I always lost it at "favorite dog". I haven't been able to play and sing this one through, in all the years it has been out, because it made me sad to think about life after Miss Bella Blue. This is the first time I've even been able to listen to it since her passing, on 1/29/19.
The part about her favorite dog is buried in the yard would cause me to break down emotionally too! Dogs are loyal companions they give their owners unconditional love. It's the reason why the death of a pet is so heartwrenching.

My childhood home is currently up for sale so this song is legit everything to me and I feel her emotions so much. I believe everyone should have that one place that reminds you who you are and who you want to be... That and my mom actually did design our house and my cat that was honestly family to me is buried in my backyard and it kills me knowing that pretty soon that will be someone else's home and they'll make memories just like I did but ugh... That's my house, it's a part of me, I discovered who I was there, and it's the place that I considered my safe place when I was upset or lost... And someday when my parents are gone it'll be ten times worse because I'll wish I could be there and feel closer to those memories there with them. Moving on and growing up and loss and change blows
