I have the same knife, I absolutely love it. The handle ergonomics are very good. This comes with me on all my day hikes. For a big folder it feels good in the pocket
Great video! You don't need the glove or the clamp. It won't fail! If you belt sharpen it to a convex grind it will feather stick much better! Your test was one of the more delicate test I've seen on YT. It'll take way more abuse and survive. The worst I've seen happen is a blunted tip and a loose pivot screw. You can trust it! Saw a video from Finland where the tester drove a 4 max scout into a tree with a baton then climbed up onto the handle and it supported his 250lb plus weight for an extended time. He also tied it to a long stick and made a hunting spear which he repeatedly threw at and stuck into a tree. 99% of all folding knives fail the spear test on the first throw. He was flabbergasted, almost speechless. The 4 max is the big brother of the Ad10 but both are nearly indestructible.
I have the 4-Max Scout, which is similar to the AD-10. A big, chonky, almost indestructible knife. I wish it had S35VN, but that version is $500. AUS 10A is good though
Another great one to try is the 4 Max. It's basically this knife but beefier in every way. It's my go-to in the woods if I don't want to carry a fixed blade.
Ive owned the AD10 24 hours. I have MANY knives… Medfords, Microtech , 1:28 bucks, case etc etc. More than 100 … for the money… bang for your Buck and dependability… Cold Steel did well… it’s the S35VN steel. I really can’t complain…
@@rockd8946 I think the Knife industry will not rest until every one of us carries some kind of goofy pocket fix blade! even though everyone understands that this Knife will do everything better and safer than some of the options there pushing on us in the last couple years
Hmmm... I can Feather Stick just fine with mine; you just have to find the right blade angle to Feather Stick with the AD10 or the 4-Max Scout. In my opinion, it's a awesome Camp Folder that can take the place of a Fixed Blade for a lot of Woodcrafting Tasks. :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
The triad lock is the strongest on the market. Medfords are mostly made with frame locks, which are much more susceptible to unlocking under high stress. Not saying a Medford ever unlocked on me, just pointing out the lock differences. His metallurgy is always second to none
You must put your finger forward to catch the Tang of the Blade as it closes. Watch one of my Cold Steel Tri-Ad Folder Videos to see how to open and close your Tri-Ad Folders properly without injury to yourself. :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

Glad you took my advice and picked one up. The Recon 1 is better overall and has great slicing geometry.

I resharpened mine as a scandi grind and is super slicy now, I love it
Great start of video.
I give it like in first 10 seconds.
😂
Cool video… I like the quote- ideally I want to EDC a knife that I can use for everything. Makes perfect sense.
Great video! Do you have any other stress tests in mind for this one?

Me, too! I absolutely luv the 4-Max Scout, it "ROCKS!!!" :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
I was debating whether to get the coldsteel Ad10 or the benchmade adamas.
I went with the Ad10, and I'm happy I did. Thanks for the review.

Awesome test and review. Cool brute of a knife

Love your channel. Just to confirm, are you saying this knife is tougher than any of the Medfords you own? Thank you for your opinion.

The 4Maxx is the big brother excellent

Nice job 👍 ❤🎉
My thoughts exactly : That's a knife that can handle coconuts . 😮
How is it vs the Cold Steel 4 Max?
Smaller?
Ad10 i have come so sharp. Not liking the lock though it bit me clean to my bone when trying to close it lol

Still love it???
The AD10 works great as a Camp Folder. And, it feathers great, you just need to improve your skills with it. :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
Funny enough, i carry both this and a bugout as my edc.
you should get a AK47 COLD STEEL
now that's a beast of a knife :)
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
A decent 3.5 fixed blade is lighter and way stronger for outdoors use. So AD10 just lives in a draw now.
@@enwin1912 most knives of that size are more of a novelty items. At least AD10 can do what it says
