I normally visit the Lansing location and have never been to this one. Looks like WAY more indoor plants. I was super excited watching this. Super excited! 🤩So much so that I have taken tomorrow off and will be going there. It's only an hour and a half west of me. I hope I find something I can bring home. I have fur-babies so no toxic ones. But boy are those Syngoniums tempting! 🥰
I KNEW that store was familiar, I used to live right behind it! I should really get back out to that store, it was amazing living so close to it 😂 I’m still only like 20 minutes away so maybe soon!
I was just chatting with my planty bff who relocated to Michigan from NC and mentioned this video to her, and apparently her uncle is the manager of Horrock’s! Such a small world!
Ashley, you have me screaming at the TV at the variety of plants and the prices. My choices Joepii, Billietae (small one), and some clear pots. Thanks for the video👏👍🪴
Ashley I transferred my African violet out of a violet pot into a self watering pot with the wicking system and they do much better then with this violet pot the bottom part of my pots are clear so you can see how much water is in them the violets drink a lot more water and there leaves are much more perky and upright and I’m getting a lot more flowers 😊
My husband brought me there in G.R. on Saturday, his treat, for a Valentines surprise. Sure wish i old have ran into you, to say Hello and brag to my friends that i have that follow you also, lol. What day were yyou there? Awesomeness. Thank you for your videos. Horrocks is the Best for me. I have just over 300 plants and its hard to find plants i dont have. Thy nvr disappoint. Okay, heard you say Thursday. Darning, lol. I picked up a Gloriosum. Ben staying away from the limbers, but jumped on it. I also bought 2 different color Easter cacti.
Hi Ashley, I don't know about everyone but these prices are outrageous. I live in Texas and prices on pots and plants have skyrocketed, too. I started concentrating on gardening flowers and plants during the pandemic and have spent hundreds of dollars on annuals and perennials. I have succulents too and are just as expensive. I just don't know what I'm going to do this year. I may just fold and dip into my savings and spend, spend, spend! BTW, I'm a senior citizen. Yukkees!! Thank you so much for your videos. I really enjoy them.
Wow, interesting to hear this. I follow 2 planty you-tubers one is Dallas and 1 in the Prosper area and their shopping videos are wonderful and inexpensive mainly big box plant shopping though. Us, in Ohio don't even have plants in the big box stores yet. I feel in March we will see our first arrival of plants to shop for.......hurray!
That Colombia is the one I was telling you about a couple months ago when you were in MI about a month or so ago. It’s GORGEOUS when it gets bigger. Mine sits on top of one of my plant shelves. EVERYONE ooohhhs& ahhhhs when they see her gorgeous foliage. It gets so dark🤩🤩
Omg that’s cool!!!😮 I wish I could order some plants from them… And here in Los Angeles CA nursery out here are ridiculous over price, every time I go plants shopping I spend so much 🤦♀️ And big box store don’t have good rare plants..
I love these planty videos from Horrock's. I feel that is a model of grocery stores of the future myself. I mean why not?? Most markets now already have some flowers and houseplants as it is and many people just snatch those up while they check out all the time. It would make sense to expand their green little friends more and also have tables around so you can eat and admire all the pretty greenery within the area. I was surprised to hear you say neem oil didn't really help you any. I love neem oil and don't use other stuff. I even use it to water my plants at times after cleansing their leaves. I am ready to put in an order for a huge bottle of it. I always have it on hand. I also use it in my shampoo as well.
Hi Ashley, I wish we had this store in Charlotte, NC! So many beautiful plants! I would have picked up that Red Aglaonema for sure. Their plants look healthy and their prices are good. You really can’t ask for more than that!😊. Many thanks for this great plant shopping tour. Such a pleasure for sure! Take care. 👌🪴🥰
What a fabulous selection. Most of those plants are only available online in the UK. It was lovely to see the philodendron orange marmalade as I’ve only seen a picture of it before. Also the speed, amount of time you lingered on each plant (sorry if I’m using the wrong terminology here 😂) was perfect 🤗 and the plant you picked up at the end was a steal. ❤
Omg. Thanks for this video. I recently became aware of Horrock’s. I haven’t visit them yet as it’s a day trip for me. But what a wonderful video of their plant selection. Thanks so much ❤️. Love your channel
Wow, what an amazing selection! I think i would have snatched up the variegated Opuntia, Philodendron Caramel Pluto and Tillandsia Xerographica. Thanks for the great content as always 😊💖🪷
I saw Horrocks name and had to check it was the place I was thinking of. Not only do we shop at the same big box stores in Charlotte, but I've shopped at Horrocks when I lived in Michigan. I'm pretty sure that makes us best friends. 🤣
I never own a Dieffenbachia is a plant just didn’t peak my interest. But that one you held up cool beauty has gorgeous colours and so full and healthy looking. If that was €30 i would swoop it up. Hopefully they come out where i live. Sansevieria i always love those love to own more varieties. Those marble queens variegations look amazing never seen one with so much white. I am on a hunt for that variegated Optunia very good price for that size. That autograph plant looks amazing too. I love succulents aswell so many varieties. I never can keep them alive from overwatering and not even sun. Cannot wait to see Claire playing with her new toy. One of your videos popped up in my feed from 3 years ago where you did an animal friendly plants. Did you move house since? Your sitting room in that video looked dark all black furniture compared to now all modern neutral look a different change. Also you had a nose ring. And in your ripped jeans.
Great video, such a charming place! 🤔 I think I would have went with the Reflector 🔥absolutely love the design on the leaves, hopefully the northeast gets with the program lol The Mexicanum and Sanseveria Lauren were looking awesome! Would have definitely picked up the 69686, love the gnarly leaves, saw one recently for $99 and not as nice as the one you got, they seem to do really well and not a diva like some other plants 😂 oh and Cissus Discolor has always caught my eye, if it was as friendly as pothos I would go for it but I hear they do need that higher humidity.
Hi Ashley Anita I love your channel been watching you for a couple of years now . I love your plant shopping videos especially so I’ll be taking a road trip from New York in may 2024 and I’d like to visit some of your favorite places and I’d like to visit Horrocks and big bloomers can you give me there address also any Lowe’s in the same area would be great. Thank you Ashley Anita in advance you’re the best. Barbara J. New York City 🫶🏽👍🏽😉

Informative, overwhelming, beautiful. Happy this store isn’t near me!!!!!!
I just got home from Northern Indiana, Southern Michigan. This looks like a fun store. I like how they have all of the types together. TFS.
I just went there the other day. They have such a beautiful selection of plants.

Yay I was hoping you found this beautiful place. Also dangerous for plant lovers.
Sol Soils are from a small business in MN. I can't believe they're $1 cheaper there! You'd think they'd be cheaper locally!
Great prices, I have hardly any more room. For plants but I keep buying them. I would have thought about that spiral 🌀 cactus 🌵
Need oil is great for mealy bug and scale not for spider mites, use something with a miteacide in it.
Wow, what an amazing selection! I think i would have snatched up the variegated Opuntia, Philodendron Caramel Pluto and Tillandsia Xerographica. Thanks for the great content as always 😊💖🪷
Love your choices! Wish I would have grabbed the Pluto
@@LifewithAshleyAnita It's OK, you need to show some restraint 😉 But yes, it's on my wishlist 😊
At 33:48 would you explain further your repotting method. I’d like to try that. Thanks.
Arber Is Good I Tried Last Season And It Doesn't Take Much.👍
Thanks!
Love the planter selection ❤

Did you ever find the Tortum you were looking for? I found them online for a great deal.

I’m sure I’m going to run into you at Horrock’s one of these days. It’s my go to “what am I going to do today?” destination
Make sure to say hi!
Hi Ashley! Please tell me the name of your website. I don’t see it linked. 😀Thanks.
Still crazy that a couple years ago pink princesses were hundreds if not thousands of dollars and now they are as little as $10 😂
I would have gotten that aglaonema spathonema. I want that so bad. And I would have probably gotten that dieffenbachia too
Love your choices!
Any local michigan planty bestie that want to be my personal shopper??😂❤ hate being stuck in SC where our options arent as great
