Thing is, as we all know, the appearance has nothing to do with what tumbles out when the singer opens their mouth... many blacks thought this was a black group no idea it was a couple of white duded learned to sing in the clubs in the south... and well, they have great voices. And no one sings like this, live no auto tune anymore. Very few can. These guys had some Mowtown influences obviously. @@thewiseoldherper7047 I'd have liked to hear it as a duet, their voices merged so perfectly. I think they were better in harmony even than the Everlys.
Maybe when the younger generations hear this kind of music, they can understand a little better why so many of us "ole folks" complain so much about "modern day music".
It's about time that this song and singer were appreciated by all. It is a beautiful piece of music that has stood the test of time otherwise it would not have been used in the film Ghost. What I like is the expressions and reactions of the younger ones when they hear this song and Bobby's voice. Also the older songs tell a story unlike a lot of today's songs which appear to be a constant chorus only. Also there are no amps, or auto cues, in fact, no technology apart from one microphone and the filming of him. Most singers these days need so much technology they get lost in it and some of them would not have the career they have because without technology their voices would not be very good. 🇦🇺🇦🇺😷😷👏👏👏👏👏
Oh, let's be clear. My kids complain about modern day music, lol! My oldest is 22 and loves Rush, Queen, Boston and Yes, and my 18 year old son gets irritated because I have a fit if he reminds me of pop songs that were popular during my teens because I don't want the flashbacks. But this is how I raised them and they're pretty discontent with most modern pop music. That said, if you look past pop, you'll find good, new music, often made by smaller acts that self-produce their work. Some of my favorite bands don't have a record label. So my kids are listening to old stuff and I'm listening to Cage the Elephant and the Correspondents. Point is, you can't just assume all music sounds like what record companies tell you is music. Though none of it really holds up to this song. He just sings it the way you'd pump gas, like this is just something that is the easiest, most routine thing ever.
The other thing oldies should know is there are like 30 times more albums produced per year than back in the 60's. In the olden days only record companies made records, now anyone can. Look at how Elvis got his break, he went into sun studios to pay to record a single as a gift to his mama and got discovered. Modren day Elvis would have a tick toc and his own UA-cam channel and be able to record high quality in his bedroom. So yes there is a huge ammount of crap out there but guys like chris Stapleton are my generation. No disrespect ment to the oldies , much love
This was Bill and Bobby appearing on The Andy Williams Show. Andy interviewed them both briefly before he and Bill went backstage for Bobby to do this solo. I presume Bill came back afterwards. I wish we could see the whole show on UA-cam, but I'm certainly glad we got this! Your reactions are priceless too! Thanks for a great video!
@@shibolinemress8913 I saw someone react to this with the interview intact just before this. So it's somewhere here on UA-cam. In it, they explain how they chose Bobby to do it, basically they just thought he was right for it, but the other RB joked he didn't realize what a hit it would be. lol
The most romantic love song ever recorded, dude, and no one else has ever been able to do it justice like the original. The Righteous Bros. were an amazing duo, in a time without electronics and voice modulation. It was all just pure talent.
The song was originally released in 1955. It was written for a prison movie called Unchained. Nominated for but did not win an Oscar. Recorded by numerous artist before Hatfield. But Bobby, he owned it for evermore.
Bobby was given the voice of an angel from on high. Never before in recorded music or possibly ever again, will there be, another that can sing this song so gloriously.
“The Righteous Brothers” are considered by most to be the Greatest Male Vocal Duet Of All Time. I agree. Between Bill Medley’s Lows and Bobby Hatfield’s Highs they can hit every note on an 88 key piano. No other male singers can do that. Legendary. “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin” was the most played song on radio in the 20th Century. "Unchained Melody" - Bobby Hatfield Live 1965. Considered by most as The Greatest Live Male Vocal Performance In History... I agree. Bobby's use of "Runs" is brilliant. He is the master of the technique and started the trend. 7 notes just to say the word "I".... Their name came when they did a show in a smaller venue and a black man told them…. You two Brothers are Righteous. They created the sound and set the table that all Soul Music fed from for decades to come. In 1983, in Newport Beach O.C. Calif. Bill and Bobby at the Jolly Roger Restaurant . I was 13 feet away for... "Unchained Melody"- "You've Lost That Lovin’ Feelin‘" - "Soul And Inspiration".... They were perfect, awesome, amazing, incredible......
You just witnessed one of the best live performances of all time , no joke... Truly awe inspiring, effortless, out of this world vocal skills, and he sings it so cleanly with so much soul, amazing.
No doubt about it. Greatest solo I have ever heard. Bobby was far and away the best ever.I remember watching them on tv back in 1967. You just feel like stunned when he is done!!
That's why he bit his lip at the end of the song! He knew he'd nailed it completely!!! He'd been so worried about not hitting the ending bc his mama was there and he didn't want to disappoint her. He did.not.disappoint.
When I hear Bobby sing this song, so much from his heart…. This was sung while thousands of our young men were tramping through the jungles of Vietnam fighting a in a war.
No argument whatsoever with that thought. Kinda similar to Joe Cocker ownership of Beatles, With A Little Help From My Friends. They know it. Joe knows it.
You sir are absolutely right. Nothing better than a nice slow dance with a pretty woman. Way better than any of this so called music in the air waves today.
Bobby outdid himself with this one. Lyrics written for a prisoner hoping his love would wait for him. I was a teen (17) the year this was recorded and as special as it is we were used to heart and soul music like this from both black and white (dubbed blue eyed soul) groups. RIP Bobby Hatfield.
I am a 74-year-old mom, grandma & great-grandma & I have recently discovered "reactions" videos. You are one of my favorites. Like Mr Video & others, I love that you appreciate our music from the '60s. I know that I am blessed to have "come of age" during that era. Also, I actually DID get pregnant with my first child to this song! Again, thank you for your honest reactions
I LOVE seeing you younguns react to OUR BELOVED RIGHTEOUS BROTHERS. I AM SOOO VERY HAPPY and GRATEFUL for these WONDERFUL memories of my teenage years. ETERNAL GRATITUDE, BELOVED 🙏🏽💚😇
This is singing. No technical adjustments. Just standing there and letting the song Flow. His voice is beautiful and the control is so evident did it just seems effortless.
If you get the chance there are some reaction videos for this song from vocal coaches and others you should check out. Quick note, the fact this was a live performance makes it even more special. Loved growing up with real music and talent. Most musicians from the 50's through the 70's were self taught and it showed.
Best of the male-reaction videos to this cover. One suggestion, if I may: all of the reaction videos are so impressed by what Bobby does at the near-end, that they talk over his stunning ending. I liked so much that you would rewind a bit, that really helps to hear the full music. And it would be great for listeners to do that at the end. Bobby Hatfield is hitting an E5 when everyone is so amazed and starts talking. However, he continues to rise with music, hitting an F5, F#5, and finally ending on G5 (maybe even slightly sharp?), an insane range when you consider the lowest note was C4. 20-note range in this key, all musically sensible, none for show. Amazing.
Yeah, that's the thing... he's selling the song and the emotion, not how amazing he is and "I can do this, this and now, listen to this!". It seems like he's not trying, because he isn't trying to just belt at the top of his voice and include every trick he knows. I like your "musically sensible" phrase.
I am not very good at music theory, so the other day, out of sheer curiosity, I pulled out my soprano recorder and played the end by ear. That's exactly what I came to, and I couldn't believe it! :-) When/if _I_ sing, my voice range is second alto (I can reach first tenor if need be). Haven't touched this high a note since I was a girl!
He had a 4 octave range back then. He figured he had added another note when it was done for Ghost 25 years later. I believe this episode of the Andy Williams Show was recorded in Dec 64 so both Bill and Bobby would have been 24. There is another gem with them and Andy from the same show.
I appreciate Bobby’s range and I really like how the song sets up some of the lowest notes to go almost directly in front of some of the highest. It’s a great performance of a great song by a great singer. The live orchestra and background singers add to too.
As you touched on with "He ain't even trying" , it is amazing how effortlessly he can hit both ends of his vocal range, and how far that range extends. That he can do it and remain smooth and strong throughout that entire range is quite stunning.
Awesome reaction! I can see your appreciation comes from the heart. Ignore the negative comments. I'm an old white guy and I understand your first impression. You related his soulful voice to your own culture as a black man. I consider that a compliment to both our heritages. Music bonds us. We are all the Human race. Enjoy!
I think it's one of those recordings where everybody realizes that they may do it differently, but they're not going to do it any better, so they don't even try.
It's so beautiful to see how music brings generations together because deep feelings affect all people. You just melt away with this song.💘💘Great Reaction, so nice.
Another factor that almost kept Bobby's from singing that night was that he was just getting over a head cold. If you listen closely, you'll hear some nasality, which, in my opinion, actually ADDS to an even greater soulful timbre.
@@artbagley1406 I agree ... just perfect. He was like a human siren, everyone male or female could not resist those seductive dulcet tones. His Ebb Tide, Somwhere, If I Ruled the World are fabulous, but this live version of UM is perfection.

I've just spent 2 days going down the rabbit hole of reactions and I have to say, your reaction to this live performance is my favourite. I was 11 yrs old when this performance was done, on the Andy Williams Show, and have loved the Righteous Brothers since I first heard them. To see your reaction gives me hope that there are more young people, like you out, there that are discovering what pure talent is. Keep up the great work. I moved to Australia (from England) as a 15 yr old and discovered there were some really talented singers here too. If you want to hear some Aussie Soul, check out a video of Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham singing "When something is wrong with my baby". I would love to see your reaction to that one.
He was doing that LIVE.. no studio . A lost " style"😥😥...entertainers as well as singers And he was nervous because his parents were in the audience. Used in the movie " Ghost" ....Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore Bobby Hatfield...gone too soon😥
You are so sweet listening to this. Im 66 always loved soul music and there are some excellent “blue-eyed soul” artists. You found Righteous Brothers - the best of blue-eyed soul. Respect.
I just watched you react to this again. So he had people wondering how did he hit that high note all through this performance, then at the end, just to prove it was no accident, he went back up there and played around with those high notes, then went even higher, to blow all our minds. Still amazing.
He was probably one of the best counter tenors in living history. Not falsetto, just his natural head voice. He could switch from chest to head voice so effortlessly, just amazing.
It isn't so wonderful to see the young people appreciate the artists we listened to back in the day who just sang from their hearts with no gimmicks, autotune, any of that. Makes me proud of our music back in the day.
Re the comment that he wasn’t singing with a lot of effort: Enrico Caruso ( old time opera singer) is reputed to have said that to sing effortlessly requires enormous effort.
If you want to see someone singing seemingly without effort, that would be Nat King Cole. It was like he'd just open his mouth and that _sound_ would come out. My God, that man was talented.
These were truly talented vocalists and musicians doing live performances....now you understand why all of us “old farts” say that contemporary artists can’t sing!
This is what i want from a reaction someone who is genuinely surprised and impressed by what they hear by far my favourite reaction of this song !!!!!!!
Thank you, Twon, for your joy and appreciation watching of this beautiful rendition. I was 24 y. o. when Bobby sang this in 1965. It is still a thrill. He was so gifted. ♥️
I saw them in Vegas in the early 90's. Mr Hatfield sang this song and there was not a dry eye in the house. When he finished and the applause died down, Mr Medley said, "That's a song that don't get no damn easier to sing." LOL !! Always wonderful. Enjoyed watching your reaction! 👍
Holy great balls of fire! This guy is so amazing and seems so humble about it all. You're so right about how there just aren't singers like this anymore - just a great voice with a great song. No autotune or studio tricks. Why are singers so afraid to just be a great singer and let the music do the talking? Great reaction and really loved your enjoyment of this incredible song that's incredibly difficult to perform...at least like he does ;)
Went to see Meat Loaf in Cardiff, and at the interval going for drinks, this young twelve ish year old girl walked out with her mother. I was chatting and said 'but you weren't even born when he first hit the big time' Her reply was, 'We just don't have anyone like him now' And that was around 2006, I think. So the circle keeps going round. Different music, but the same raw talent.
Was in the movie Ghost. He performed this this night for his Mom in the crowd for the first time. And that smile at the end tells you he knew he nailed it!
You have just experienced pure raw, untainted talent. A well dressed man with his microphone. Bobby had a rare voice with which he could touch people's soul. He had a soft heavenly voice that melted hearts and provoked a wide range of emotions that left people stunned, speechless much like you experienced listening to him. Emotions can be difficult to explain sometimes specially if they run deep. Love your genuine reaction, the vivid expressions of your face, your lack of words to explain what Bobby's interpretation of this song provoked in you. He touched your soul. He made this song immortal, many artists before and since sang this song but Bobby's interpretation was and still is by far the best (at least according to me anyways although I'm sure I'm not alone in this). I have grandchildren about your age and possibly older than you and this was the music I grew up with. Now I am enjoying the much younger generation rediscovering this gems and feeling the same we felt every time we heard them back then. Much love ❤️❤️❤️
This song comes from a day when singers actually had to have talent to be successful. Something that most so-called "musicians" today just don't have. Bobby Hatfield had more talent in his fucking pinky than most singers today have.
Thank you for your refreshing and sweet, honest reaction to this exquisite song done by Bobby Hatfield. His strong, pure, soaring tenor has never been equaled in his reedition of Unchained Melody. These guys have great voices, breath control etc. They are iconic. Just like little Richard, Elvis, Marvin Gaye and the like..those guys could sure sing like this... cold.
75 here. Yes I love how we can all respond to and recognize Beauty...because it comes truly from the One Source of all Beauty!
His mom was sitting in the audience that night. She must have been sooooo proud. ♥
R.I.P. Bobby Hatfield. You will never be forgotten in the world to music.
I was never familiar with The Righteous Bros. before much. I’ve been watching this live performance over and over, trying to make sense of this guy’s unearthly talent. I’m 64 years old, and Bobby Hatfield along with Bill Medley will never be forgotten by me the rest of my years.
@@jamesbattista1466 same. I have watched this performance maybe 100 times because I have never heard anything even close to being this flawless and perfect. Best of all time.
So sad he died way too soon… look up the details. Must have been so tragic for Bill Medley- they were to perform in Michigan, November 2003, he died in his sleep… I’ll leave the details out. But what a brilliant beautiful singer… in my opinion one of the BEST 😔
Even after more than 50 years this song still gives me a tingle.
ME TOO
more than a tingle ... :)
Takes so far back I trip over myself! Freshman year in high school! Always gives me such a rush!
The best blue-eyed soul group to ever be
No editing, No copy and paste. No Auto tune or Melodyne. Just pure unbelievable live talent. Just amazing. No one can do this song the way Bobby Hatfield did it.
They did duets, but also did occasional solos. They tossed a coin for this and Bobby won, thank God.
I would like to hear Bill Medley sing it back then to see what it sounded like.
@@thewiseoldherper7047 I'd have liked to hear it as a duet, their voices merged so perfectly. I think they were better in harmony even than the Everlys.
I’m 65 and this song still touches me goosebumps and tears to my eyes! 🫂
Maybe when the younger generations hear this kind of music, they can understand a little better why so many of us "ole folks" complain so much about "modern day music".
Music?
@@raymcnulty5252 Um, how about "ear garbage"?
His parents were in the audience and he was so worried he wouldn't do a good job......nailed it!
Hardly... This was masterful, the guy clearly was an elite singer, he did not nail it... He mastered it.
Perfect
YA HIS MOM...WAS THEIR..
@@shibolinemress8913 I saw someone react to this with the interview intact just before this. So it's somewhere here on UA-cam. In it, they explain how they chose Bobby to do it, basically they just thought he was right for it, but the other RB joked he didn't realize what a hit it would be. lol
A person can’t listen to Righteous Brothers without feeling it!
"He didn't even try." Truer words never spoken!!
Listen to Bobby sing "Stay with me". Absolutely amazing his vocal range
Bobby just owns this song. Major props to the musicians working behind him as well.
It's the NBC orchestra for the Andy Williams Show. I saw this on live tv in 1965.
The look on your face when he hit that high note. I'd been sitting here waiting for it.
Haha me too. You can see him grooving & then he gets caught off guard. Priceless
YEP
This is live.....wayyyy pre auto tune. Pure talent.
Once upon a time, long ago, singers could actually sing.
Watch what he does with the mic. He’s adjusting the sound by moving the mic. Crazy talent
Effortless and beautiful the magic of Bobby Hatfield
@Sith Jawa And kazoo?
Bobby was a distant cousin of mine... I wish I had just a portion of his talent.
Your feeling is indescribable because he's not singing to you, he's singing to your soul.
For sure For reeeeeeally really really reals I honestly can't gear them without crying 😭 honestly though
I meant hear
Boogie Woogie from Porky's?
100% live. No autotune. And not one note out of tune. Amazing!
This light skinned brother just loves your reaction to one of the best duo’s ever. Your joy was contagious. Thank you for bringing a smile to my face.
I'm a 58 year-old white woman, and watching your reaction enhanced my appreciation of this song, thanks, it was fun to watch
I concur from a 70 white woman.
Same! Your face at 5:44... I do that hearing certain 'sangers' and my kids call it stank face. Love your stank face 🥴
I am also a 58 year old white woman. I loved his reaction. The way he sings this song does seem so effortless.
I have heard thousands of live performances. This has to be one of the best singing performances I have ever heard
Bobby Hatfield is unbelievable in this song. All dressed up for his parents in audience. He knew he nailed it 🙌
Back then, they all pretty much dressed in suits to perform
That's why he bit his lip at the end of the song! He knew he'd nailed it completely!!!
He'd been so worried about not hitting the ending bc his mama was there and he didn't want to disappoint her. He did.not.disappoint.
Bill was wearing the same suit, I'm not sure about Andy, I think he was just toning with the shade :D
My DAD sent this to my MOM from Vietnam by tape because he loved ❤ her so much, it's the only one Bobby does by himself
When I hear Bobby sing this song, so much from his heart…. This was sung while thousands of our young men were tramping through the jungles of Vietnam fighting a in a war.
BOBBY 😍 "Unchained Melody" belongs to him, as far as I'm concerned.
And still in love with him😎😎😎
I agree! It is truly Bobby's song.
It's credited to The Rightous Brothers but yes it is only Bobby Hatfield's voice in the song.
May he rest in peace.
No argument whatsoever with that thought. Kinda similar to Joe Cocker ownership of Beatles, With A Little Help From My Friends. They know it. Joe knows it.
RIGHT
Back in the day songs like this you held your lady close, CLOSE on the dance floor and just swayed against each other. Romance, pure romance my man!
My husband got on one knee, took my hand, and sang this to me in a restaurant!! Heck yeah, romance!
You sir are absolutely right. Nothing better than a nice slow dance with a pretty woman. Way better than any of this so called music in the air waves today.
My parents used to dance to this in our living room. RIP mom and dad💖
I saw in another comment on a different "Unchained Melody" reaction
"1 Billion people are alive today bc of that song. " 😂
From an old lady who Loves this music,,BLESS YOUR LITTLE HEART, and keep appreciated the music
❤️
I love❤this song and this voice. Bobby Hatfield is flawless and timeless.
It’s great to see a new generation appreciating great music. Great singing, no auto tune. Just pure class
I LOVE seeing you younguns react to OUR BELOVED RIGHTEOUS BROTHERS. I AM SOOO VERY HAPPY and GRATEFUL for these WONDERFUL memories of my teenage years. ETERNAL GRATITUDE, BELOVED 🙏🏽💚😇
and this was LIVE ! Most of us from that day thought he was the greatest singer of all time . I only wish they had done more.
Bobby Hatfields range was once in a lifetime.
He's great, but there are others with great range too. Freddie Mercury...
Check out Dimash...Love is Like a Dream
Yes, until Dimash Kudaibergen came along!
Agree and the tone of his voice was like honey as well ...
One of the most beautiful smoothest songs ever put out by Bobby , they just don’t make em like this anymore ! ❤
Fil Henley at Wings of Pegasus does the best analysis of this by far. Very enjoyable, detailed, respectful.
Righteous Brothers is where the term Blue Eyed Soul came from. Both had and have wonderful voices. RIP Bobby
Enjoy!
agree brother
No one has never done this song better then the late great Bobby Hatfield of 'The Righteous Brothers.' Priceless! Great Reaction...
Truth. I've heard numerous covers, but nobody can touch Bobby on this one.
I think it's one of those recordings where everybody realizes that they may do it differently, but they're not going to do it any better, so they don't even try.
Marc martel is a very close second.
It's so beautiful to see how music brings generations together because deep feelings affect all people. You just melt away with this song.💘💘Great Reaction, so nice.
It makes me happy to see young people discover how great the music was in my generation.
A little trivia, he almost didn't sing this song he thought it was too slow, but it was one of the best things he ever did
Another factor that almost kept Bobby's from singing that night was that he was just getting over a head cold. If you listen closely, you'll hear some nasality, which, in my opinion, actually ADDS to an even greater soulful timbre.
YES .... It brought him equal with Bill Medley
@@artbagley1406 I agree ... just perfect. He was like a human siren, everyone male or female could not resist those seductive dulcet tones. His Ebb Tide, Somwhere, If I Ruled the World are fabulous, but this live version of UM is perfection.
@@ThePatriotPoet23 you're joking, obviously? He was head and shoulders above Bill, why he was called 'the other brother' could never understand.
@@rubydazzler At that time Bill was considered The head brother .... remember their biggest song was YOU LOST THST LOVE AND FEELING with Bill taking the lead. I am not saying Bob by Hatfield was no less ..... I was implying this song really put him in the Lime Light.
It didn't take 23 producers and auto-tune. It was just talent. It makes it hard to take contemporary artists seriously.
One of the most underrated singers of all time, absolutely brilliant
His mum was in the audience for this. Imagine that!
I would love to see your reaction to that one.
you're right. Very few of today's singers could not hold a candle to the singers in the 50's and 60's. They were so much better back then.
He was doing that LIVE.. no studio .
A lost " style"😥😥...entertainers as well as singers
And he was nervous because his parents were in the audience.
Used in the movie " Ghost" ....Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore
Bobby Hatfield...gone too soon😥
You are so sweet listening to this. Im 66 always loved soul music and there are some excellent “blue-eyed soul” artists. You found Righteous Brothers - the best of blue-eyed soul. Respect.
I just watched you react to this again. So he had people wondering how did he hit that high note all through this performance, then at the end, just to prove it was no accident, he went back up there and played around with those high notes, then went even higher, to blow all our minds. Still amazing.
Yes! I've heard this song a million times, but not with this ending. Love it!
He was probably one of the best counter tenors in living history. Not falsetto, just his natural head voice. He could switch from chest to head voice so effortlessly, just amazing.
Bobby had a 6 octave singing range and he showed it off at the end of this song. Unbelievable!
no machines then you just had to sing it.
It isn't so wonderful to see the young people appreciate the artists we listened to back in the day who just sang from their hearts with no gimmicks, autotune, any of that. Makes me proud of our music back in the day.
Just discovered this channel and this kid’s genuine appreciation and love at hearing this makes me happy.
Elvis has covered this song and even the King cant unseat Bobby Hatfield. This is his song till the end of time.
Totally agree! Man had soul !
Re the comment that he wasn’t singing with a lot of effort: Enrico Caruso ( old time opera singer) is reputed to have said that to sing effortlessly requires enormous effort.
Bloody right!
If you want to see someone singing seemingly without effort, that would be Nat King Cole. It was like he'd just open his mouth and that _sound_ would come out. My God, that man was talented.
he had such control of his vocal chords, mouth, etc. and used his gorgeous voice to perfection on this. wow.
Watch Pavarotti in his prime. The Maestro himself. He made the high notes look effortless
My late dad loved listening to Caruso. I liked his voice too tho I wasn't into opera.
These were truly talented vocalists and musicians doing live performances....now you understand why all of us “old farts” say that contemporary artists can’t sing!
This is what i want from a reaction someone who is genuinely surprised and impressed by what they hear by far my favourite reaction of this song !!!!!!!
i was born in 61 and now at 62 yrs i am tickked to see you smile AND say that this type of singing needs to be brought back THANK YOU JESUS HUGS
Bobby Hatfield owns this song...
Even after all these years, this music still moves me to tears.
Was in the movie Ghost. He performed this this night for his Mom in the crowd for the first time. And that smile at the end tells you he knew he nailed it!
The reason that he did this song solo, was that his partner didn't believe it would be a hit. He recorded it alone, and it hit in the top ten.
I think that Bill knew the song would be best with just Bobby singing.
Even though this is a "solo", the "Righteous Brothers", hands down, are probably the best male duo ever! Just sayin'.
He just stands there and it all just comes out of his mouth effortlessly , these guys led the way back then such a pure voice .
I love watching the younger generation reacting to such beautiful classics. I luv your soul, and thank you for sharing. 🦋
You seem humble, joyful, and enthusiastic about music. It was a pleasure to travel along with you, on this journey of discovery. Subscribed.
This song comes from a day when singers actually had to have talent to be successful. Something that most so-called "musicians" today just don't have. Bobby Hatfield had more talent in his fucking pinky than most singers today have.
Well ... He earned that pinky ring! Love his pinky suit too! He had a mirror in his pocket ...
Literally true.
Yup
Excellent analysis!
One had to actually be able to sing back then. No auto tune, nothing to save them.
Thank you for your refreshing and sweet, honest reaction to this exquisite song done by Bobby Hatfield. His strong, pure, soaring tenor has never been equaled in his reedition of Unchained Melody. To me this is the most beautiful love song of all time. I have no words to describe how Bobby's Unchained Melody makes me feel, such rare tenderness and heart, passion and beauty is worthy of tears, ~ of joy.
This live version is even better than the recorded one.
That’s immense talent. A great five octave voice that is one in a million.
