I'll tell you that I am so glad I bought my X-T3. I got it just after Fuji lowered the price to$999.00 that one year. I got mine in January of 2021, barely used with the warranty still. good. It had the 18-55, extra batteries(2 extra OEM and 2 third party), the Fuji grip extender(non battery), and everything still in the box and wrappers. I did a lot of research and shopping before buying. It came down to performance for the money for me. Also, I wanted a camera to take hiking. The X-T3 is a rugged machine that I just love.

Um, if you're big into film recipes (sort of the whole point of using Fujifilm cameras) the X-T3 has the big disadvantage of _not_ having white balance shift memory for all your custom C presets. It's a major pain having to set each white balance shift if you have the same white balance e.g. Auto for different presets.
That was fixed for cameras that started coming out just after like the X-Pro3, X-T4, X100V, etc.

@@Mamo878 Im a stills photographer only. X-T3 was my first Fuji. I like my X-T5 more by a light year. It’s not even close. There’s the WB issue , added IBIS, a better battery, and a much better grip. I actually don’t care too much about the 40 megapixels although it has allowed me to get creative with cropping and composition at times. If I ever planned on making even a single second of video content in my life (which I don’t) I’d consider the X-T3. I remember helping a friend shop for a good entry level cinema camera in 2019 and the XT3 ended up on my top 3 list with the BMPCC 4K and the Nikon Z6. I ended up telling him to go with XT3 since he wanted to stay around $1500 and always preferred run-n-gun fast-easy filmmaking, but he picked the BMPCC (and almost never uses it lol). The Fuji always stuck with me as one of the best hybrids at its price point, and a few years later I ended up buying the XH2s, which I am absolutely in love with (though I miss the chrome and dials 😭).
The only other Fujis I've tried are the XH1 and the XT4. I LOVED the feel of using the XT4. I miss it soooooo much. But the filmmaking specs on the XH2s are unbeatable at its price point. What cinematographer/photographer in their right mind wouldn't chose 6.2K 10-bit 422 log at 720Mbps plus Prores 422 HQ internally with 14 usable stops of DR for $2.5K? ❤

Thanks a lot for your view. After having used Fuji gear for more than 40 years, for me my favorite is the X-T5. Why? I started to use X gear with the X-T1 in 2014 and moved to the X-T5 in 2022 as soon as it came out. For me, it was a homecoming to my first Fujica cameras. Small light and easy to use. And I did not have to use a battery grip, which makes the camera heavier than necessary, to extend battery life. I did feel the same way about the optometry dial as you do. Furthermore, I hardly use video and thus my favorite is the X-T5. I can walk around on one battery all day long and take hundreds of pictures without tiring. That is what I wanted since the X-T1 on which I always had the battery grip for said reason.

I think for photography the X3 is great. While they change the dial for the XT4. They also changed the screen added a larger battery and created a camera not just only geared towards photographers but made it versatile and also geared towards people who shoot video, and that also enjoy shooting some crazy angles while shooting photography. I think it’s about user experience and everyone has their own person favorites. For me personally the XT4 was the last great diversified camera Fuji has made. Minus auto focus of course, but the same could be said about all their cameras. 24 to 33 megapixels seems to be the overall sweet spot for cameras and current tech today. I also agree the XT series is the best camera to learn exposure triangle on. It literally helped me learn it in depth and made it so much easier to learn. Can’t help but wonder about the XT6, seems like all their current focus is on lower end cameras. Which all these new phones with ai features and software processing will eventually kill a lot of that lower end market. It’s a money maker for now due to social media like TikTok. Fuji will forever be the camera I learned on but not the camera for professional photography. I think Fuji is best system for new photographers to intermediate ones. Also great for people who want to shoot higher quality stuff but can’t afford full frame cameras and lens. Sorry for the story book comment. Great video and thanks for sharing your favorite. You have most definitely acquired and earned the fuji user respect across the board. You helped me learn a lot over the years for sure. I look forward to your future videos!

My favourite Fujifilm camera depends on what I’m using it for. Best value is definitely X-H1 at the moment. For everyday use, such as family, street and travel I like the X-T5. My current passion is wildlife and macro photography and the X-H2s is superb- the custom modes, 40fps, quicker af, better handling with big lenses, faster cf express cards.

for me it would be the X-H2, it's just so good for the money. fantastic EVF, battery life, IBIS, ergonomics, sensor, cf express, etc etc etc. it's just a great camera. I find the custom dial really good since I shoot with longer lenses and do wildlife photography, being able to swap between fine tuned settings for "birds in flight" vs "stationary birds" just with one dial twist - is a game changer

The X-T3 has been my primary camera since 2020. I use it for wildlife (mostly birds--now with the Fuji 150-600), jazz concerts (with the Nikon 70-200 f2.8 and the Fringer adapter), and general photography. How do I get around the battery problem? I use the Fuji vertical grip, which allows me to run the camera with THREE batteries! I know not everyone likes vertical grips, but I do. I've used them on this camera and others (mostly Nikon) for years.

@@gregboyce360 Yes. The Fringer and the Nikon 70-200 work together very well, but the Fringer and my Nikon-mount Sigma 150-600 don't work well together (which is why I got the Fuji 150-600). Fringer says that's because the Sigma is not a true Nikon product and thus the engineering is probably somewhat different. Did I explain that OK?

Always loved my XT3 - my first Fuji camera....but, when you said the XT5 is $700 more expensive, well, when you take into account the 5th gen processor, the 5th gen 40mp sensor, IBIS, better grip and latest tech all round then that $700 difference isn't that bad at all!!!

I have an M9 but was also looking at Fuji for more bells and whistles (an M9 is basically a film camera that doesn't use film!). I almost think the X-T cameras are too similar to the M9 and that the X-H cameras might make for a different kind of experience (to complement the M9). I do like street photography, though, and the tilt screen is probably better for that. (X-H1 is the only one with the tilt screen in that lineup).

I also have 16/2.8 , 35/1.4 , viltrox 56/1.4 and a fisheye. But I only use zooms for work. The X-T3 is sufficient for everything I do and I don't need to upgrade. I agree so much about the photometry settings on a dial. Have to say my favorite was my first one. It was an X-T1 replacement for my D300 which Nikon had abandoned to the pit of no updates due to lack of corporate interest. The X-T1 was so compact and beautiful. It constantly reminded of an even more elegant version of the short lived Contax RTS. Simple menus. Current is X-T5 when Fuji remembered some of us are not into video.

I bought mine second hand in 2021 and got a huge deal. The xt3 came without even a single scratch, clearly barely used, combined with a 18-55 kitlens, original packaging, SD card and charger. All for ONLY €900.
If I now sell it, I will still make a profit xD.
And it has been a strong camera. Allowed me to grow into more pro features and even filming. It's fast and if you know it's weak points, you can easily move around them.
If only it had IBIS, then I would have bought another one. Oh and recording times are a bit meh. Mine had the known bug of sometimes getting factory reset if it froze or pulled out the battery while it was on. Backing up your settings is crucial for me. But this has been made much more easy lately trough the app... And I can't even remember the last time it happened.
Battery life is sad. But not all that bad for photography. Just get a couple extra. For video I do know it is a pain to have to change frequently, but it's recording times aren't great either way, so you have to pause and interact with the camera anyway, so I don't see why switching a battery is so bad then.
It is a great camera to grow into and I would still recommend it to anyone that is getting more serious about photography or videography!

Of all the Fuji cameras I've had, and I've had quite a few (apart from the last generation), today I would only repurchase the X-T3. At one time it was the best value for money. Plus this camera had ‘that something’. After moving to full frame I also finally appreciated how Fuji has quite a range of tiny and fantastic native lenses. Well, and what Voigtlander is now doing for Fuji is also worth a look. The X-E3 and color skopar 18/2.8 is a really cool option for a pocket EDC.

THANK YOU for bringing up the SD/HDMI output options!! I’ve been so frustrated that all the 5th generation Fuji cameras don’t have that. I even asked the guys at the Fujifilm booth at NAB about it this year, and they didn’t have any idea why that feature dropped off. There was like 3 of them all looking at the new models, searching the menus for it, trying to figure out why it wasn’t there. I’m hoping the higher ups will catch on to how valuable that feature was for us.
My first Fuji was the XT3 which I used for wedding videography (Over the years, I’ve added the XT4, XH2, and XS20 to my lineup), and that feature was my absolute favorite.
I could record the whole wedding in something like Classic Chrome, and output backup files in Flog to the Ninja V. Then in the edit, 99% of my shots were ready to go with almost no color work required, BUT if any shot needed a bit more latitude, I could just pull up the Flog Ninja files and slip those in. It was an awesome workflow, and I miss it so much. Now neither my A-CAM or B-CAM (XH2 and XS20) support that feature.
Here’s hoping that changes in the future 🤞🏻

Hi. So now that you love the XT4, given the chance, you won't trade that to go back to the XT3? I'm contemplating on replacing my XT3 with an XT4 because of IBIS, Classic Neg and a longer shutter life. I don't use the XT3's tilting screen that much so that XT4's flippy screen won't likely be an issue. I'm also just a hobbyist who doesn't use video with their cams.

For me it’s the X-Pro3 (or maybe the X-Pro2). I have an X-T5, and I like it. But I only use it for specific tasks. I started in the Fujifilm system with an X100S and an X-Pro1. Those were the cameras that attracted me to the Fujifilm system. Those were, and their successors are, the cameras that fit my style of photography. Currently I have an X100F, X-Pto3 and X-T5. I had an X-T3, and I understand why you like it. It was a very impressive camera. Video is not important to me. So those features don’t really come into my decision on acquiring a camera. I don’t really get why everyone bitches about the battery in the older cameras. I have never used more than one battery in a day. I always have a spare in my pocket, but rarely use it. I guess I’m just more efficient with my usage. Or maybe it’s just because I don’t shoot video.

Another great thing about the X-T3 from a still-photo perspective is the amazing X-Trans III sensor, the same one found on the legendary X-Pro2. I recently bought an X-E3 (same X-Trans III sensor), and IMO, it achieves the most film-like quality one can hope for in a mirrorless camera.

@@jeroenk72Hi. Can anyone here provide proof as to why many say that the XT3's better built than the XT4? What are the XT4's components that are considered inferior? The dials? The top and bottom plates? The magnesium-alloy body? The LCD construction? The paint job? The flapping accessory doors (does it fall off or deteriorate over time)? The battery doors falling off? I'm asking as someone who's curious because just recently there was someone who posted at Reddit that her house burned that took all her camera collection except for the XT5 which was still functioning.
