    This saved my life! I had a complex shot with a moving arm that I had to cut out and mesh warp/blend into another limb, both were moving independently, and the camera was moving. What I was trying to do would have been impossible without this method, thank you so much!

    This tutorial saved my butt-the other ones were geared toward Mocha Pro, but this is remarkably useful and powerful. I picked up a lot of little tips along the way (stencil alpha-neat!)

    Wow, man. You are a God at this. May i ask how many years you've been working in Hollywood?

    • @AeBlues
      @AeBlues  4 роки тому +1

      Zero. actually in Hollywood they work with much more complex setups using apps like Nuke that can manage a lot of footage procedures. I actually don't do too much compositing work, but when I do I try to be efficient. I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

    Question: instead of fiddling with the planar surface and doing the expressions to the corner pin, why not use the expand planar surface button, invert the tracking export, and apply the effect to the layer itself? The same tracking data can be re-exported, without being inverted, to any object you line up to the stabilized footage. Since discovering this button--the same as setting the reference frame in Nuke's planar tracker--I've only manually adjusted the planar surface when doing a quick check on a track.

      thanks that's a good question. the answer is that I have tried various methods for RS extensively for years including using the method you suggest. here's an example of me explaining it:
      forums.adobe.com/message/9726281#9726281
      I found flaws in it so eventually decided to use the cc power pin approach and it was the most efficient and will explain why.
      eventually I discovered numerous issues with using push planar surface to edges vs using unstretch with cc power pin. the most severe issue was that when doing perspective when there were extreme changes in the pins (when something is far back or changing angles to extreme), the push to surface pins gets applied to corner pin (or even power pin) gets to extreme values and simply crashes in Ae.
      using the unstretch on the other hand worked EVERYTIME!. another issue was that mocha had to have two kinds of setups: with push to surface and without (for when you want to actually check your surface is solid on a screen or something so you don't want to push to surface), and they had to be aligned at the same frame - I had to remember which frame it was - it became confusing. with the technique I show, you use the same mocha instance. hope that makes sense. there were other issues as well - no motion blur which had to be compensated with effects... and I think maybe more issues..
      today BTW Mocha Pro 6.1.1 got CC Power pin export so you can skip the expression rig process if you have it.
