Sev, we will never forget you, even if Disney pretends otherwise
They are canon. They have their cameos in TWC
And I'll say their missions, at least from games, also happened
Maybe they have something in store!
I’m aware they are in The Clone Wars, back when Cartoon Network made the show and not Disney. That doesn’t mean Disney has kept the game or the books as canon

Master , you’re here
I do wonder how they would’ve tackled the sequel game of republic commandos. Sev was supposed to be one of the founders of the rebellion while his team became imperial commandos. Would it be 2 campaigns so both sides view points are shown? I’d personally like that.
From what rare info that is out there, the devs said the idea was to have sev stay on Kashyyyk and help the Wookiee rebel (as you said). The rest of Delta would become imperial commandos and be assigned to take out an insurgent who was creating trouble for the empire/taking out a lot of storm troopers. The idea was that they’d realize Sev was the target and would link up again. After that, Delta 38 would make the decision to side with Sev and the team would go rogue because they were bred to fight for the republic, not the empire.

It's honestly one of the best SW games. And, possibly only game with an AI squad that won't make a person rage at how stupid they are.

But they can still hit what they shoot at most of the time.
Indeed, after playing different games with immortal useless companions or AI that's supposed to coordinate with you and follow your orders, RC takes the gold in fact I'd give them platinum. Another tactical game I really like is Swat 4 but the AI there even with mods is not near the level of RC, they can't do anything if you don't order them around, not even move, though I get you get complete control of the squad up to the little details, but it also makes the game not so dynamic as in RC. You don't have as many commands in RC yet the AI companions are more independent and it really feels like an organic coordination with the character under our control as players, for example even ify ou order them to stay on a place, they will get out of harms way and counterattack if enemies come, but in swat 4 they'll stay pinned in the place you ordered them and will get shot down, and if they counterattack, most of the time they go on their own and get killed, disregarding all your orders.
I actually cried cause I really liked Sev and seeing grievous and yoda was awesome
the most heart breaking thing was the sequel, oh wait!, it never had one
That Is the most heart breaking thing lol
They had begun working on a sequel but due to a change in leadership (even before Disney took over) they had to scale down on the number of teams they had to develop projects, this meant they had to abandon some projects and since the sequel to Republic Commando was still in the concept art stage it was one of the projects that they had to stop working on it.

You had to remind me of the cheapest death(?) I've ever seen for a game, one that was undeserved and too sudden to even properly process. Still, this last mission for Republic Commando was difficult... and rewarding.
That said, in the legends books for the Clone Commandos, Sev survived and joined the rebels, while, unfortunately, the rest of Delta Squad served the Empire. But this is just me remembering something that I believe I read off of Wikipedia.
The book was more ambiguous, but the developers had planned for him to form the Rebellion.
What book? I don’t recall there ever being any material saying Sev lived and became a rebel. The imperial commando novel says Delta Squad joined the empire but not never got over the loss of Sev however there was no mention on his survival.
@@lawrencetalbot8346 Like I said, I was remembering something vague that I don't have full recollection of... On Wikipedia. Take I said with a grain of salt... Makes me wonder why I even remembered this...
@@lawrencetalbot8346 It was some developer thing, maybe you could find it on Wookiepedia
If only Republic Commando got that sequel, we could have seen one of the galaxy's finest soldiers take on the Empire
I sometimes suspected that Sev wasn't ambushed or attacked in anyway at the end of the game. Shortly before the final attack on the destroyer boss has to snap at sev to use a terminal, he seemed distracted, i dunno if other media invalidates my theory but I reckon if this game got a sequel there would've been some twist where Sev reveals he went AWOL or something like that. It was almost like he knew something was gonna happen but could've just been nothing and i'm over thinking it. miss RP so much :)
I don't think sev of all his brothers would go AWOL, they were all pretty loyal to each other and sev wouldn't have left without his brothers
@@lukedragan7859 you're probably right. Just felt like there was something we weren't being told. :)
I'm pretty sure there was a concept for Sev to go on to be one of the people starting the rebellion. I think what you proposed or he was taken out of commission and was only able to get back into operation at the dawn of the empire are the two most likely options in my personal opinion
In the Republic Commando novels the reason Sev went M.I.A was expanded, he ended up getting pinned down from keeping up with the others due to Trandoshans and droids keeping him back, and he’s heard audibly panting/being panicky, before his POV and such went off, causing Delta to panic and infight a bit on going back for Sev, but decided against with a heavy heart
I believe in the books he becomes dissolusioned with the republic after his trainer, a person he looked up to, turned out not to be a shining paragon of good, and this might have made him feel that the republic was not as good as it seems.
“I don’t care if the orders came from Master Yoda himself.”
"They did."
rip Sev, Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la( thats "not gone merely marching away" for all you aruetiise). also he mightn't not be dead I heard that in the sequel they were gonna make he was gonna help start the rebellion, which would have been sick.
Makes you wonder what would've happened if Sev encountered his former squad mates now working for the Empire.
I know it's not possible but it'll be cool if tarkin used the delta squad as a last resort to wipe out the bad batch
If not, there's also Cal Kestis and his gang come the sequel to Jedi: Fallen Order.
Now, if they could reinvite the voice actors for the squad...
Bad Batch is just better Delta Squad. They have the same personalities and roles but Batch is obviously superior to them. Delta wouldn't be able to do anything to them
I like to imagine that Sev made it out alive.
I used to have 4 highly detailed wookie figures. Each was a different wookie with different fur colors and weapon. And this video reminded me of them...I wonder whatever happened to them
I would love to see a delta squad and bad batch team up
I knew most of that, because of the game. But it was good to see more detail about it.
Sev isn't dead, he's just on standby, waiting to be called back into service of the Republic.
Most of the commandos: *dies on the first battle of Geonosis*
Delta Squad: nuuuu one of our comrades is dead so trajek. (In fact I like Delta Squad, completed the Republic Commando on Nintendo Switch, and still waiting for a remake)
We love you Sev! And I'm sure your brothers wouldn't abandon you! This is the best level in the game.
They were forced to abandon Sev on Kashyyyk by their Advisor stating that Delta Squad's regroup order was issued by Grand Master Yoda himself.
Nice this is actually really interesting good job.

Gameplay/story purpose, probably
Helmet modification given to the commandos to make them more unique and help each commando recognize who is saying what/relaying info. It’s explained I think in one of the novels that they all sound the same without their helmets on
@@lawrencetalbot8346 thanks for explanation, I always wondered why, I suppose it makes sense.

I find it strange how Clone Commandos are specifically meant to serve as covert operations. We've seen just how poorly things go when they're deployed to the front lines, but then at the end of their mission on Kashyyyk they're basically spearheading the front-line troops...
9:45: And now, to replay the 501st Legion's campaign from the OG Battlefront II...

Clone Commandos deserves a remaster.
Bad batch season 2:
They pick up Sev and crosshairs becomes the leader of the imperial commando squad version of delta
I hope that the Delta squad makes a Cameo in the Bad batch show
same bro
Yes I remember this mission and I was DEVASTATED
The sec situation is precisely why the republic even made the commandos. Had they sent sec troopers and a similar situation occurred, those arcs woulda have risked jeopardizing the mission to save their brother. The independent side of Scorch wanted to but the loyal side of Boss and Fixer prevented it. In this why they worked exactly as they were designed to. Independent enough to be effective in their work but loyal enough to follow order in the end. (Even if begrudgingly so.)
Can't wait for Star Marshal's take on this event.
3:08 "with difficulty"
Biggest understatement of the century
I personally think Sev is still alive, he probably got taken prisoner and sent to a seperatist prison camp. Also seems like it would be rare for a commando to be taken prisoner so they would want him alive for intertigation
DUDE IF THE BAD BATCH FINDS SEV ON KASHYYYK BROOOOOOO!!!!
I did mind Clone force 99, but I am still sad that we didn't get a series about the other commando teams (mostly Delta Squad) and sadly never will get more then the cameo in the Clone Wars. But I think Disney believes Delta Squad would out shine Clone force 99.
Bad Batch is the new Delta Dquad, they have the same personalities for the most part and the same roles. They're obviously just dialed up to 11
Disney should hire Karen Traviss. Maybe then people will actually like their movies.
Their story continued in the novel, Imperial Commando.
I also did some digging on Wookiepedia. Apparently there was strong desire by author Karen Traviss to continue the Delta Squad story *with* Sev in it, but Sev is a LucasArts character for being in Republic Commando, but LucasArts had such a strong grip on their characters even back then that she wasn’t even allowed to discuss anything on Sev or Delta Squad beyond the game story. If I read under ‘Behind the Scenes’ correctly, Republic Commando’s engineering lead indicated a sequel was planned involving Sev and his intricate involvement in the starting of the Rebellion, though given the existence of the Galen Marek story, that planned Sev may have been a draft at the time, if anything.
You could make a video about the mission of Omega squad like the book Hard Contact
