A more or less different story of post-Clone Wars Delta Squad was probably in mind by others besides Karin Traviss, and one of the most notable intended concepts was also mentioned either in an interview or a Star Wars convention by a Republic Commandos writer who practically expressed wishing he made it a reality, and that was Sev’s return to Delta Squad *alive.* The thing is, when it comes to such conflicts behind the scenes about what should be and what they’re forced to get when it comes to writing, it brings me a lack of certainty that makes me not wanna take the story-in-question at complete face value. Idk if anyone else is like that but I am. A proper story or continuation isn’t just faithful, it’s also made with the total intent that it’s written a certain way that’s *wanted,* or as much as it matters.

It would have fit well, though, with how the Republic Commando game’s story ‘ended’. I never thought Delta would be that evil, but the info here doesn't exactly help them appear to be good in any capacity. The Muunalist 10, however, are 100% pure based through and through. They are the best commandos the Republic has, even better than Clone Force 99. Especially with Quad Blaster Boy and their chad pilot who had a stare down Grievous, and won.
There are the shadow commandos in legends, Palpatine’s personal commando unit who only answered to him. They executed senators deemed “traitors to the Republic” aka Palpatine’s enemies who tried to expose his corruption

Well, Delta squad doesn't seem really evil to me, after all they freed many wookiees and I didn't see anywhere that Delta squad killed wookiees. And I can't really blame Sev for having a kill counter for Geonosians, especially when you know what Geonosians do with captured clones. The Geonosians were after all still at war with the Republic late in the war, in the game you can even see Geonosians on Kashyyyk.
I think the problem is we know then from the game. and karen traviss wrote them to be totally different in the novels. they didnt felt like delta squad at all to me. and it felt like karen traviss didn't care to align them with how they were in the games. only delta Squad from the game is canon for me, I kind of don't take delta squad from an author seriously who doesnt try to make delta squad at least a bit like in the game. she didn't capture the typical way delta squad talks and I don't think any other author would have made them out to be so evil. it is in the end an interpretation of karen traviss, and I for one don't accept that take as serious.

Delta had a debate about whether or not they would have gunned down their general had she still been on Kashyyyk when the order went out, Boss ultimately shut it down saying "she wasn't" and all of them were saddened to learn that she had been killed anyway (by another Jedi).
Etain was not a padawan when she and Darman started sleeping together, She was a full Jedi Knight, When we first meet her she was a padawan but 6 months later when Triple Zero Takes place she had passed the Trials and Become a full Knight, meaning she was likely already a fairly experienced Padawan when we met her, (Obi-Wan was 25 in Phantom Menace) and given she and Jusik are usually described as being about the same age and he is about 20 during triple zero she is probably about the same. So in short Darman did not "knock up a padawan" he knocked up a Jedi about as old as he was physically, and it's not like he ran from that either despite her not telling him about the child until the kid was a year old, once he found out he made a point of being there for both her (who he married) and their son, and had Order 66 not played out they would likely have had a happy future ahead of them.
So... what's next? Ranking which Sith Empire from the most evil one to the nicest one? If so, we all know that the Galactic Empire will be the top of the list as the most evil one.
LOL just completed my black series delta squad today. Perfect timing! While I have yet to play the game I really like them and they seem far more interesting and cooler than the Bad Batch.
They are closer in relations and genetics to the alpha arcs. But regardless they didn't really seem to care about the larger picture until it affected them and clan skiratta.
Omega Squad considering the Jedi order as being corrupt isn't so bad if you think about it, the Jedi's individually weren't all bad people however the Jedi order itself would kidnap children and often times led their troops to do horrible things trying to fulfill what they thought were better in their own minds. The Jedi order is a classic example of "The path to hell is paved by good intentions"
really good video i read the books about omega squad. and i like the colors for ion team sad what happened after the did not killed the jedi. Vadar killed two the other 2 escape but were cap and sent to a prison world on outer rim.
I want see Captain Fordo and his Muunilist 10 take apart the Empire. Personally in my own head, they did exactly that. Fordo literally kept Mundi from a near suicide run against Grievous and held the line at the Jedi Temple. Plus saved Obi-Wan from Durge. Fordo wouldn't put up with Palpatine's crap. Also having the 10 absolutely wreck Stormtroopers would be hilarious.
How evil the Jedi rank then for leading armies of cloned slaves roughly age of 9. into battle? Delta squad was following orders, including one that got their pod brother Sev killed/MIA, directly ordered by Yoda the "good guy". If soldier gets to question morality of their mission every time they deploy you won't have much of an army.
Your bias and the influence of sponsorship is showing again. If you really look into it, Delta wasn't an evil squad in any respect. Nor would they have gladly fought against the wookies at any point. That's why they were said to be tasked with huntng deserters after the war, though i don't believe they're confirmed to have killed any. As for Sev, yes he had been stated to be mentally unwell an have severe degrees of loyalty to his brothers. As for Omega, first off, Etain was a full knight and spec ops general. And second, you can't call that squad and their clan cultish and ignore the travesty that is much of the Mando series. Remember, in all continuity, Death Watch is a cult, and a hated one. Which even the actors of Mando despise.

Okay, I always feel I have to waste my mental energy arguing with how this guy views Canon clones as being no different from Legends clones. Take Commander Fox and the Coruscant Guard. In Legends, they were the Palpatine’s gestapo. In Canon, we’ve yet to see them break up protests violently, arrest peaceful people and other stuff. The two worst things they’ve done so far are arrest the senators who sided with Padme against Palpatine keeping his power after the war. That was under the inhibitor chips. The other thing is the hunt for Jocasta Nu, and unlike Ahsoka and Fives, they weren’t taking the old Jedi in alive. Fox even expresses pride. By then, I would think most if not all the chips had worn off, but we also have to remember the galaxy believed the Jedi betrayed the Republic, so that’s also more grey than outright evil like the stuff clones did in Legends. That being said, I kind of have to give a point to Geetsly this time around. I mean, canon Commandos seem to be the most loyal clones to the Empire. They may have been under the chips when they trained the TK Troopers to replace their brothers, but they’re clearly part of the most evil organization in the Empire in its early years. No issues with working in an organization that stole the technology their creators used to make them and no issue with imprisoning their brothers to be experimented on. And let’s not forget the village they either imprisoned or massacred to keep quiet about the Zillo Beast. The fact the Empire only has these clones as part of their cloning program and no regular clones means they trust them far more than regular clones. Heck, just look at Crosshair for proof. I hate to say this as a fan of clone troopers, but while every other unit at worst is in a moral grey zone, Clone Commandos have crossed the moral line. In a way, it makes sense. Just like in Legends, some clones were modified. Besides the Bad Batch, the only other modified clones are the commandos. They probably were programmed to be more loyal since as special forces, they had some very important and probably morally questionable missions compared to the rest of the army. Ironic really, since it was the commandos who made up the majority of clone deserters from the Empire in Legends, not to mention they were the most independent-thinking. The ARC Troopers sure dodged a blaster shot in Canon as being recruited from the regular clones. Being a normal clone in Legends makes you more likely to blindly obey the Empire while being a normal clone in Canon makes you more likely to not be a fanatic Imperial. Heck, maybe whatever happened to Gregor after his encounter with D-Squad to make him a bit hyperactive like Hardcase saved him, even when his chip was activated. So in a way, Gregor has another reason to thank D-Squad.
And do you know which one makes more sense with the movies? "They're totally obedient, taking any order without question." - Lama Su Legends actually closely follows what movies established and canon almost never does and has in every respect tried to distance themselves from George Lucas' word being "Word of God" as in EU days.

The Transformers IDW comics show evil Autobots and noble Deceptions and one of Star Trek’s most popular shows us DS9 which seems pretty opposite of how Gene Roddenberry imagined humanity in the future. This isn’t to say changes are always for the better, but that you don’t always have to follow closely the original vision. At least at the core of these changes, the original is still there. In Transformers IDW, the Decepticons still do messed up stuff while the Autobots still try to defend organic life. In Star Trek DS9, the Federation is still more noble than other factions. And in Star Wars Canon, clones are very loyal. It’s just a question of who they are loyal to. Besides in Legends, there were clones that weren’t so blindly obedient, even if there were fewer of them. Also, I’m not entirely sure what Lucas wanted from the clones. He has them depicted as blindly obedient, but he not only names Cody, but has him be quite friendly with Obi-Wan. Lucas does say the order was taught to clones as a “last resort”, but that’s technically still applicable in Canon. The Kaminoans certainly didn’t know the truth behind the chips. They were told it was meant to deal with rogue Jedi.

I’d argue after reading the books that omega was the as close to wholesome as the legends clones could be. The training and conditioning is throughly explained. Even killing most Jedi makes perfect sense from an average person’s perspective (no force sensitivity) The LAWFULLY ELECTED LEADER tells you that the people you have long suspected as dangerous have turned. Mind u there were Orders to eliminate the Chancellor as well so Order 66 was not unique. Jedi we’re constantly mistreating clones. Refused to acknowledge they had names, treated them as expendable (they could always buy and grow more), constantly sacrificing them (how many times are entire battalions of clones wiped out with a couple survivors and 1 Jedi?) all without any real emotion. Jedi code and all that even kenobi was seen as a glory hog 🤷🏽♂️
I’m willing that a good of those 501st Troopers who shot up the Jedi Temple were thinking of when a good chunk of the unit got turned into salami by Pong Krell.
I know that Delta squad never really cared for jedi, even rubbing in the salt when Boss finds a lost lightsaber in one of the missions, not giving a single shit to bring it home and disses the weapon itself before moving on with the mission. But I still didn't know that Delta squad played such big role after fall of the republic, I still like the game, wish that cliff hanger wasn't a thing without confirmation of a sequel
I’m taking a break from the Republic Commando books to read Blood Meridian, but what I’ve read (just finished Tripel Zero) I really want to see Omega Squad in some capacity in the new canon. I doubt it, but still. Clan Skirata would be cool as hell
We only ever saw them in battle scenarios that didn't require them to make any ethical decisions. Most times they just disregarded any allies in the game so we never got any sort of read on what their personalities are like outside of "simple" situations.
Wait, you're not even going to say the Bad Batch or Ion Team were good, just least evil. Look I know Crosshair kind of brings their score down a bit given how he is, and I can freely admit that before their series that Wrecker and Tech were probably just neutral and not full-on good, but Hunter and Echo were definitely good. And Ion Team seemed especially good, they fought the war cleanly just like the 212th, the 104th, and Torrent Company, they didn't execute Order 66 and helped save a Jedi(who admittedly didn't live for very long after, unlike the Jedi the Bad Batch saved, because he and a bunch of other Jedi teamed up with the Wookies to try and fight the Empire and got their asses kicked, cough cough, do a video on that Kashyyyk Battle please, cough.), what more does it take to prove a Clone Unit isn't evil and is good?

Omega Squad considering the Jedi order as being corrupt isn't so bad if you think about it, the Jedi's individually weren't all bad people however the Jedi order itself would kidnap children and often times led their troops to do horrible things trying to fulfill what they thought were better in their own minds. The Jedi order is a classic example of "The path to hell is paved by good intentions"

really good video i read the books about omega squad. and i like the colors for ion team sad what happened after the did not killed the jedi. Vadar killed two the other 2 escape but were cap and sent to a prison world on outer rim.

I want see Captain Fordo and his Muunilist 10 take apart the Empire. Personally in my own head, they did exactly that. Fordo literally kept Mundi from a near suicide run against Grievous and held the line at the Jedi Temple. Plus saved Obi-Wan from Durge.
Fordo wouldn't put up with Palpatine's crap. Also having the 10 absolutely wreck Stormtroopers would be hilarious.

Your bias and the influence of sponsorship is showing again. If you really look into it, Delta wasn't an evil squad in any respect. Nor would they have gladly fought against the wookies at any point. That's why they were said to be tasked with huntng deserters after the war, though i don't believe they're confirmed to have killed any. As for Sev, yes he had been stated to be mentally unwell an have severe degrees of loyalty to his brothers.
As for Omega, first off, Etain was a full knight and spec ops general. And second, you can't call that squad and their clan cultish and ignore the travesty that is much of the Mando series. Remember, in all continuity, Death Watch is a cult, and a hated one. Which even the actors of Mando despise.

I recently had a thought. I think Jedi Master Peel would've been a much better fit for the Clone Marines instead of Jedi Master Mundi. Peel's attack first and ask question's later attitude would've fit the marine's nicely. Do you agree?
Okay, I always feel I have to waste my mental energy arguing with how this guy views Canon clones as being no different from Legends clones. Take Commander Fox and the Coruscant Guard. In Legends, they were the Palpatine’s gestapo. In Canon, we’ve yet to see them break up protests violently, arrest peaceful people and other stuff. The two worst things they’ve done so far are arrest the senators who sided with Padme against Palpatine keeping his power after the war. That was under the inhibitor chips. The other thing is the hunt for Jocasta Nu, and unlike Ahsoka and Fives, they weren’t taking the old Jedi in alive. Fox even expresses pride. By then, I would think most if not all the chips had worn off, but we also have to remember the galaxy believed the Jedi betrayed the Republic, so that’s also more grey than outright evil like the stuff clones did in Legends.
That being said, I kind of have to give a point to Geetsly this time around. I mean, canon Commandos seem to be the most loyal clones to the Empire. They may have been under the chips when they trained the TK Troopers to replace their brothers, but they’re clearly part of the most evil organization in the Empire in its early years. No issues with working in an organization that stole the technology their creators used to make them and no issue with imprisoning their brothers to be experimented on. And let’s not forget the village they either imprisoned or massacred to keep quiet about the Zillo Beast. The fact the Empire only has these clones as part of their cloning program and no regular clones means they trust them far more than regular clones. Heck, just look at Crosshair for proof. I hate to say this as a fan of clone troopers, but while every other unit at worst is in a moral grey zone, Clone Commandos have crossed the moral line. In a way, it makes sense. Just like in Legends, some clones were modified. Besides the Bad Batch, the only other modified clones are the commandos. They probably were programmed to be more loyal since as special forces, they had some very important and probably morally questionable missions compared to the rest of the army. Ironic really, since it was the commandos who made up the majority of clone deserters from the Empire in Legends, not to mention they were the most independent-thinking. The ARC Troopers sure dodged a blaster shot in Canon as being recruited from the regular clones. Being a normal clone in Legends makes you more likely to blindly obey the Empire while being a normal clone in Canon makes you more likely to not be a fanatic Imperial. Heck, maybe whatever happened to Gregor after his encounter with D-Squad to make him a bit hyperactive like Hardcase saved him, even when his chip was activated. So in a way, Gregor has another reason to thank D-Squad.

Legends actually closely follows what movies established and canon almost never does and has in every respect tried to distance themselves from George Lucas' word being "Word of God" as in EU days.

The Transformers IDW comics show evil Autobots and noble Deceptions and one of Star Trek’s most popular shows us DS9 which seems pretty opposite of how Gene Roddenberry imagined humanity in the future. This isn’t to say changes are always for the better, but that you don’t always have to follow closely the original vision. At least at the core of these changes, the original is still there. In Transformers IDW, the Decepticons still do messed up stuff while the Autobots still try to defend organic life. In Star Trek DS9, the Federation is still more noble than other factions. And in Star Wars Canon, clones are very loyal. It’s just a question of who they are loyal to. Besides in Legends, there were clones that weren’t so blindly obedient, even if there were fewer of them. Also, I’m not entirely sure what Lucas wanted from the clones. He has them depicted as blindly obedient, but he not only names Cody, but has him be quite friendly with Obi-Wan. Lucas does say the order was taught to clones as a “last resort”, but that’s technically still applicable in Canon. The Kaminoans certainly didn’t know the truth behind the chips. They were told it was meant to deal with rogue Jedi.
Ion team deserves the top spot. I LOVE CF99, but they are not a CC unit. They are genetically defective/modified clones.

I’d argue after reading the books that omega was the as close to wholesome as the legends clones could be. The training and conditioning is throughly explained. Even killing most Jedi makes perfect sense from an average person’s perspective (no force sensitivity)

Jedi we’re constantly mistreating clones. Refused to acknowledge they had names, treated them as expendable (they could always buy and grow more), constantly sacrificing them (how many times are entire battalions of clones wiped out with a couple survivors and 1 Jedi?) all without any real emotion. Jedi code and all that even kenobi was seen as a glory hog 🤷🏽♂️
Also just to add the Jedi’s SLAVE ARMY WERE 10 year old kids who KNEW they were being exploited for a government in which they had no rights.

I know that Delta squad never really cared for jedi, even rubbing in the salt when Boss finds a lost lightsaber in one of the missions, not giving a single shit to bring it home and disses the weapon itself before moving on with the mission. But I still didn't know that Delta squad played such big role after fall of the republic, I still like the game, wish that cliff hanger wasn't a thing without confirmation of a sequel

I try not to pay too much attention to Imperial Commando since Traviss was being a bit stupid.
On the other hand, you ARE knifing babies.
We only ever saw them in battle scenarios that didn't require them to make any ethical decisions. Most times they just disregarded any allies in the game so we never got any sort of read on what their personalities are like outside of "simple" situations.

Look I know Crosshair kind of brings their score down a bit given how he is, and I can freely admit that before their series that Wrecker and Tech were probably just neutral and not full-on good, but Hunter and Echo were definitely good. And Ion Team seemed especially good, they fought the war cleanly just like the 212th, the 104th, and Torrent Company, they didn't execute Order 66 and helped save a Jedi(who admittedly didn't live for very long after, unlike the Jedi the Bad Batch saved, because he and a bunch of other Jedi teamed up with the Wookies to try and fight the Empire and got their asses kicked, cough cough, do a video on that Kashyyyk Battle please, cough.), what more does it take to prove a Clone Unit isn't evil and is good?

Following evil orders makes them inherently evil. They chose to act on them instead of refusing to follow them. It was their ability to think freely and question circumstances that was thought to make them superior to combat droids after all.
I wouldn't have thought Omega squad was evil. I feel as if they have a pretty even checks & balances system amongst each other when it comes to ethics. Delta however, belong on the list haha
