@@66Samus I didn’t expect a reply. I’m not a drummer, but I am a bassist, so part of the rhythm section. Oh yuuurrrrrrrrrr! Keep on keeping on, dude. You rock!
My son, in the womb at this time, will be a drummer and/or hockey and football player, and I would love to get a play pad like that. (Note: I will not force my kid into anything he doesn’t want to). I actually already have a Yamaha DD5 set at my parents that would probably be a better place to start.
That panda snare drum actually sounded pretty solid once you tightened it up and threw 2 moon gel pads on it. I've heard live big name drummers who snare has sounded worse. Totally fine, especially at that cost!
I mean sure, but I'll get nothing from that marketplace. I really like keeping my data to myself and online shops that are less shady or not owned by a company that has commited data theft with another marketplace before.
I like that these reviews are appropriate for the products. Expensive equipment doesn't make a musician. Affordable entry level equipment can certainly plant seeds and provide fertile ground for experimentation.
I love this because this just shows that playing is the real skill not necessarily the gear when it comes to learning so this was very enlightening. Thanks Samus!
Samus, no one ever mentions the wonderful editing that you do in your videos! I know this can take quite a while to do and it is much appreciated by me… and of course the bits of comedy that you throw in! 😂 I hope little Yoda is doing better. 🤞🏼💙
if I was still gigging I would have loved that snare for bar shows. I dont wanna bring gear I really care about to those kinda shows so if it got stolen, damaged, fluids spilled on it or anything else i would have been fine. It honestly sounded great with evans heads on it.
That snare sounded great with the stock heads. The lower tuning didn’t sound so great, but neither does most high-end snare drums, without moderate to heavy dampening (e.g. a towel/BFSD/neoprene mute etc)
I have a few sets of nylon sticks and I LOVE THEM! They last 100 times longer than wooden sticks. And when you are on a budget, it really saves you from buying sticks all the time. They are actually quieter than wooden sticks. Try them and you find they have great rebound.
Besides watching your drumming skills and technique, I always get the biggest kick out of watching how much fun you have doing these videos!! I am not even a drummer, but seeing how much fun you have makes me think I should get some cheap beginner drums just to give it a try!!
I haven't been a drummer in the last 10 years (the last few bands I've been a part of needed a bassist, so that's what I play), but you singlehandedly have brought me back to my first love of drumming. Thank you so much for what you do, Samus. The joy in your face when you're playing, as well as your sense of humor, makes me remember how fun it is to play drums. SEX
I bought a similar drum pad on ebay to see if I liked drumming and they are actually usable even if there is no variation in sensitivity. Mine had a rechargeable battery and even does MIDI. You can have fun with it. I've not shopped on Temu as yet.
I've been playing guitar for 16 years, and I never knew you had to tune your drumkit. I want to get a starter drumkit but that makes me a little apprehensive. By the way its channels such as yours thats inspired me to even want to try it. Keep up tge awesome work.
The first time tuning is a little bit nerve wracking. The second time, a little less so. Then everything falls into place. There are a couple great videos on YT with some tricks. The bigger ones are actually easier, because you can just put pressure in the middle of the head, creating wrinkles. Then tighten until the wrinkles are gone and voila you have a tuned drum. From there it's just fine-tuning and that will happen as you play anyway. They don't need to be perfectly tuned to sound great
Initially, I wanted to throw a stone at you for this integration and expected all products to be junk. - The $40 electronic pad kit is an amazing value for money, both for kids and producers alike. - The Panda snare sounds absolutely gorgeous. Not just for its price, but for any price. Immediately reminded me of Joey Jordison's Pearl signature snare drum, and that's a very good snare drum. This Panda snare is arguably more versatile. - I liked the blocks as well, although I mostly use mine for layering with snares. More videos with this kind of unrecognized gems would be cool.

Just came across you randomly on UA-cam, as a producer I can honestly say one of the best drummers I’ve heard on here in a very long time, can see you genuinely enjoy it! FUCKING love it
I’ve bought those moon gel things from Amazon before. I still have like 30 of them or something on my drum shed in my studio. I like that they’re way stickier than moon gels and I like cutting them in half sometimes if I don’t want to compromise the tone and resonance of the head too much.
Me and my twin 10 year old boys love watching youre videos! Pretty sure you were having more fun in this than they have with any of their toys lol. And I'm for sure getting that $40 drum pad!! 🤘🏻
Keep the temu blocks on the set, they actually sounded good! And that little $40 portable pad sounds more responsive than my $300 portable Yamaha pad set. Nice review Samus! Oh yurrrr!
For some cheap ass Chinese made gear they sounded pretty good. I'm still preferring an actual steel cowbell though, there is no sound quite like it.. MORE COWBELL!!!!
once you take away the heads and the snare itself there really isn't too much to the rest of the drum just hardware and the material the shell is made from and dimensions are the only factors involved
I have a home daycare. I love exposing my kids to all kinds of music and instruments. I was thinking about purchasing some of those inexpensive instruments from Temu so they can see and try them. Those plastic toys ones are awful! Your video convinced me that this might actually be a great idea. Thanks!
The snare is for broke people I'd say, and I've been broke half my life... Glad I own a mapex cherry bomb now 😋 Other than that, the rest of the gear sounds & looks fun! Especially the blocks 😀 you can never have enough additional sounds on your kit, and they don't take much space. Actually would prefer those over a bell... Great video 😅

That snare drum even with the stock head had no right to sound as good as it did. Great job by that company.
All of a sudden I fancy one of those electronic roll drums pad . Seems kinda cool and you don't need to have a bunch of space to play it.
