OVEREMPLOYMENT |How to Get 2 Full-Time Jobs (And Paychecks) Simultaneously | Multiple Full Time Jobs

  • What if it only took you two hours every day to do your job? What if you could work multiple full time jobs -- and take home multiple full time paychecks?
What if you could earn up to $30k a month by working several jobs at the same time?
That's what overemployment is: doing more than one "full time" job. When you're overemployed, you are doing several jobs at the same time (secretly) and taking home multiple paychecks and benefits.
Tons of people do this. More and more people are working multiple full time jobs. In today's American work landscape, it's more and more appealing to have the job security, additional income, and the ideological fulfillment that comes from owning your own time and growing your talents.
Just look at the overemployment subreddit. Just look at the slew of articles that have come out recently talking about people working multiple full time jobs. It's popular for a good reason: it's beneficial financially. And in some cases, it's actually necessary in order to save for a house, send kids to college, or even just pay the bills.
This video is all about overemployment.

Being overemployed nowadays is essential to cope up with bills and having a savings as well. Government and employers should be open on topics like this. At the end, we all just want to have a quality and fulfilling life here on earth rather than living paycheck to paycheck
But with this inflations, overemployment seems only the key nowadays.

I agree with your spicy take 100%. The cost of living is so disproportionately high compared to the average salary that many of us have no choice but to seek "over-employment" in one form or another. Personally, I'm more a proponent of starting your own business on the side instead of working for another employer - that way, there's no limit on your earning potential, and you can schedule it around your 9-5 in a way that doesn't sacrifice your quality of work with either endeavor. Not that I'm speaking from experience or anything. 👀

I just quit my last second FT job. It paid twice my first FT job but the stress was just too much. No, not the job stress, although I did not like the job, but we just moved into a new build house and my wife drove me nuts about what furniture matches, and etc. I don't care. I have a dedicated bedroom for an office and my own clothes closet. I'm satisfied. I get up at 3 AM and do all my programming while others sleep.
Anyway, I am 74 and that last job was #107 in my career.
I learned the hard way when we first married in our early twenties: *Go for the money.* When she would say, _you don't have to work so much, we have plenty of money_ listening to her would be followed every time by a financial catastrophe. I soon wised up.

Killing it. My dad is 71, still works 60+ hrs/week driving truck hauling 10,000 gallons of fuel in all weather. I dont want that to be me. No woman to destroy my finances so i hope to retire soon in my 50s, at least retire from being a w2 wage slave. It will require being very frugal.

I didn't know the name but I was writing remote for a small org. and GUESS WHAT I did my work finished early for weeks. Then I accidentally let them know I was always finished early and they FLIPPED OUT...like well we'd have given you more work! OR WE'D HAVE CUT YOUR SALARY. So I was literally fired and punished for being EFFICIENT. Lesson learned.

At age 62 I FiNALLY learned to have boundaries and perspective with employers. Don’t love a company. It will never love you back. The more you give the more they demand. The more you accomplish the more they pile on. They pay, promote, and train unfairly based in biases. In my current job they keep me wildly overworked. I’m applying for remote jobs. If I get two, I’ll try to do them in tandem.

    Hi Zulie,
Very good video on a topic that I was not aware of. I didn’t know until your video that many people are over-employed and working different jobs simultaneously. But I agree that with the availability of remote work, the opportunity to hold down more jobs is becoming easier - if you can deal with the stress and guilt.
I agree that no one should have to hold down more than one job - but as the old saying goes, “you have to live in the world as you find it.” Like it or not, many employers are taking advantage of their employees. In fact, I know of one company with a firm rule that you can’t work anywhere else - even getting a part-time job in the evenings or weekends - if you work for that specific company.
    That sucks!
COVID-19 has taught a lot of employees that companies don’t care about them. Which is why we are seeking the “Great Resignation” movement.
Keep up the good work, Don

    I have so many jobs:
    1. Ghostwriter
    2. Blogger
    3. Author/Novelist
    4. Delivery Driver
Honestly, I think two factors are important to consider when it comes to overemployment: How much will you be earning for your time at each job and do you enjoy executing the tasks for the most part? Being a delivery driver is relatively enjoyable for me but it's not a burning passion like writing. That said, I get paid so well for the time I do work-generally speaking-that it makes it worth it.

Working multiple jobs has made a pathological liar😂
You can’t succeed with multiple jobs if can’t lie.
I actually have a documentation of lies that prepare for different situations.😂
In my experience, the worse nightmare of multiple jobs is when the meetings clash between the jobs.

I guess that is very personal. But I feel like I also want to value my rest time and tranquility. On a good day he had an hour and half drive one way for a mediocre to low paying job. No family, rented an apartment. He could have got an apartment for same price within walking distance of the job. When that job laid me off i moved 1k miles from a communist shithole urban jungle left coast distopia where 75% of my income went to housing. To rural America where my house is paid for and it takes 9 minutes to get to work and heavy traffic is being stuck behind a tractor for 2 minutes.
Theres lots of cheap houses for sale if you are willing to escape these failing urban centers and unsustainable suburbia

So help me understand this math. Let's say you have three jobs that are 8-hour jobs 40 hours a week. Let's say actual working time required to accomplish this tasks are six and a half hours each. That's 19 and 1/2 hours of work needed per day.. How do you accomplish that in 8 hours?

    • @redrustyhill2
      @redrustyhill2 20 днів тому

The question nobody answers. This situation is only possible for those who work looser jobs where it only takes 2 or 3 hours to complete the actual work but get paid for 8. They usually work all multiple "jobs" from one office, usually at home.

I’m ok as long as you let each employer know that you are not working exclusively for them, and that you will be putting in less than 40 hours each week (maybe significantly less). That’s the ethical quandary, “pretending” to do work or hours that you’re not. I’ve seen situations where team members will put in extra hours to take up slack for people that are just barely “productive enough”, due to home issues. It would be sad to find out that they are putting in extra hours to take up slack for someone who is over employed.

I’m not understanding how people make this work. Are these only salaried employees? What fields are these in mostly? What if you’re a parent, or a single parent? I worked remotely with customers/patients in healthcare and they literally had us by the cojones. We were fully monitored, timed, mandated meetings and written up you miss them, there was no grace period for lateness or absence. If you were a minute late you would receive a write up after 3 separate minutes/incidents! We were even monitored after hours through our computer, camera and microphone. You weren’t allowed to use your own equipment, even if it was more comfortable for your own health, you weren’t allowed to use your office space for any other purposes or jobs. We weren’t allowed to have our families home while working at all, we had to show proof of childcare to our supervisors. This should be extremely illegal!

This was an interesting video -- I am glad that you made it.
A few more potential 'cons' to job stacking...Huge Tax Bill at the end of the year...paying Uncle Sam with that 2nd, 3rd job, etc.
About the cheating your employer aspect...if you don't have enough work at your job, then it should be a part time job, right? The cheating aspect is that you're taking money from a business for time you didn't spend on their work...not cool ...what if your employer promised you $100k for your work, but then cut it to 50k and then hired a second person, to whom he gave your 'extra' $50k ...same deal...

Skilled work too. Mechanic, welder, truck driver, equipment operator. My main job isnt paying any more than i was making 15 years ago. I am comfortable though because i moved to a rural area far away from any urban center and not seeing 75% of my income going towards housing while spending 2 hours a day commuting
