm officially hooked (or should that be needled?!) I'm currently binge watching all the back episodes to get myself up to speed. Thank you for becoming my new best knitting buddies!!
I love all the ideas for summer and love watching your podcasts. ❤ In Australia we are going into winter so maybe I will start some now and have them ready for next summer. 😄
Thank you! another great show. I'm always inspired and share similar tastes. I've made two Little Secret Crops with Berroco Modern Cotton. One not mentioned that I made and I love is Rift by Jacqueline Cieslak
Kim, have a look at the 'Unfinished Business' pattern by Melissa Schaschwary. I've knit a few in fingering and they are soft and comfy and perfect for wearing over a camisole xx
Yes, Ellen! That's exactly what it looked like, except it had a lot of dropped stitches that ran all the way down. I wonder if I can modify it to add them. Hmmmm...
This was wonderful...all the options for creating lighter knitted items and the various yarn options. Very helpful for me the beginner. I too use a lot of stitch markers...it helps me keep count of rows and mark the 12 stitches pattern all around- from the Love Note sweater I am currently knitting.
Great episode, so much inspiration ....I just added the Slanting Sleep Over, the Rota and the Suri Shirt to my wish list. Loved that you included yarn recommendations. I think LYS date is going to be so much fun ! I can't wait :) Thanks for the great company.
Such a great episode! I've already messaged Pick Up Every Stitch for yarn 🤣. Did you see that there is a v-neck version of Caidree's Suri Shirt? I believe the test knit starts next week-definitely soon. Thanks so much for sharing.
Great job, as always! I've added the Rota and the Home Camisole to my queue. I especially liked seeing the different yarn options, many of which I have not seen before. I had to laugh at the name of the Moondrake Pika Pika yarn. Apparently, it means "sparkling" in Japanese, but in Spanish it means "itchy itchy"!
Awesome patters; had some in my library and hope to cast them on soon. Currently working on the Pressed Flower Pullover: what a wonderful pattern to knit!

Silk moths? They can take the full cocoon and kill the worm inside, so it never comes through the silk to get out. That gives them a longer length of silk. Or they can let the moth mature and come out naturally, which breaks the threads. At least, that's what I remember from a book my kids read 20 years ago. :) "Project Mulberry" Linda Sue Park

Beaches on the Washington coast are big rocks. Very Smooth. Like knitting 2 strands of fingering weight yarn.
😁

Kim, western Michigan has gorgeous sand. Look into Traverse City, for a US holiday. I love my state. Lol the sand on the west coast is so beautiful. 😊
Great ideas for the summer. The colours of the yarn were amazing. 🇬🇧
great pattern suggestions 🖤
Thanks for sharing you guys are so funny and have a great relationship together. Enjoyed your selections and the yarns
Kim, I read the captions!! I live in Texas and loved this episode.

Hi Eva!
I wasn't planning on knitting up any summer sweaters, but now I have a list. lol Thanks a lot. Kim
You’re welcome!! 💕
Lots of cute tops in this line up. Thanks for showing them to us.

Loved this video! Thanks for doing the research!
I am making for my daughter a cotton blouse. Just a few modifications from a sweater from Anna Johanna. Can’t wait for all the heat!!!! Enjoy Maryland!!
Love your « chimie »🎉
You ladies are so impressive. Your summer plans look fantastic. I can’t wait to see them come to fruition. Another excellent episode.
The Fold Line is similar to Ravelry but for sewing.
Yep, I do use it occasionally. I like the monthly podcasts, too.
You are new to me 😊 great podcast …..
Hello ladies both looking good love your hairdo's xx
No AC here in NW Montana today. It snowed, it was spring for one day for a tease then spring said"just kidding". I'm still working on summer sweaters, it'll be here soon! Love your podcasts!
Oh, goodness! Hoping you get some spring weather soon and thank you!

Nice podcast! I always enjoy it. It sounds like ocean waves, though. Thanks for sharing.
The AC was particularly obnoxious. So sorry!
I love all the ideas for summer and love watching your podcasts. ❤ In Australia we are going into winter so maybe I will start some now and have them ready for next summer. 😄
Some lovely inspiration thank you
Thank you! another great show. I'm always inspired and share similar tastes. I've made two Little Secret Crops with Berroco Modern Cotton. One not mentioned that I made and I love is Rift by Jacqueline Cieslak
Rift is a great top, too. So many!! We didn’t have time to mention the Joni from Natasja Hornby.
I am currently making the Sunkissed top by Sari Nordland. I live in Las Vegas so by June we are usually at 100 degrees.
But, it’s a dry heat, right?! 🤣
So many beautiful summer knits, but I am just not finished with my warmer knits 😊 Thank you for all the ideas!
Neither are we, lol!
Hmmmm...
Kim - have you seen Jamie Watts new design the dappled lace raglan? It looks like the shirt you were describing that you loved!!
Thanks! I'll have to check it out!
Looking forward to meeting you at MD Sheep and Wool.
💕
This was wonderful...all the options for creating lighter knitted items and the various yarn options. Very helpful for me the beginner. I too use a lot of stitch markers...it helps me keep count of rows and mark the 12 stitches pattern all around- from the Love Note sweater I am currently knitting.
That's a great sweater. When Jonna knit that, she got lost in the repeats and had to rip back! She should have used stitch markers LOL
Would you do a segment on summer tops with short sleeves? I don’t have many friends who can wear tanks
I read captions! Great inspiration but UK way too cold to think of summer 😅 Tomorrow to Wonderwool in Wales!!!
Enjoy! (Jonna is not a fan of summer!)
Great episode, so much inspiration ....I just added the Slanting Sleep Over, the Rota and the Suri Shirt to my wish list. Loved that you included yarn recommendations. I think LYS date is going to be so much fun ! I can't wait :) Thanks for the great company.
Love all the yarn! I want to buy it all😂
Same!
Such a great episode! I've already messaged Pick Up Every Stitch for yarn 🤣. Did you see that there is a v-neck version of Caidree's Suri Shirt? I believe the test knit starts next week-definitely soon. Thanks so much for sharing.
We just looked it up! Super cute!
That is TOO funny!! 🤣
Awesome patters; had some in my library and hope to cast them on soon. Currently working on the Pressed Flower Pullover: what a wonderful pattern to knit!
Another great pattern. Beth, from the shop, is making that one too.
Great podcast, thanks for the summer inspiration 😊
Great episode, very inspiring for summer knits!! Hope to meet you at Maryland Sheep and Wool!!
We'll post when we find out who doesn't mind us hanging out in their booth for a little bit!
Great inspiration! Kim you are famous! I would totally fan girl if I saw you two😂 seriously 😁❤
😂
0lease, ALL the brioche tips! 😊
Really enjoy your shows! What is the little blue/purple cardigan to the left of Kim's shoulder? Love the style and yarn. Thank you!
Yes, it's the Classic Cardi by Clinton Hill Cashmere. The pattern is free with a CHC yarn purchase.
Great review and great podcast. Too hot here in Southern CA to wear anything wool unless it’s winter. But cute ideas for knitters who are interested. I wish the store you podcast from on a real on line store, but I understand how labor intensive that is.
We would like that too! We guess it's too hard to manage the inventory?
Your pronunciation of the word HØR is perfect!! 😀👍, and it is the danish word for linen (and flax). Bonus info: the Danish letter Ø corresponds to the German letter ö (if it makes it easier for you to "translate" the Danish letters, you are welcome to ask) 😉
Thanks for a nice episode (even if there was a little noise from the A/C)
Thank you so much for letting me know! (I practiced, lol)
Beautiful spring/summer ideas and yarn examples. That took a lot of research and I’m sure we all appreciate your time. Being Canadian, a lot of the yarns are not available or economically feasible but knowing the content of each one described is so helpful. 😊 I have a question: can I combine a yarn to my 100% cotton yarn to make it a bit more “pliable” if you know what I mean. I purchased a few cones of Knit Picks dishie and thinking it might stretch or bag out if I make a top. Any help will be appreciated.
The only thing we can think of to help with stretch is a strand of mohair, but that's not very summer friendly. Also, knitting at a dense gauge. Will give it some thought though.

Thank you so much for the suggestion! I'll definitely check it out. ❤️ Kim
I live near Mother Knitter who is the US distributor of Sandes Garne. I'll be sure to ask how to pronounce Line!
Yes! Please. 😂
Do either of you design your own knit patterns?
Not yet! Jonna would love to. This said, there are so many wonderful designers out there already! Kim designed a beanie for her SIL but prefers to let others do the designing.
@@KnitTogetherwithKimJonna I totally understand! 👍
There’s a really annoying sound going on, like a train coming into the station….but the train doesn’t quit! I keep turning the podcast off and back on thinking it’s my iPad malfunctioning. Can you replay a bit of your taping and see what the problem is? THANKYOU
Sorry. It’s the AC. We apologize for it later in the video.
I'm sure someone has asked this but I didn't see it in the podcast...the ranuculus-is it just mohair? Double or single?
This one is just one strand of mohair.

Right! These cocoons are collected after the silkworm departs, so cruelty-free. Interesting!
Great content as usual. Love watching you ladies! Too bad the audio of your voices is somewhat distorted, and there’s a rushing noise in the background. It is distracting, I’m afraid. Thanks for all your hard work and passion for knitting!
So sorry. It’s the AC.
Hello from Poland 🇵🇱... I love you 🧶🤗🧶
💕
🥰🧶
I knew someone named Lisa but spelled it Lise. I asked her how to pronounce it and she explained that her mom was Norwegian and it was pronounced Lisa. Based on this, I would pronounce Sandnes Garn Line = Lina (Leena)
That sounds right!! Thank you.
Hi! the AC make too much noise.😣
We agree!
Yes... It was bothersome for me to hear it so loud...

yikes!!
So disappointed you did so many sleeveless tops
I think we split it 50-50! Did you see the Moon Set Tee? It’s lovely.
