I grew up watching the Crash Landing series, specifically the let's play that CaptainSparklez made. it was one of the first things that made my passion for minecraft grow so big today. And I can't help but always turn back to Crash Landing and play it myself.
Modpacks back then really were different. Being reminded of Crash Landing and Stone Block really brought me back. (Even if I've actually played forever stranded not crash landing lol). This video makes me wanna hop in on an 1.12.2 modpack no matter how much I've grown tired of the ex Nihilo grind
Apparently Hexxit II is still actively maintained and it's getting a major update soon. The same author also recently made Tekkit SMP, it is a sequel to Tekkit SSP which is Tekkit Classic but with extra mods that were removed because they weren't compatible with multiplayer at the time. It features everything from Tekkit 2 but with a few of the missing mods from SSP also included (Thaumcraft, Mo' Creatures, and Mystcraft most notably), I highly recommend trying it out if you are a fan of the classic Tekkit packs
I wonder what it could be like a couple of years from now as modpacks and the mods themselves change over time, with Minecraft itself changing it seems that what’s viewed as something that would fit in a mod for Minecraft would also change, but then again there are many mods that don’t follow Minecraft’s style
I still play tech mods too this day and have a deep respect for them because I legitimately think they helped me develop my love and (to an admittedly lesser extent) understand how the science to these machines work. I played Tekkit 3 back in elementary school and now I'm getting a degree in Environmental Science. My goal in life is to work on/near Nuclear Reactors to guarantee the environmental safety and I can't thank anyone more than the people who made tech mods for Minecraft. Side note, industrialcraft, fix your shit and make a new mod already that's actually compatible with the new energy systems. Like I understand why you still use your original power system but when you are added to modpacks to this day because you are the gold standard you can use Forge or Tesla power.
isnt stoneblock still consistently popular on curseforge? i seen it pop up on alot of modpack lists constantly. i doubt noones installing it and playing it
