Romita Jr is awesome. Seems like a really cool dude.
Frank Miller is one of biggest inspiration in drawing. I love his style so much
1) draw two circles
2) draw the rest of the f#$&ing Kryptonian
why were like 3 people clapping ? It's Frank Miller come on ?!
@@dabblerdeluxe775 lol
Exactly
Atm-Fall-Off-Boy Comic fans don't deserve Frank Miller. They throw away the importance of a great artist like him. They don't even know what exactly Miller revolutionized in the media. Miller needed a career in painting than doing things for this ungrateful comic book audience.
@@pedrot.9569 Finally someone said it.The amount of nerd rage against Frank always disgusted me.
Disagree about his work all you want, but at least be respectful about it.
I believe he should be doing more experimental work like Xerxes,or work in Europe under Humanoids. The modern American super hero audience is dumb as hell, they just can't comprehend that someone is using a more abstract drawing style by choice.
But I have to admit,I love the fact that he keeps making those nerds angry by coming back too superheroes.
Evangelos005 Dude ... I went to see a lecture here in Brazil about fine arts and the announcer used Dark Knight Strikes Again and compared Frank Miller's drawings to Michelangelo's sketches (take a look at the muscular women Michelangelo drew - Miller is fascinated by women (not by chance, Elektra was inspired by the Lysa Lion). Miller studied Argentine noir comics like Breccia and Munoz, studied Europeans, studied manga. Then he went further and studied the modernist painters. Miller is one of the greatest cartoonists of all time and also a postmodernist artist making comics. Almost an underground cartoonist doing mainstream comics. And yes, I love his work to this day - people don't understand (anymore) Miller's sense of humor: this hysterical thing that the best American writers have. Anyway, like Miller, talented artists, instead of doing comics for this audience, could go to TV, movies, fine arts or literature, because for this current comic audience it's not worth it.
My Favorite Supes look
Gary Frank - Doomsday Clock #11
Alex Ross - Kingdom Come
Jim Lee - New 52
Night Shades13 new 52 Superman is ugly
@@dabblerdeluxe775 yep. Now we got the original Superman back. Well the one we all know. Kinda badass actually because he's just like okay time to be superman
@@dabblerdeluxe775 read action comics. Vol 1 rebirth. Superman comes back and Bam fights doomsday for a rematch. It's so badass
@@dabblerdeluxe775 also read dceased. It's pretty emotional. Made me fall in love with Superman's kid as a character. Superman's kid has the potential to be a better man than superman
@@dabblerdeluxe775 I won't spoil it. Let's just say it's so badass
Let's talk about Frank Millers artwork a little bit
artwork in DKR: kind of brillant
artwork in DKSA: Someone found Microsoft Paint
@@dabblerdeluxe775 you suck
@@dabblerdeluxe775 Cosmo Joe His old work was good, but then came Dark Knight Strikes again, Holy Terror and Allstar Batman.
@@Tyler_Takahashi Hes right tho
BUT…. Fran Miller Daredevil. Amazing.
I Love DC
DC loves you too
Well all do! Even if deep down some mcu fans don't wanna admit it! Everyone loves a good Batman or Superman story
JRJR is hilarious, he's very self-deprecating for a guy with the talent and resume that he has
I like JRJr's art. Blocky and heavily stylized. Kinda reminds me of Jack Kirby. Though if you like somewhat a more polished JRJr work, check out Jim Cheung.
Romita Jr is a Year Older than Miller.........let that sink in
What a weak crowd, Its Frank freaking Miller, clap, he's a legend
Dylan Oconner dude name a good frank miller comic from the past ten years
@@dabblerdeluxe775 have you ever read any of his other works? One of the best daredevil runs ever, batman year one, ronin, 300, sin city...
@@dabblerdeluxe775 I guess that's just your personal taste then but it's undeniable how much of an impact Miller's work has had on the comic industry and just for the record, DKR is probably one of the most beloved comics of all time
Nah, Frank Miller writes like a disturbed angry 12 year old. Even then, he's gone from writing like a talented disturbed 12 year old to a talentless one.
Yo. These guys are the same exact age, and they look, and move like they're 25 years apart 😳
No disrespect intended at all! Legends no doubt.
Just an observation I made just now.
Respect so much to Romita Jr. But i don't like his style in special in Year one
I ultimately hated a lot of the story in Superman: Year One, but I will say that visually it was some of the best work JRJR has done in years.
That's so awesome
Romita is actually a bit older than Miller,Jesus!!
Only a year but I see your point.
Heard Frank struggled with a drinking problem in the 2000s and had cancer in the 2010s.
I just finnished reading this today
You poor poor soul
I actually loved it despite what people say. The people complaining haven't even read past the first issue. It gets better
@@Tyler_Takahashi didn't like the second one and the 3rd just felt incomplete
@@Vasco1001 really? I really loved the Atlantis parts. I caught myself making sound effects like a kid reading it
@@Tyler_Takahashi I dont know why to be honest, altough the art was amazing on the 2nd, the double spreads were beautiful
Frank Miller 👏👏👏👏
Not many may be fans, but I am👍
Same. I'm not much of a superman fan (I'm workin on it), but sometimes I just like to have those heroes look a little bad to make Batman look good. That's pretty much what Superman does in Frank Miller stuff.
Loki Bloodsaw agreed
I like how Miller makes the heroes he makes stories about, not superior and high and mighty, but a little more down to earth with problems 👍
@@koheletcalaforexclan6508 yeah
Is "How not to write Superman" with Bendis next?
"How not to write Superman" kinda fits with both Miller and Bendis equally to be honest
Such a great comic ♥️💛💙
Frank Miller wearing a superman shirt, WHAT?!
i know man
I know, right -- given how he always writes Superman about as wrong as a person can, with seeming vitriol in every sense, I always just figured he hated the character.
I wish i could draw like that
Raven Assassin But it was the most powerful thing in super hero comics - made a lot of kids starting draw.
Same
How are you gonna make a video about drawing and NOT get Jim Lee??
Neither one of these pictures looks very much like Superman
Two people you probably don’t want to learn how to draw superman from 😂
that was brilliant.....lol
Dc fan one like
John Romita Jr. is a good artist, y’all are just mean :(
Yeah it is but it just doesn't fit certain characters
Was
If Frank can still draw buff dudes why does he draw Batman scrawny all the time
#ReleaseTheAyerCut
John is cool but I dislike his art
I really love it. Very clean and colored beautifully. Kinda blocky. Idk I like it
@@Tyler_Takahashi I was mainly referring to his pencils, colors are not done by him. But to each their own.
@@zekesalazar7643 I'm fully aware the colors aren't his. Regardless I like the clean art style he has
@@Tyler_Takahashi I wouldn't consider his work "clean" lol. I will say before his hand injury his work was much better for sure.
@@zekesalazar7643 I would say it's clean. You can see what you're looking at and it's not over convoluted or anything like a lot of artists do.
Was expecting to see a shitty superman drawing and they sure didn't disappoint.
Did they seriously picked two of the worst artists out there to teach us how to draw?
*Superman artists
If you're gonna get someone to show how to draw Superman, maybe don't get one of the worst Superman artists ever to pick up a pencil to do it?
Cheers.
So the lamest writer that has ever touched Superman must supervise the worst artist that has ever drawn Superman.
Bugie
I wouldn’t learn how to draw from here... maybe look at basicas because they have a history of terrible art
They're just very different styles. That's what I like about it. Everyone's art always looks the same
his style is sadly poor and bad looking :(
Aw now, romita isn't that bad
Romita Jr was great on Daredevil. He was FANTASTIC on Punisher Warzone.
And extremely horrible in Superman.
