- Miranda Lambert took the stage at Billy Bob's, in Fort Worth, Texas, on April 22nd. Miranda Lambert performed her hit song "The House That Built Me" to a sold out crowd at the famous honky tonk. Miranda Lambert was overwhelmed with emotion during the beautiful performance.

I lived in a white little house in Greenville, TX until I was 4. My mother died when I was 11, and that house holds memories of her, my dad, and a little black dog. Those were the good ‘ol days. I miss my Mom dearly. I did go back to that house once and just parked and stared at it-wishing I could go inside. This song takes me there. THANK YOU, MIRANDA!❤️

This song always makes me cry. It is my story of growing up. My dad built our house and I only lived there until I was grown. My parents died and we sold the house. Only in my case, I will never go back to that house or even drive by it. I can’t. It will always be home no matter where I live. It is full of wonderful memories for extended family too. I left half my heart there.
Always loved Miranda Lambert and her beautiful voice! She is one gifted singer!
She seems to always cry when singing this song. I don't blame her. The lyrics hit a nerve for most of us. I went back to the house I lived in in the 50's. Blows your mind and revives what made you indeed. The rooms are 3 times smaller because you're only a kid.
I found a custom address sign a gift from my grandmom just days before she suddenly passed. So, when I sold my home I took it with me. 20 years later after selling my next home and was moving into a new one, I found it (the sign) and I took it to the home and although I was anxious; I took a chance and knocked on the door. This nice older gentleman opened the custom from door I had picked out and was so nice. I explained the sign should be home. He invited me in. To my dismay, in 20 years the only thing that had changed was their decor. Everything single room had the same flooring and although re-freshed even the paint colors were the same. I could not help but cry but he went on to tell me about his family loving that home and since it had been in my family for 3 generation. I was so happy another family got to grow up there! Man I wish I could go back home!!!!

The title of the song sure brings back memories of my late Dad during my early life giving his all and all getting us a house built of our own to live in and still going to work even when he didn't feel well. Yeah, that's the house that built me along with my Dad's teachings about life and to be responsible.

Deb Fisher she never wrote that song it was Blake’s song and he was playing some of his songs that he had tucked away and she heard it and started to cry to him and said that that song reminds her of her life and asked him if he would please let her cut the record and him being a great boyfriend at the time decided to let her that’s how she got that song through Blake Shelton.💯💯

I still feel that song was wrote just for me growing up in your home that was above a funeral home Going back in there was together my last memories the last memories of my mom my mom died 2012 it was a home. Her song Home came out during the time a tragedy had happened in my home town. The Upper Big Branch mining explosion occurred around the time this song came out. It’s such a touching, beautiful song. Imagine hearing that song while your little town is overrun with news crews from all around the world as your loved ones and neighbors experience grief and loss. I’m a huge fan of Lambert, that’s what great artists do they are able to really touch your heart.

About a month ago I drove my 7 yr old daughter and showed her the house I grew up in. I wanted so bad to knock on that door and walk thru there one more time. I parked across the road and cried. It was the last house I ever seen my granny alive in, she passed in 2000.

The first time I heard this song I had gone home to Tennessee from Kansas after a long term relationship and a very hard break up. I was so hurt and went home to my Momma. I will never forget her playing this song for me as I sat on the floor and cried so hard and all she did was rub my hair with her gentle loving hand. My Momma has since passed but that moment in time I will cherish forever. This song and my Momma gave me strength to pick myself up and start healing. To go back to my roots and touch who I was and who I had become changed everything. The emotion Miranda obviously felt on stage in her home town singing her song to this crowd overwhelmed me and takes me back to that moment with my Mom and how healing that was.
Anyone who could dislike this song or this emotional performance probably hasn't ever been homesick and alone. I love the tears she sheds in front of the audience not only does it show how emotional she feels being home but also the road taken to get there. Time has brought her full circle how could you not be overfilled with emotions.
