Synergy! So interesting to watch your business unfold, Melissa. You buy from other small businesses and they get exposure, you propagate for your shop so your customers (eventually) benefit, you record planty care and viewers can always refer to your library. Love the cycle you've created!

Hi Melissa, I’ve been watching your videos for a few weeks now. I’ve already learned so much for you. I love watching your unboxing videos. I just wanted to thank you for how much time and effort you put into your videos! 🪴💚
I’m so glad you liked the plants!! When I purchased my Argentea Princess, a couple of people recommended strong lights to avoid reverting and that’s what I did. I placed it right under T8 lights and it grew as Argentea Princess 🥰
Hi Melissa! Thank you so much for showing your support for my shop once again! I’m so happy your Multiflora Variegated arrived nicely! Hope it blooms for you soon! 🌸💕🪴 They were being kept in higher humidity, so I would recommend possibly putting it in your cabinet or something similar 😊
Ok girls I just bought 2 from ObsessedLeaves thanks Melissa for the plant obsessions today. 😂 I had to get the Hoya Sigillatis Silver AH001 and the Hoya Lacunosa Silver Snow. I am so excited!
Love, love your content!!! FYI, with begonia if they are cane begonias propping a leaf won’t allow it to grow a new plant. You’d have to cut some of the stem and root that out. Rex begonia on the other hand can be leaf propped. I’ve been experimenting with begonia lately and they are definitely fun and interesting. Can’t wait to watch your care with yours and see how well you grow them.
oh shoot really? See, I'm not very knowledgable with begonias lol. I'll have to do some research. It's growing some roots so I guess it won't grow in some new leaves then.
hi, Melissa! I love your videos so much. My baby and I sit on the couch and watch them together 🤣🩷 Your voice is really calming to the both of us🫶🏼 you have helped me take care of my plants and my first variegated Alocasia Frydek corm🥹 I was terrified it wouldn’t make it but I watched your videos and put it into fluval with a humidity dome on top and it seems to be thriving!
Soo many beautiful plantsss! I’ve been doing a lot of plant shopping as well. Mostly hoyas and anthurium seedlings. Those anthurium you showed earlier in the video are beautiful. Those will make some amazing crosses.
It's so much fun plant shopping lol I'm definitely running out of room so I need to slow it down 👀I'm excited for the anthuriums they're stunning plants! 😍

I cut it up and propped it. Thank you for sharing Melissa i always look forward to your videos. I stopped watching alot of the plant people but you are one i will always watch
Also Palmstreet has thegreenescape as a seller on there now and you don’t have the minimum of two purchases and can see the plants before purchasing now 💕
Hey Melissa. Your question if the spots on the multiflora is normal is valid. The thinner leaf Hoyas seem to be more prone to them due to under or over watering. Id just watch to be sure it doesn’t spread to new growth so you know it’s not fungal but it looks to be just normal watering issues. ❤
You are so welcome! It’s been a lot of fun getting new Hoyas in my collection. I’m excited to grow them all out more and it’ll be fun to propagate them for the shop too ☺️

Love..love all your new plants. ❤. I'm also into begonia. I got all 4 now & I'm working on another one soon. 😅 I also love hoyas. But I'm into Big Bloom hoyas. I got hoya tabachii. I'm not sure if I got the name wrong but the bloom smell like chocolate that's what they say. The leaf is huge & so is the cup flowers in it. I can't wait for mine to flowers. I got carnosa the queen & princess both. I got another one that make huge blooms & red I'm sure by next year will have flowers in them. ❤😅
I'm with you on the Begonia love. I bought two more as well from the Green Escape, I don't recommend that by the way. However, they are still alive. I also bought a Doc Block x Michelle and its GORGOUS! You should go see my latest SHORT on it the new leaf is as big as my head and just beautiful!
I have a freckles splash and it’s a prolificate grower. Mine was one leaf and now it’s got 6 and two vibes. I did have to move it out of the west facing window. One of the vines just fried up. But the other is hood cots grown three leaves since moving it. Now it’s happy under a grow light.
You have a gorgeous collection there. About your philodendron caramel marble, unfortunately, when you buy plants online you're gambling with your money. I bought a caramel marble from Indonesia when they first came out and they were extremely expensive. When it arrived, It was healthy, beautiful and highly variegated. One of the leaves was a half-moon. It took forever to grow new leaves. When it finally gave me new growths they were completely green. I chopped it up but the leaves are still green. I wish you best of luck with your caramel marble, you're such a good plant parent that your stump may soon begin to grow and thrive.
Hey there! Most of my collection was purchased online and I would say only a handful has been bad. Sometimes there’s crappy sellers that only care to profit. They don’t care about the plants they sell or how shitty they packaged it and have horrible policies. I honestly feel they packaged it that way on purchase and I’m shocked at how argumentative they have been towards me. I’m opening a case on Etsy to get a refund because I’m not letting the seller get away with this and how they have treated me as a customer. Horrible customer service and so rude. Sorry about your caramel marble reverting :(
Hi there and thank you for giving me somethin to excitedly click on this morning ! 😅😁 I'm exciteeeed !!! Thanks for real, thank you for sharing you joy with us !!
I actually had a bad experience with the green escape. They had a sale and then didn't deliver the amount that I ordered. I only ordered that many plants because of the sale. And they refused to send the rest. We did not have good conversations and Etsy gave me an entire refund. It's the only time that I have ever requested one.
I have gotten a bunch of new plants lately too. I have gotten alocasias but they are in stratum this time and they actually didn't go on down and lose their leaves, they are perking up and holding their leaves up. I'm flabbergasted. Am I actually going to raise alocasias? 😅 thanks for all your tips because I have learned so much from you about alocasias
Hi! I love watching your videos. I ordered 10 starters from The Green Escape (after watching one of your other videos) and 9/10 were great! The Alocasia silver dragon melted, I think but I've got it in sphagnum moss to try and save it. 🤞
Okay so everything was GREAT!! Beautiful!! Fabulous!! Wonderful!!❤ but that plant mail fail!!! What the heck!!😮😮 It’s obviously the ventilation! I’ve only seen corms, cuttings or babies completely covered like that! I wouldn’t think that type of philodendron needs to be 100% humidity, especially in 90 degree weather. INSANE!
That was my thought too 😬 All the condensation melted the leaves. It was baking in a sealed plastic cup on the delivery truck. I definitely thought I should have gotten a refund but I was tired of going back and forth with the person. I was not trusting them to resend me a healthy plant. Very poor customer service and I noticed they even changed their shipping policy that states they're not responsible for damage related to heat stress 🥴 Then they tried to make me feel guilty for leaving a poor review. SMH

haha maybe one day! Still trying to convince hubby to work with me but I don't think that will happen. I'm definitely still trying to figure things out and find a good balance 🫶
I went ahead and put them into stratum right away. Most of the time the plugs are bone dry by the time they arrive to me so I usually take care of them right away and they’ve done well 😊
I really wish it would be easier to order rare/variegated alocasias in Europe 😢 For now you can only get a few different ones and even those are released in very limited numbers 🙁 You have a lovely collection❤❤❤ and I love watching your videos☺️☺️
I haven’t decided yet 🤔 I may just let them grow in my aroid mix. I have several anthuriums not in pon and they seem happy so we’ll see! I’m going to let them grow how they are for a bit though.
oh no :( I usually just cut them and let the ends dry a bit so they aren't so sappy and wet and then place them into stratum. I've had pretty good success so far with them rooting. I've had some rot too though!
Appreciate that 🙏🏼 I don’t want to spend any more energy on it. I left a review so hopefully it will help others make a decision about whether to purchase and what to expect if a plant doesn’t arrive ok. I got a partial refund so I’m just going to leave it at that 😊
Hi Melissa....I have been thinking of moving my alocasia regal shield from her 8 inch pot ( soil) to srmi-hydro, but I'm still confused about what size pot should I get if she is in a 8 inch now with soil? Please help..I'm trying to get the hang of pot size when moving from soil to semi-hydro.
It depends on the root ball. A lot of those soil roots are going to shed once in semi hydro. It’ll grow in new water roots though. If it’s a bigger plant I would probably just go ahead and put in a bigger self watering. I put my regal shields in the 7 inch pot with no roots. It’s a bigger plant though so it’s going to grow in quickly. 😊
@@plantsbymelissa I have another question ❓ My alocasia pink dragon has been repotted this year... she's in a chunky soil mix ...her stump( main stem) is what I call it has grown a good ways above the soil line...do I need to repot her deeper into the pot or just allow her to stay as is?
According to his website it derives from a unique Columbian cultivar of Anthurium magnificum and it required four generations of breeding to get this color. He named this one after his wife :)
I didn’t want to spend any more energy on it. We messaged back and forth for a day and it didn’t go that well so I just wanted to be done with the conversation 😅 hopefully my review will help someone else make a decision on purchasing an expensive plant from their shop.
Can't wait! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Your videos calm me down. I know you benefit from your videos but I feel like people like you make the world a better place by posting. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
It’s the rode wireless go II microphone. I recently purchased the lavalier attachment for it so that’s what you see in the video. It’s attached to the receiver by a longer cord. It’s an expensive mic but it’s been great quality. I made a lot of adjustments in my editing software on the sound settings though. That was a lot to try and figure out 🫣
what's with the ship back options I never really understood that. if you're showing the unboxing just refund it lol smh sorry to hear about that but hopefully it grows back 💚💚💚
Thank you! I personally don’t like being asked to ship a plant back so I won’t to do with my shop. I get why sellers do this so they can try and resell it and not lose out on the cost. I don’t think it’s worth losing a customer though 🤷♀️

haha maybe one day! Still trying to convince hubby to work with me but I don't think that will happen. I'm definitely still trying to figure things out and find a good balance 🫶
My favorites would have to be all the hoyas so beautiful love them❤
Hi Melissa!
Do you typically keep the plugs in (like with the Alo Polly Aurea)? Or do you clean off the roots and put them in stratum?
I went ahead and put them into stratum right away. Most of the time the plugs are bone dry by the time they arrive to me so I usually take care of them right away and they’ve done well 😊
@@plantsbymelissa Oooh okay! I have a couple of the same plants coming in from them and I can’t wait! Thank you
I just got a Epiprenmum Tenruo Champs Elysees I love it. It’s the third Teruno I have. 😊
ooh that's pretty! I had to look that one up. I love the color! 😍
I really wish it would be easier to order rare/variegated alocasias in Europe 😢 For now you can only get a few different ones and even those are released in very limited numbers 🙁 You have a lovely collection❤❤❤ and I love watching your videos☺️☺️
Thank you so much! I feel grateful to be able to order from a lot of great shops here. Hoping you have access to more varieties in the future 🥹🫶
That Coracea silver is an expensive plant. I’ve looked up couple times.
It was so kind of her to send the cutting as a gift 🥹
Hi! Will you keep the Anthuriums in soil or move to pon?
I haven’t decided yet 🤔 I may just let them grow in my aroid mix. I have several anthuriums not in pon and they seem happy so we’ll see! I’m going to let them grow how they are for a bit though.
I love Begonias, but they ship pretty rough.
Be prepared! Yukatan Princesses get ginormous! 😮😅❤
🫣😂
@@plantsbymelissa mine is about a year old and about 3 feet tall lol 😅🫣
how do you propagate your hoyas? i keep rotting mine in fluval/pon :(
oh no :( I usually just cut them and let the ends dry a bit so they aren't so sappy and wet and then place them into stratum. I've had pretty good success so far with them rooting. I've had some rot too though!
I love your videos and most assuredly when you do HOYAS! 😊😊😊
hehe thank you!! I have so many now 🙈
@@plantsbymelissa I do not believe in "too many"!! :-)
Sorry about the caramel marble! If you open an official Etsy case you will likely be able to get a refund
Is that the same as a dischidia ovata “watermelon”?
I'm not sure, I know nothing about them!
Melissa do you water the stratum ?
Yes 😁 I usually top it off once the water gets low.
What is this docblock? Is it a cross?
According to his website it derives from a unique Columbian cultivar of Anthurium magnificum and it required four generations of breeding to get this color. He named this one after his wife :)
I got 2 plants this week and I feel bad about it 😅😂
❤❤❤
❤
😊👍
File a claim they should guarantee there plants and take the time to ship properly
I didn’t want to spend any more energy on it. We messaged back and forth for a day and it didn’t go that well so I just wanted to be done with the conversation 😅 hopefully my review will help someone else make a decision on purchasing an expensive plant from their shop.
Can't wait!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Your videos calm me down. I know you benefit from your videos but I feel like people like you make the world a better place by posting.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks for watching! 💜
Hi mellisa do you have a link for the mics 🎤 you use for your videos
❤❤❤❤🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

🤍🤍🤍
You’re so pretty ❤ you kinda look like Dakota Johnson happy😊
She must of sold out as soon as you posted this because everything im interested in is gone
Do you mean Nicole’s shop!? I’m glad!! She deserves more attention with her shop. She has amazing plants 😍
