    I respect a builder whos man enough to go on camera, on a public media platform and tell someone to stop sending emails and speak face to face. That tells you that he's upfront and is not afraid to let customers know it.

    Did the front of my garden room in Anthracite Click Cedral cladding which is a cement based product, looks fantastic but not cheap. To reduce cost I did the side and back in Anthracite soffit and it blends in great. Cedar looks lovely to begin with, but even with the UV stabilizer it need regular maintenance. The man made products are getting better and better.. Another lovely looking garden room.

    The composite cladding has intrigued me. I had my current outhouse built by a cowboy builder on top of my wooden decking 6 years ago. Unsurprisingly it's becoming unsafe so I will need to take it down at some point this year. Don't know if you're aware but the dust from cutting the cement based boards is full of silica which is a carcinogen, make sure you mask up! If you use the thinner standard boards you can cut it with a guillotine and no dust, not sure about these t+g boards though, looks good though 👍

    I do like that living wall recess feature, is this formed with two false columns built off the end of the office or is it a full recess incorporated into the structure? I'm thinking of the detailing of pattressing behind the hardiboard for plant pots/wires .etc in the recess and how it is achieved without the risk of putting holes in the house wrap? Is there a pattress layer behind the hardiboard in front of the OSB and wrap?

    • @albaPhenom
      @albaPhenom 3 роки тому +1

      You would just fix a vertical batten to the wall and shim it out plumb, say at 600 centres... or you could use what's known as a helping hand bracket and T/L rail system which allows movement for you to straighten out the vertical supports. Expect to pay more for that than you would timber but it's what we as a cladding contractor would use on the majority of our projects.
