OMG, thanks so much. I've asked my doctor how a delivery room looks like, and she just said "Like any other one" HELLLO, I'm a new mom and never been in a L&D room before! This video rockkkssssss!
I am 30 weeks pregnant with my 4th child. The anxiety about L&D never goes away with each consecutive birth, likely especially because my first birth was very traumatic. So thank you for taking the time to create these videos. One can be physically and materially prepared, but this is the one source that helps relieve some of the anxiety and helps me to mentally prepare.
Oh my gosh Sarah, I just love you!! You're so awesome at what you do and EVERYONE can tell how much you love what you do. Keep being you. I think you'll be an incredible mom when you have your kids, if you have a desire to want children.
Thank you for this video! 35 weeks pregnant and haven’t had a hospital tour or anything because of covid. Anyway, so ready to have this baby! (When she’s done cooking! 😂)
My hubby and I are expecting baby #4, so I'm not expecting my "first rodeo" as it were but I STILL learn something new from all of your videos. Thank you so much for your in depth explanations and just your general attitude towards what you do!❤❤
Oo very helpful! I’m one of those gals who really wanted a home birth for the comfort of it but I’m just NOT comfortable with the risks. I’ll be excited to see how to make the room cozy!
Yeah I had a vbac after being induced in April. I brought lollipops, scents, mood lighting, snacks, pictures of my first baby and of course all of my notes and lists for a successful vbac. I loved being in a hospital, being taken care of by super nice nurses and doctors, left alone lol when not in active labor, whatever. I nearly bled (sp?) to death after baby came out, so it was essential I was there. Baby #1 had fluid in lungs, so again, glad I was at the hospital. I had too many family members for first birth, which is one of the reasons why I didn't progress well and ended up with c section. I say that in case you wanted more, but COVID is restricting, think of it as a good thing maybe?:) Good luck with it!!!
I was pretty tired so he might have but I don't remember my son ever going to a warmer. All his vitals were taken using mommy as a baby bed haha. Our nurse took him to get a weight but that was quick and not until at least an hr after birth. Myself or my hubby had him in our arms until he got to his bassinet in post partum. I loved it. I chose a baby friendly hospital knowing he'd be with us more.
I just wanted to say I had my baby boy eight days ago and your videos were so helpful throughout the duration of my pregnancy. I will admit that although I tried to use some of your breathing techniques, I did end up being a screamer once I got to transition. 😭🤣🤣
I’d love it if the hospital bed video came out within the next week, I’m being induced next week so that would be super helpful! Love all of your videos!
This is so cool! I’m not sure if it’s possible but if you could do a tour of a birth center and compare/contrast birth centers and hospital settings that could be a really neat video!
It would be helpful if you could make a video or even just a pdf list of things and tips for dad to tell them how to help us out during the contractions during the rush and after baby comes. I know u give tips but it would be so nice it was like in a list.
We get to meet our second baby in 6 weeks (flex and flow) and even though we’ve been through this before, I keep watching your videos because they are so reassuring.
@@sarahlavonne Not yet, I interviewed and shadowed, and did the reference check, and most of all the other stuff. Next week is the HR appointment for paperwork and Employee Health, and then I start in a month!! Stoked, shadowed at another hospital and LOVED it, and this one too!! I have literally spent the last ten plus years trying to get into Maternal Child Heath, and FINALLY did it! My area is saturated with nurses wanting that area so.... Not giving up finally paid off!
I wish I could attach a photo of the hospital room I gave birth in! Every hospital room had a full birthing bath in each room! I didn't use it for health restrictions, but would have been such a great thing! 😊
Great video 👍🏿! I’m a doula and my channel’s about motherhood ❤️. I just did a video on the hospital from a doula’s prospective. This is great for first time parents 🤗!
Do most labour and delivery rooms have no windows? Where I’m from where you get admitted/checked, the labour/delivery rooms and where you stay(some private, some shared) after baby, have windows and now some hospitals allow you to labour/deliver and stay in the same private room❤️and all these have windows. So I do love the lighting idea(from your other video) for at night, but during the day it can’t be darkened to extreme...thanks for the room tour.
From what I understand, windows let in dust, so when the environment needs to be sterile, like an operating room or a birthing room, it’s easier to avoid windows.
Man I wish this video was made before I had my baby a few months ago! My nurse basically told us nothing. Definitely tried to use the ”call button” on the bed... Which of course didn’t work so my husband ended up running out into the hall to find a nurse when the IV started beeping like crazy lol.
Birth centers (even in hospitals) look totally different. My room had a queen sized bed. If you're considering a natural birth, but want to be in the hospital, a birth center might be a good fit.
Could you go in depth on preeclampsia and postpartum preeclampsia. I just had my little guy 11/21/20. I was induced, labor and delivery went beautifully only 8 hours of active labor and 50 minutes of pushing, but we ended up stuck in the hospital for 4 days and than a trip to the ER a couple days after we got home for high blood pressure. Is this something I’m going to have an issue with the next baby? Is there a way to prevent it? Thank you!
I'm 41 weeks 4 days and 4cm dilated and STILL have not felt a true contraction. Which makes me nervous because I think I'm going to go straight into full blown contractions. Or...God will bless me with an easy birth. 🙏
hey Sarah please ans this in your next coffee and question or ans here.. i am 33 weeks pregnant with my first baby baby’s estimated weight is between 2.7 kg to 2.9 Dr says it’s lil too much for now and if it become 4 kg at the time of delivery than i will most likely to have cesarean.. i really want vaginal delivery.. is anything i can do to increase vaginal delivery chance.. i have diabetes prior to getting pregnant but it’s in control.
They are scaring you. I was told my baby was big by the tech, then the ultrasound dr. My OB reassured me it was ok. My baby was measuring 3.5 when the average was 3.0. Those are estimates. They’ll tell you to expect a big baby and in many instances you have a baby between 6-7lbs. Not very big
While I was in labor I asked the nurse to help me walk to the bathroom to pee and she said I wasn't allowed to because I was to far along and needed to just use a bed pan. I wasnt a 10 or anything
Some nurses are just either too scared because of past patient experience, or maybe she was concerned about you being dizzy or falling (maybe your BP was low or something), or unfortunately just lazy. Probably the latter 😔
OMG, thanks so much. I've asked my doctor how a delivery room looks like, and she just said "Like any other one" HELLLO, I'm a new mom and never been in a L&D room before! This video rockkkssssss!
Finally a new post. Been waiting new ones. 38weeks pregnant and ready to pop! XO from The Netherlands

Yes I do and wow thank you so so so much!!! This is so sweet
This is great information. Im giving birth to my first child in January. This gives me an idea of what to look forward to. Thank you.😌
Wow!! This was waaaaaaaaaaaay more informative than my hospital tour.....
Then again I had a section.
This was reeeeerally good Sarah 👍🏾
those hospital tours are usually useless

You are a good nurse and teacher!

I love this video I’m getting induced on Monday so I know what to expect.
A greatly desired video! Wonderfully done, Sarah! 🥰

Any tips for not throwing up in labour? It's my biggest fear and I'm 38 weeks
Less pressure on Perineum while on the toilet … what does that mean?better than being in your back?
Nice information mam thanks 🙏
Which facility is this?
Do hospitals provide new clothes for babies

I’m only 7 and half weeks but I feel like I know nothing lol so I’m learning.
The beds at my hospital are so high that I needed the stool to get in and out of it 😂
This is the exact reason I don’t want to go to a hospital to give birth no one is gonna take my baby away from me
That is a tiny labor and delivery room. The smallest i’ve seen yet. 😬
You said candles, and I remembered how calming the flame to look at is for me... But then I also remembered you can't have flames in the hospital????
People bring the battery operated ones
