Landscape photography Glencoe / Scotland.

- In this video I'm up Beinn a'Chrùlaiste looking into Glencoe in Scotland.
It is a stunning and dramatic location, ideal for landscape photography, especially for an overnight camping adventure. It was a bitterly cold winter night but there was almost no wind and the frozen glen was looking stunning with snow on the mountain tops.
Camping Equipment:
A lightweight tent, sleeping bag, and mat are essential for comfort and warmth. Temperatures can drop sharply, even in the summer, so make sure to bring appropriate clothing.
Headlamp or flashlight for navigating in the dark.
Safety Considerations:
Glencoe is a remote and sometimes challenging area, especially in winter or bad weather, so be prepared for the conditions. Bring a map, compass, and potentially a GPS device.
Always check the weather forecast, including the mountain forecast MWIS and (if there's snow on the mountains) the avalanche forecast, as the weather can change rapidly, especially in the mountains.
Sunset to Sunrise Photography: If you're keen on capturing both sunset and sunrise, plan your camp in a location that allows easy access to both views. The area's lighting changes dramatically, and having the flexibility to move to the best spots during these times is a great advantage.

stunning images again Cliff..always worth the cold temps to get those shots ..I was camped on An t-Sron looking over to Coire Nam Beith a cpl weeks ago when it got down to -16 but always worth the effort ...great video and look fwd to your next 1 📸👌
@@BrianWelshPhotography oh! I’ve done that camp, it’s a stunning view. Great for sunsets in the summer. Never done it in the winter though, you’re made of steel.
Thank you Brian for the very kind comment.
Back soon in the highlands. 👍
Looked amazing Cliff. I ended up going to Assynt and it was low cloud. I was going to come home via Glencoe but my mattress had burst and I just headed down the A9 instead.
@@dsneds555 Thanks 🙏 Assynt and Glencoe are my besties for locations, shame about the mattress, had a few go myself. There’s always another day and the mountains will always be there. I’ve failed many times on my journeys, come away with nothing sometimes due to weather. Stay safe, stay lucky 🍀
Hi Cliff. I was there last November doing astro photography. The Milky Way was superb. It was a bitterly cold night and after that experience I went out to buy a 4 season tent and a new Mountain Snowline sleeping bag. Sometimes you have to suffer for your art!
@@ColinMatheson-j6o The hardest part is getting out of the Sleeping bag..😂😂😂
Indeed Colin it’s an excellent location for Astro, it’s a shame I had the moon out on my shoot, next time I will plan it better. As for Astro I’m definitely moving into it. A few for the future. 👍
A great video Cliff with beautiful images. I sometimes wish however that you would show the images at the end of each section where you have done your photography. It would help to break up the talking and explanations a bit, put them into context and show exactly what you were talking about. With them all being at the end I find I sometimes forget the specifics of what you were doing at that particular moment. Keep up the great work👍👍
@@r2drone227 point noted Pal. Might throw some in next Vlog. Thanks for the very kind comment 🙏 back in the highlands soon.
Great video, Cliff. would love to know how you time your visits to Glencoe,,, I'm only 2-3 hours away, but never seem to manage an accurate prediction for the ideal forecast...

Joking aside half of it is just doing a weather check on Mwis, (mountain weather forecast)
Believe me I’ve done a few mountains one which I’ve vlogged(sron larig, Glencoe) and it turned out cloudy ☁️ when it was supposed to be sunshine.
80% of the time it’s harsh weather the other is luck. That’s why I say just get out there..
Thank you for the very kind comment..C.👍
