Just want to say thank you, Sarah. Gave birth to my son today and all I could think about was flex and flow. I was upright and focusing on my breathing/releasing any tension. It honestly helped so much and created such a calm space for me before I went into transition. I was also lucky enough to have a midwife trust me and body's instinct to keep moving. In the end, I had such a calm early labour and active labour was for less than one hour. Thank you so much Sarah!
Woo been looking forward to a new video! I shared your channel with the 50 people in my online childbirth class last night, because you've helped me so much and I am a 4th time mom! As full term approaches I'm rewatching your old videos and making sure to watch every single new one!!!
With my first, I instinctively wanted to get on hands and knees, but my nurses did not want to let me. I was like I don’t care I’m getting on my hands and knees, and I felt soooo much better!
Stumbled on your page 3 nights ago and have been binging ever since. 90 days out from my due date. 1st timer and I have to say I am feeling light years better about delivery. I have shared your page with all my mommas to be!
I've watched your videos since having my first child years ago, I'm now due my third baby and planning a home birth 😍 you are so real, I love your channel! ❤️
38 weeks pregnant today with my first! I was only 1/2cm dialated last week and my next appointment isn't until 39 weeks! I'm so ready to meet my little boy 💙🤍💙🤍
Do you know that you rock? lol I just want you to know you do. lol I'm 37 weeks and my body has passed all soft labor signs just waiting for the 2 real labor signs. I'm READY! Im gonna ask for more pillows every new nurse! 😆 Thank you for your knowledge ma'am.
I'm pregnant again, and back in 2020 I was OBSESSED with your channel to help me have an amazing birth. One line that stuck out with me deciding on pain management was "am I coping or suffering?" And it helped me decide to get pain management. Granted baby came out before the epidural was administered but still! I felt in control because of that question. I'm so excited to watch your channel again for this pregnancy!! Thank you!
Same here!! I ended up with an epidural after 5 hours of back labor and no progress with my pandemic baby. Hoping that we can have a water birth with our little girl this time around!
I love how passionate you are about your work! You are certainly helping me feel more ready for birth. I'm 27 weeks now so I've got some time. Thanks Sarah!!
Love your videos! Going for a VBAC after a crash c-section under GA with my first. Binging all your videos before my baby boy comes in the next month ❤️
You are such an awesome nurse! Wish you were on my team, this is my 4th child 1st without any medication...you are inspiring me to do this naturally thank you for your informative and fun video!!!🤗🙌
Excellent video 👏🏿! That’s one of my biggest advice to my clients also, to move and change positions every 30 minutes or so! It’s also personally helped me have my births without an epidural also because it really helps with the pain 🙏🏿! Super excited for my 4th birth 🤗! Thanks for sharing Sarah ❤️!
Here we go again Miss Sarah!!!! I'm pregnant again 5w3d!!! I'll definitely be watching ur videos again throughout my pregnancy. This is the 3rd one I'll be watching u with. I'm so excited for all ur new videos and of course I'll be rewatching a lot of them!!! Yay!!!
Love it! this is right on time 3rd pregnancy and currently 37 weeks today will be induced at 38 weeks I get so tired and annoyed of the back laying only for 30+ hours 🙄. Thank you!!! 😊
You are amazing, so comforting and friendly. Thank you. My mucus plug is gone and period like cramps has started, my fourth son, and second free birth, lets do this!!!
Motion is lotion! 🔥🔥🔥 25 weeks pregnant with my first baby and weirdly excited about labor 😅👌 You mentioned “walking epidural”, did I miss a video on this on your channel? Would love to hear more info on this topic! Thanks ❤️
I think Sarah does have a video on it. It’s not very popular in the US. You will have to talk to your medical provider to see if they have it as an option. It might be all or nothing. 🤗
My most instinctive position for pushing is left side lying with a good grip on my upper leg, I have had two non medicated births and its just where I go. Once I dilate and they broke my water membranes (never had my water break naturally) my body gets into push mode fairly quickly.
Thank you thank you thank you for emphasizing rest and instinct. I still get upset about being pushed to walk by my doula during my first birth and wearing myself out. I wish I had focused on comfort above all else.
I didn't dilate all day despite being upright and moving. My midwife convinced me that I needed to get into some more aggressive positions to push labor along. Being on the birth ball was out of my mind painful but she gave me nitrous, broke my water and had me sit on the birth ball all at the same time. I flew into nonstop contractions, couldn't stand it and got an epidural despite trying for a natural birth and my baby was born having aspirated meconium...my water was clear when it was broken. I completely blame it on not listening to me and my body and doing something that didn't feel right.
Thank you Sarah this is super helpful because I'm getting induced tomorrow and I was super confused and nervous what kind of position I can do when going into the hospital. This is first baby so I'm trying not to get the epidural.
I wish I would have seen your video 8 years ago! I was induced and had an epidural with my first. I felt Paralyzed. I couldn’t move. I labored on my back all night, my water had broke (it was a gush and was discolored) 18 hours previously, before the Dr came in to deliver the baby. None of the medical team even suggested moving into different positions. When it came ‘time’ to deliver, my baby’s head was so swollen, the Dr didn’t know what direction his head was facing, and he was stuck. She had given me an episiotomy, but that did little. I pushed and pushed for 45 minutes to an hour. At the end, I told her I felt like I was going to pass out. I gave the last of my energy to two more pushes… he was finally born, but lifeless. A team rushed in and resuscitated him. He had no breath or heartbeat for 8 minutes. He is now a healthy 8 year old, but if I’d known about movement, I think it would have saved us all this trauma.
I’m now pregnant with my 4th. This is baby’s due date, and I’m currently rocking on an exercise ball. I had no clue how much the pelvis moved! Thank you for this educational video!
I normally sleep in the position you were in at 15 minutes. At 39w i went to sleep at 1am having no signs of labor, woke up at 230 having contractions every 2-3 minutes. Idk if that positon helped us along or if little lady just really wanted out lol
When you like the video before watching it 😅 thank you for providing this education, never once was anything like this talked about in hospital provided birth classes
I did everything in the books and I still labored for 4 days with back labor for my first. Delivery was long too. My doula and midwife were certain that I wouldn't be able to get him out... and that I'll be needing a csection. He was in occiput posterior position. And my pelvic opening is narrow. But I eventually pushed him out. This was unmedicated too. I'm not looking forward to it again soon.
Positives thoughts mama!! Every pregnancy is different and every birth is different. Hopefully all these different positions will help you progress faster. Sarah has several videos about faster labor 🤍
@@juliesemeraro663 I just gave birth to my second baby and I didn't do anything and labor was fast. Water broke by itself and I delivered 4 hours later. Baby wasn't in the best position though. But it's just my body type...narrow pelvis. And I'm short. My daughter hit her head on my bone so now she has a big bump on her head that'll take weeks to months to go down.
Great question! One I haven't seen answered on any UA-cam video and I watch hundreds of labor videos a week! I think this question could help a lot of pregnant people!
36 weeks pregnant and binging ur vids. Thanks soooo much for sharing. I feel silly but admittedly, i have been feeling some kinda way about the whole 'pooping' while pushing baby out during vag birth😤🤢🤯 not sure if anyone has had this experience before... no one really wants to talk about it but... this is my first... i am trying to prepare myself now to get baby to drop so i can pop hhhhhhh any advice appreciateda
Love your videos, question If i purchase one of the classes you offer. How long do i have access to it (to rewatch etc.)??. Trying to figure out when the best time to start. Currently almost 14 weeks with baby #4
Love your videos. Im 34 weeks but at 32 weeks my midwife measured me at 4 weeks ahead. I have a sonogram scheduled this coming week at 35 weeks. Ive not gained any weight through this entire pregnancy in fact I've lost around 20 pounds. Midwife says it nothing to worry about since baby is growing. This is my 5th pregnacy and for the first time I'm scared to death. I was diagnosed with gd but all of my monitoring for it has been normal. Please help me understand how I've not gained any weight but baby is measuring 4 weeks ahead.
Can doctors and nurses allow you to move if my water breaks before laboring? I want to know please, during my 1st pregnancy they wont let me move in the labor room because my water broke before laboring, they said it is to avoid infections. This caused fetal distress and emergency c-section. Can I possibly say NO to the doctors and nurses if I'll give birth to my 2nd one this December? I'm so scared, I don't want another c-section.
Sarah help me. I have had my last 2 babies on my hands and knees like a dog😂😢. When it's time I feel compelled to get on my knees and the baby shoots🎉 right out. Give me advice, laugh at me, tell me it's okay. I'm so ashamed I don't want to have my next baby like this! 😮

I need a "you" for my delivery in 2 weeks (or less), bc last time my nurses were not very compassionate towards mothers who refuse epidurals.

Are these position changes more relevant at the start of labour? Or throughout the whole thing, even including transition and pushing phase?
What positions do you use to lock and load once they are in the pelvis?
