    (Video is sped up 2x)
In this video we will replace the battery in the Kindle Oasis 8th Generation Battery Cover. The repair is not an easy repair, and it is very easy to damage the cover when attempting to disassemble it. We used Original Gorilla Glue to glue the cover back together when we were done replacing the battery. We have tried other types of glue for this, and the Original Gorilla Glue works the best. Since the Original Gorilla Glue expands up to 3x, you have to be careful not to use too much, or have it too close to the edge. As you can see at the end of the video, we used too much in one spot, and it seeped out the edge.
Aside from that, the repair was a success, and we had a fully functional battery cover at the end.

This is a much needed guide, but be warned this was as hard a repair as I've attempted. Getting that cover off is a pain. You might consider trying some heat to soften all the adhesive off. Thank you for this guide!

So It seems that the major effort was spent to remove the glue, I would suggest to use the hair dryer to heat up the body for easier removing.

Thanks for the suggestion. We have tried that, and it did not make it easier, as the glue they used isn't really affected by heat.

I miss my 8th gen Oasis. It stopped working last year, stuck on the critical battery screen with the backlight never turning off unless it died. I replaced the battery and it did nothing. I tried to play around with it again today, and I noticed one of the pins on the motherboard were unplugged. I plugged it back in and the backlight finally turned off, but unfortunately still stuck on the critical battery screen. The battery light is still orange after charging for hours, and it blinks 4 times when I hold the power button down for 10 seconds. I wish I knew how to repair it, or what parts need to be replaced.

This is brilliant. Did it take a few tries for you to perfect this technique?
