- Take time to relax and watch my Bob Ross painting tutorial for beginners. I visited a local beach and got inspired to do a simple painting. Follow this easy and fun Bob Ross Tutorial as a guide to painting a simple scene yourself - ideal for beginners or if you're suffering from creative burnout.
We all find it difficult to get started with a painting now and then. But, if you're feeling overwhelmed it could be something else. Finding yourself physically, emotionally and mentally drained can be a challenge. Especially for creatives - artists, writers etc. This is called creative burnout.
My solution is always - to paint something simple! Take the pressure off yourself to paint a masterpiece every time and just relax and have some fun. My easy Bob Ross tutorial shows how I use a relaxing field trip to unwind and paint a simple scene.
At the end of Bob's TV show, he would sometimes say 'Let's get crazy' and my painting certainly got the wow factor when I started to experiment right at the end. Happy Painting People

Hope you don't mind a question / request .... any inspirational ideas on what is best for a landscape scene on a 30×100 cm canvas ! To be vertical , long ways ! am being a little ambitious perhaps!
Well, I'm a sucker for a seascape (can your tell!) So, a scene with a wide open horizon line and a colourful sky is my favourite. For some ideas watch this weeks tutorial - Paul 😃😃😎😎@@julesvis
Something for me to look forwards to ! Cheers

Stunning!!!
Thank you Heather. Still a work in progress but its coming on 😊
Stunning. The twist at the end really was well worth it. And the "pickle alert" induced an ear to ear smile and chuckle 😅
My silly humour as always. I copied it off a jar of SunPat peanut butter 😀😎
Fantastic!
Many thanks! It was a fun painting. I'm sure I'll do some more soon. 😃😎
Wow. That is awesome ❤
Thank you! Cheers Irene. Hope it inspires you to paint your own seascape 😍😎
What a wonderful painting for a Sunday afternoon. Your work and videos are both a treat and an inspiration. This seascape reminds me of the days I lived in Italy. I find myself spending a lot of time on your channel. Every week I feel like a kid again waiting for that next episode like a spoiled child.
Thank you so much 😀 Yes waiting for the favourite program was a treat as a kid. Stay forever young - I'm still a big kid 😎
Its so amazing sharing 😊
Thank you so much 😀- sharing is caring so thank you for sharing also 😍
Hi Paul, as always, and a Craig Revel-Horwood would say..........A........mazing!
😂🤣😃 Thank you Peter. I'm lost for words ... 😎
Awesome job!!!!!!🔴🫢🤫
Thaks for watching. More tutorials to come ! 😃😎
Great
Thank you. Looks like your watching everything 😃😍😎
Absolutely fantastic with a cherry on top!
I loved the sunlight glow at the end.
A real blinder! 🥰 xx
Oh thank you Pippa. I copied it off a jsr of peanut butter! Then I ate the evidence! 😍😎🥰
This was fantastic, look forward to trying a version of it.
Brilliant! Please give it a try and make some changes too. Most of all just have fun! 😎
I haven't even watched it fully yet but I know I love the result ... #yeaaaaah
So pleased its a video your enjoying even before you finish watching. Have a great day 😃
Thanks, It is Very nice.
Glad you like it! Hope to see you for more tutorials 😃😎
Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
This is a wonderful painting Paul! Thank you as well for showing your palette as you go, I am colour blind and seeing the amounts of paint you mix is so valuable as I can find mixing colours difficult to achieve a particular colour. I have the next few days off work so will be giving this one a go!
Glad you enjoyed it - brillinat too for you to have a go at. I actually mix far less paint these days and make one colour do several parts of a painting. Its easier to get the colours to work together if their from the same base mix. Have fun 😋😎
Love this...love that you show us how to fix mistakes...make sunbeams... all of it...thank you for another excellent tutorial 😊
Thanks so much Lolly - I think a 'warts 'n' all' tutorial is better than painting perfect stuff all the time. Of course I could but .. where the fun in that ( please read this with a smile ) I rarely ever paint it right first time 🥰😎
Just the type of painting I was wanting to do next! It’s hard to find many wet on wet tutorials for seascapes that aren’t just the single crashing wave in the foreground. Can’t wait to give it a try! Here in Florida I’m surrounded by great seascape inspiration, so thank you for the tips / examples to learn from
Hi Gregory - so pleased to hear my rockpool seascape hits the spot for you. Have fun painting your own lovely Florida seascape 😎
Thanks!
Hey there Robin - Many thanks for the donation - Happy Holidays to you and the family 😃
That was a great tutorial, Paul. Thank you! 🙏
My pleasure! HOpe to see you for some more fun soon. 😎
Hello, Paul!
Wonderful job! I really enjoyed the tutorial and overall painting.
Great figure eight tip. Your practice paper looks like you had a fleet. 😉
I also loved the highlight you added to the tip of the clouds; it really set the sky off beautifully.
Big hugs from our gang to yours. 💖🤝🏼🥰
Hey Robyn - I was getting a bit behind with lots of stuff so grabbed an afternoon off and of course started thinking about painting.
So much for having a break! 😂 Well I mde this one just for fun and the ending was truly only an after thought. Once I knew the main tutorial was fimed I wasn't worried about breaking it! A lovely way to de -stress even if the accounts are still not done! Hope things are going well for you and the gang too - Paul and the tribe! 🥰🥰😎
Paul, I really enjoy your videos! Could you do a video of light penetrating the ocean water. I have a lovely turtle and coral scene, but after a couple of years, I want to add the sun rays and the sun reflecting off the moving waves. Joy!!
Great suggestion Susan! Great minds think alike. Stay tuned ..... 😍😎😉
May I send a photo of my sea life painting for critique? @@PaulRansonArt
I absolutely love watching your tutorials and look forward to every Sunday. You always make me smile, and sometimes laugh, and always teach me something new. You’re just a joy to watch!😊 I’m finishing last week’s painting today and will start this one tomorrow. It’s lovely😍 Quick question… at the 30 second mark, what’s going on with the 3rd building in from the left? It looks like it’s about to fall face first onto the ground😜
Hi Amy - I had a look at this and yes at first glance it looks weird. But look again and its actually a small lean to with a pitch roof
and a skylight window! Pleased my video had you smiling. Enjoy your painting - best wishes Paul 😍😎
Hi Paul! The scenery inspiring your painting is beautiful! It looks like a peaceful place you and Terri enjoyed seeing. I have been painting a few versions of a seascape in a lavender color scheme and needed to see what could really make extra special sparkle effects. The sky in the end really was a wow moment here- and I love the freedom and simplicity of play here too. Letting a painting be a relaxing and playful experience is something that is so rewarding! The background is so neat- using the off white warm hue is something I really want to try. I especially appreciate your talent in color choices and combinations-so helpful for us! Thank you so much for the tutorials you do. One question- I’m considering getting a Bob Ross floral fan brush.. because my original one is “scratchy” and suddenly I struggle with making clouds.🤔 maybe the softer version would improve my clouds? I’m also noticing the more I super-try to make clouds the more they end up frustrating me. (I like that word- “super-try”.. I think it works!)😂
Have a great week!!
✨🖌️🎨😊✨
Hi Stephanie - thank you for the lovely comments. Sometimes producing a painting can be stressful and having some playtime is essential. As I mentioned we can put ourselves under pressure to produce a winner everytime. So we must give ourselves permission to paint a dud and to laugh it off. Good spot with the titanium white. I really use it straight from the tube unless its for the very last sparkles. Now, fan brushes. The BR floral fan is super soft and clogs almost instantly when used with heavy weight oil paint. Is actually used as a soft blender for the very soft floral paints. Its not much use for anything else. There are some synthetic fan brushes too. But The one's I've tested are way to light to carry enogh oil paint for a cloud. I would suggest having a look at some oil/acrylic fans. These tend to be a little softer than hog bristle. One other thought is to deep clean your fans with a little Old Masters soap. It tends to make the bristles softer. Especilly iy they've been used a lot. Hope all this helps - Best wishes Paul
@@PaulRansonArt thank you! Yes this is a great help!😃
I admire your talent but wondering how whispering throughout enhances your work?
Thanks for watching Joeseph. I'm quietly spoken by nature. I sometimes forget to speak when recording and concentrating on my painting. Many others find my tone soothing. I just paint and record the best I can. Happy painting - Paul 😎
How did you stop the yellow you added to the blue sky from becoming green ?
Hi Liam -thanks for stopping by and asking a great question. The dreaded green sky is a challenge and my sky has a tiny hint of it in real life. I use a very (very) dry blending of the blue so its is almost impossible to see as it reaches the area I want to become yellow. I then use the same almost dry approch with the yellow on a clean brush. The idea is that the two just shake hands but don't blend and make a strong green. If I see a hint I stop and dry clean my brush and play somewhere else. It take a little practice but looks great. TopTip: a well placed cloud covers a multitude of green skies! 😃😉😎
@@PaulRansonArt thanks for your reply, great channel btw
he dosent have bob ross easel
Hi Richard - I just don't have enough room in my studio for either of my Bob Ross Easels. Maybe I need a bigger studio! 😃😍😎
Hi, another great video. And another brilliant idea. Simple, yet interesting. The light of the sun, the colors of the sky, light waves and a wonderful ship. All elements are beautiful and special. My father's picture improved my week. But I have a question when you said I can send a picture to the insta page, did you mean instagram. Since the other pages are not really accessible to me. Another one of these oil paintings is wonderful, and the video is relaxing as usual. Thanks for the effort and interesting videos, good luck with the next project. Until then, happy and pleasant painting and a peaceful week🤍👍🏻😄
Yes Angel - Instagram is the only page I have where you can post a photo. I keep on thinlking about setting up a Facebbok Group but I have so much on my plate I don't think I could take on another project. I have another painting in mind and someone else also suggested it so lets see if I can do it! Its an experiment 🤔🥰😎
Gorgeous Paul and what a lovely place to spend a day love the video very calming ,and such a change to paint a peaceful seascape without that Crashing curly top wave lol they always remind me of a cow licking its chops 😅looking forward to your next tutorial. 🐈🐈⬛🐶
Hi Sylvia - my mind has now been indelibly printed with the image of a cow licking its chops when ever I paint a seascape 😂😂But, with therapy I may still recover - oh you are funny 🥰🥰🥰🥰 Now, how about a clue for this weeks painting? Sorry, its to do with the sea and all I can see is that cow again ..... 🥰🥰😎😎
@@PaulRansonArt oh no mooooooo lol 😆 🐄
