Bandai is lazy. Why their anime games been meh past few years they don’t want to actually try. I know that soon to be DBZ tenkaichi game they showed better live up to its name
With how unique the fights are getting, they really need to create a game mode, as a final update, where you can play as everyone since they are built on a similar base to the playable characters. (Maybe for the Tournament of Power dlc's post game content.)
Considering there are leaks of a 3rd season pass with Super Content, and the Tournament of Power prohibited flying, I'm betting this and the leaked 3rd episode of this pass (Being end of Z with uub) are test runs for Ground battles in the Tournament of Power.
Thats what i have been saying all along. The resurection f dlc brought horde modes so we could have scenes like when bardock was fighting freizas army. And now we got ground battles for the top next time.
@@HentisLol yeah haven’t bought any of them separately because I want to get it cheaper through the pass. But with it being $40 that’s still too much. I got the first season pass much cheaper when it went on sale.
@HentisLol you can explain it all you want, doesn't change the fact that $40 is too much for dlc lol they should've just saved the ideas for a sequel or something
love the DLC, but I do agree about Nimbus in the main game, Tenshinhan should've been playable post game, Goku's moves should've carried over. Also it's kinda of a shame that we didn't get to play as Ma-Junior Piccolo, I love his early design, wish he got a post game story to see what he was up to after the fight or something. Overall still liked the DLC a lot.
I mean u did have to play as the hero in the game , well since this dlc is like from the original anime lm pretty sure that wouldn't happen but they might somehow make it original
I love this dlc the new combat it’s great but if only, if only they added 2 players local mode this is the one dlc that would fit the best. One can dream
Here's my thoughts on the DLC Honestly it's probably the best Kakarot has played in my opinion, i didn't have anything wrong with the aerial combat but after this I really want more of the grounded stuff. Something i felt wasn't mentioned that i thought was kinda an issue was how overpowered surging mode felt, i suppose they were compensating for no new forms by making his base strings have a dynamic finisher, but honestly it felt a bit overturned to me. Another thing was how powerful giant piccolo felt, which i guess is a good thing that helps to show how powerful he really was at the time, but honestly it just felt kind of annoying due to how he couldn't be staggered and would just brush off your combos and hit you anyway, like attacking a boss with infinite surge. Also I'm not the biggest fan of how over reliant the post game is on hoarde battles, and as you said they're quite difficult, even if you're at the recommended level. All that said though i don't hate this DLC at all, i love it and think it's arguably the best DLC yet, at least from a gameplay perspective.
I also realize I focused a lot on my negative thoughts of the DLC but that's most because I didn't really want to repeat anything that was said in the video and most of my positives were already covered
I want something at least like unlimited world red coliseum mode, even tho the characters move sets were barley playable, they still let you play as the,
We need a dragon ball game that tells THE WHOLE STORY I've been waiting for that for years but every game we get it starts at the beginning of z I understand that's what we got here I would like a game where you start as Goku from the beginning and you're able to participate in all of his fights from OG 2 super
I don't know if it's a good Idea, there isn't much fights in OG dragon ball, and the majority of Goku's fights are just one shots until general blue and Tao Paï Paï. We would just be watching cutscenes for a long time. How are you gonna adapt the Pilaf arc since there are no fights in It ?
6:53 in the beginning of the main dbz kakarot game goku mentions to gohan that Bulma made him a tail so he could fish like he used to when he was a kid
Goku: "I don't know about this newlywed business, what are we supposed TO DO?" Chichi: *Winks* ... "Let me show you". Hoo boy, I'd pay for a "DBZ Kakarot : Newlywed" DLC.
Finished it yesterday had a blast going through one of my favorite arcs I did experience some hitching and stuttering but that was after the story mode thankfully
the ground combat is very refreshing and im having fun just reliving my childhood even though kid goku doesnt sound at all like kid goku and more like gohan, this DLC is great.
I feel this dlc was going to be its own game before it got roped into kakarot. I like the look of the dragon ball models over the z. Even future trunks dlc they looked odd to me.
I did main game and all dlc up to young vegeta which I'm on and this one which I'll be starting tomorrow thanks for review. Thanks for not spoiling this Also trunks so far is my favorite. Masterpiece. I buy season pass because I'm a dragon ball z junkie. Tbh I want a 62 episode GT DLC for christmas.. 291 eps in dbz I think so the gt game would be about a fifth. Can’t wait for the boss fights in this one! Really hoping we get Z-Broly DLC soon, even if Vic no longer plays the role. Also, I know it’s a long shot, but GT? 👀
That isn't in sight. According to a credible leaker who leaked news of the previous 2 DLC's in this game, the next DLC season pass is Dragon Ball Super and Dragon Ball GT content.
Now they seriously need to make a Dragon Ball: Kakarot game based on that OG dragon ball with mechanics very similar to this DLC. I feel like this RPG gameplay would work so much more with that story
My only gripe is that there were REALLY few places you could earn EXP so I had to finish the DLC with my base moves. I would've loved if I had the chance to max out my Goku's techniques before the last battle but I don't have the first two DLC so I don't have any sacred water.
I want the story to feel as accurate as possible because it's already the most accurate story among Dragon Ball games. And that's also why Trunks DLC is my favorite DLC because Bardock added too many fillers in the middle of the story which resulted in the story feeling abit different, while Tournament cut a few like you said. Lol XD I want this game to feel like the best game to start playing for people who haven't watched DB yet, so that's a shame. Lol XD
my only gripe is that we didn’t get to fight Chichi they literally blue balled the fight twice in the cutscene making me think we were gonna fight but didn’t but other than that I really enjoyed this dlc :)
The health thing can be explained away given how it functions that's a good chance that was designed by Bulma so maybe as soon as the main story is over Bulma stops Goku and gives him the big tail.
Honestly just wish they added a couple crazy content after the story. Like ground combat against greater foes with greater moves. Ground combat against Freiza or other threats. Cell maybe? I just wish these recent dlcs would carry some content into the main story or just extra weird/fun content Edit: after watching the video I agree completly. Also it is very funny I encountered the exact 2 glitches you mentioned
At this point now that they've done most of the mechanics for this DLC, I just want a full on Dragon Ball game adventuring the world and original story with Kid Goku. Sure they could make a DLC covering those arcs but I don't want parts to be skipped with pictures like with Krillin and Piccolo fight. No rushing of any kind. I'd rather just have a brand new game covering all of that. Including the 23rd Budokai.

I hope if they do keep up with one character per dlc to play as (or 1 and a half for this new one) they choose to give them depth for the tree and skills or let us use them in the base game. Androids, Krillin, Yamcha, full on Tien and Future Gohan, Bardock's squad, Goten, Trunks, Yajirobe, etc. The gaps between dlcs would be better with these smaller character packs. I'm very excited for more Kakarot with how high quality it is!
You didn't mention the music! The music is super cool! The two Taos happened to me as well. I think it's consistent. I also had NPCs not loading in. IMO Bandai Namco does DLCs and expansions right. Strong complete base game, and full chapter DLC that's expands the original, brings something new, and is worth the cost.
I really wish they would cover all of the OG Dragon Ball story in this... the RPG and adventure type of gameplay fits a lot more with DB's adventure narrative than DBZ's fighting focus.
if they ever decide to add the tournament of power.... This game will be the best Dragon Ball experience ever imo. Eaither way, im happy with what its become!
This is the best dlc after getting used to the new ground fighting Mechanic I felt like a badass True martial artist the devs did a good job and they Adapted the final dragon ball arc perfectly we need dragon ball game from the beginning where Goku meets bulma
Ngl i had a blast playing this. The cutscenes were really amazing. This was basically DB Kakarot: Ultimate Ninja Storm edition, and im okay with it 👌 My only gripes were that Krillin Vs Piccolo and Yamcha Vs Hero didn't at least get a cool cutscene or anything.
I've always been of the opinion that if they were going to make a semi-open rpg-like game named after Goku where you explore the world in dragonball and do minor quests for old characters and such then from the get-go it should have been based on original Dragonball and not just another of the one million Z games that already exist. Didn't know about this DLC until this video popped up and hadn't planned on playing Kakarot again but might give this a go.
So you are speedrunning and breaking this one... Right? It's the OG Dragon Ball DLC, part of some of the best DB story arcs, you can't not speedrun this one... Right?
I’m so glad to hear it. Certainly getting a second season pass for this game was a big surprise for me. I haven’t even played the Bardock DLC might be time.😅
It's wild how much the original dragon ball gets disrespected in hindsight, video game wise. It was regulated to handheld yet we barely ever got a full story from dragon ball to Z or GT/Super in past games. It's like developers have always treated the FIRST part of the dragon ball series as bonus content... I just hope this kind of dlc changes things down the line.
They need to have the dlc morph with the base game after purchase you should realistically have all the dlc in one grinding separately is dumb just add an extra 300 lvls per dlc. They should have the dlc start in order of story off what you own
Did you ever get the food glitch where it doesn't give you any exp after using a meal ticket? I was terribly confused when I saw that it said it would give me +3000 exp only for my character, who only needed around 1500 to level up, not do get any of that supposed +3000 exp. Making meal tickets almost entirely useless aside from the timed buffs.😢
Idk, this DLC was cool how they changed the combat style but it was entirely too short and it felt kinda weird going back to play as a watered down Goku. The Trunks and Bardock DLC were both much better IMO. If I had to rank this DLC, it'd only be ranked higher than the first one.
That kid Goku voice is sinful though. They should of got the og VA. Gohan's a different character so him having the voice from Kai is fine. But Goku is a whole different beast.
Not gonna lie i think they should do some movies dlc like broly from z and then another when its the 4 fights from broly two and the 2 cooler movies with it.
It's toughest mode actually. Normally i played in hard mode i just lose maybe 1/30 health. But in this dlc i almost dead fighting tao pai pai/ mercenery tao in tien flashback and also when fight thug group. Man they just so difficult to fight
Yall ever thik this dlc just preps for the Tournament of Power? Since you can't fly in that. Also with the whole ring out mechanic too, since that's one way to get eleminated
Man can they not integrate this into the main story😭 I have so much fun on here especially with patrols and tough training but here’s to hoping the next dlc can fix this

That kid Goku voice is sinful though. They should of got the og VA. Gohan's a different character so him having the voice from Kai is fine. But Goku is a whole different beast.
This is why I just play in the og sub version 😂
Can you play the Dragonball DLC before starting anything else in the game if you did a new playthrough?
It's nice that they speed up the nimbus
there was no reason to use it before but it looks cool
damn but it's weird nothing carries over
Not gonna lie i think they should do some movies dlc like broly from z and then another when its the 4 fights from broly two and the 2 cooler movies with it.
Man if they just made an update where you can take off all the minion/robot fights I'd be so happy.
I know you can dash away but i still hate it
I’ve been confused with the restaurant. It tells me I get 3000 experience but it doesn’t show up in my stats. Have I been missing this the whole time?
I can’t believe people like to do less. I don’t even want to play back that far without flight. 😂 the jump does help you get away pretty good though.
I was low-key hoping for an actual tournament mode
Ive never played this game is it worth buying in 2024 with all the dlc.
It's toughest mode actually. Normally i played in hard mode i just lose maybe 1/30 health. But in this dlc i almost dead fighting tao pai pai/ mercenery tao in tien flashback and also when fight thug group. Man they just so difficult to fight
Okay, this is the biggest bummer to me. I was really hoping we would be able to play as characters like Tien and Yamcha in the main game, but no....
Yall ever thik this dlc just preps for the Tournament of Power? Since you can't fly in that. Also with the whole ring out mechanic too, since that's one way to get eleminated
Man can they not integrate this into the main story😭 I have so much fun on here especially with patrols and tough training but here’s to hoping the next dlc can fix this
Already finished it. It was pretty fun, tho the start was a bit slow
Piccolo vs krillin was one of the best fights. How could they not add it but add tien vs tao😢
They need to do a TOP DLC now. No flying there either everyone has OP powers. Would be elite
I just got the game should I buy all the DLC first or play the game first then buy them later at the end
It's a game based off of a show what ended in the 80s everybody knows the whole story it's been told a million times what can you spoil
