James' rhythm guitar work during the solo is brutal! One of their best thrashers easily🤘
Harder than the solo lol
@@Walamonga1313 The solo didn't need to be hard. The harmonized part is particularly awesome just in general. Still, though, James is a freaking madman with some of the riffs on this song.
Josh Smith I mean that James’ rhythm work is harder than Kirk’s solo. And yeah solos don’t need to be hard but in most songs, during a lead break the rhythm is easier to play and it’s not the case here. Also, the harmonized section was written and performed by James if you didn’t know. No wonder why he is the mastermind behind Metallica.
@@Walamonga1313 I know what you meant and I know the playing arrangement. I've just heard people use that as a way to try to ridicule a song as if it makes any sense. I once read a comment by a guy where he tried to defend the original lyrics to "Mechanix" so he had something to bitch about in Metallica's changing(Definitely glad they were changed myself. He is one of the masterminds(with Lars) but Kirk actually wrote quite a few of their most well-known riffs as well. They've always had a rather open creative process in what to do with the ideas of different members. Lars wrote the RTL intro even. I'm not being negative about what you said or anything like that.
i always say this. no one ever brings up the rhythm on the solo. Brutal thrash at its finest
80s Metallica is sacred if you don't like anything past that then whatever who cares but 80s Tallica is life!
Metal Militia :)
I prefer Megadeth, but Metallica is a close second.
the new album is the best sence black album in my humble opinion ^^ but yea Metallica world Wide Family is bae XD
ALL Metallica is great.....except St. Anger.
St.Anger works live because shit production.
First Metallica song I ever heard way back in 1984. I used to hide my boom box in my book bag and crank this is the boys locker room at school and horrify those that listened to wham and boy George LOL
Ed Cummings any guys who listen to Wham or Boy George, shouldn't be in the boys locker room lol. Reminds me of the movie Once Bitten, "Queers in the shower" lmao
My introduction to Metallica was Master of Puppets in 85. My hypocrite Christian father just about shit his pants. He told me I was going to hell for listening to it. Little did he know i'm going to hell for much, much worse. Lol
Dennis Cooke 😂
Ditto! I remember getting this record along with Motley Crue. I put Motley Crue first on my turntable, and was 'Meh...'. Rock music press in then Yugoslavia put Metallica, Motley Crue and WASP in the same box, as 'new wave of US metal' and after that Motley Crue fiasco, I was all down... Then I put 'Ride The Lightning', with absolutely no expectation and the first chords of 'Fight Fire...' just blew me away! From that moment on, I was hooked on extreme metal!
Boy, I'm old...
I like wham and boy George! Lol!
This song is full energy from beggining to end. I just learned how to play the solo.proud of myself haha.
Matheus Ventura so have I........veeeeeeerrrrrrry slowly of course....VEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRY SSSSSSLLLLLLLLLLLOWLY...
Well done dude 👌 respect
good job guys! Ima start learnin how to play this song soon
God I love MetallicA w/ Cliff on bass! RIP forever Mr. Burton
That at the end was not thunder, that was nuclear explosion. About time period both fight fire with fire and Sleeping in the fire were released in the same year 1984
If Nuclear explosions are your thing try having a smoke and listening to the first track on Hawkwind's ' Hall of the Mountain Grill'.
I literally just got out of the shower and put on my Ride the Lightning t shirt and you guys hit me with this!!! What a coincidence! Thanx y'all!
We’re all aligning !
2:46 Hetfield is THE riff-god. Period.
Not better than slayer....
@@Wasp155 Better.
@@coldvoid no way !!!! Slayer gods of riff... angel of death... world painted blood.. metal storm.... black magic... postmortem...😇😇😇😇
Now you need to do "the call of ktulu" the instrumental of this album, if you were amazed by Orión, that one will take your brain out of your head
David Gómez should do “To Live is to Die “instead. Way more emotional
David Gómez I agree, Call of Ktulu.
Now that's a song for my cat. Cuz she likes too bully me. LOL jk.
To Live is To Die > Orion > Call of Ktulu
Ktulu is awesome. And the same riff was used fastened up on MegaDave`s Hangar 18.
I screamed when I see the notification, thank you a lot Sori and Vin
Thank you! Emma will be so excited. I was subscriber #70. Bonus...love the heavier faster songs from Metallica!
Slayer- Dead Skin Mask!
I covered it, if ur bored? Couple mistakes where I'm trying to figure it out and buzzed /w\ 3in1 night/w\
ua-cam.com/video/1dZgLEovP9Y/v-deo.html
Personally my favorite slayer song
Seek and Destroy and Season's in the Abyss on the same night! Buzzed, one take, figuring it out jam!
It has been way too long since I have listened to this song! Thanks for the trip down memory lane! I feel like I need to go call some of my old friends and see how they are doing, lol!
Its been a good minute for me as well lol
VIN PINKY UP WHEN YOU DRINK YOUR TEA YOU BARBARIAN
Hahaha
U guys shock and impress me every single day! 51k guys!! Congrats....u all deserve so much more!!
Thank you !
VinAnd Sori you're very welcome!
It's about the dangers of nuclear warfare/escalation. It's even in the song "Nuclear warfare shall lay us to rest". Fight fire with fire is saying "Oh you launched missiles at me I'll launch them at you". In fact the sound effect at the end is a nuclear detonation.
Metallica - Bleeding Me!!
Ayeew Tasko the S&M version
Daniel Rodriguez The Woodstock version is excellent. James' emotions spilt all over the stage that day. And yes... listening to the studio recording first is best to get the gist of the track.
Cliff Burton's classical intro to this song is so gorgeous.
I love seeing vin jambing! your reactions are amazing but I feel for vin when a song hits home for him... the positive vibe of heavy metal is mentally strengthening and is my medicine. I am prescribed to you two!
Great reactions. I love that you dig this early thrash. Also the way you kind of mimicked the dainty English tea party at the beggining cracked me up because I ALWAYS think that.
Great reaction guys!!! I have a policy on how I subscribe to reactions channels who react to Metallica : I only subscribe if you listen to three specific songs. Disposable Heroes (Done), Four Horsemen (Done), and Dyers Eve (NOT DONE)!!!! You guys are missing out so much on this song. Please react to it and have a nice day
Mr. Obvious yea dyers eve might just be my favorite metallica song
Good song. Next time maybe check out the title track for Ride The Lightning. Metallica's got some excellent material, but for me....Ride The Lightning will ALWAYS be my go-to CD.
Big Beige Bastard, I only count 3 others. Puppets, Kill em All and Justice.
Respect, Vin! Air drumming, air guitarr, mouth texting - spot on!
Maximum respect for you Vin !!! you ruleeee !!
Time for you to check out some German thrash, you won't regret it!
Sodom - Nuclear Winter
Kreator - World War Now
Destruction - Under Attack
David Asthar Adding Tankard "Die With a beer in your hand"
yes. I'm not as versed in sodom by comparison, but I've enjoyed/listened to most kreator and destruction albums/songs.
Tankard!!!!!!
David Asthar all way better than metallica
I think you should listen to "Sweating Bullets" - Megadeth or "Shewolf". Im so in love with your channel, you guys are amazing
Love you two! The best!
Sori, your reaction when the power chords enter the tent at the beginning is legendary 🤘 keep up the good work guys! You’re creating a really entertains service. Many thanks 🙏xxx
Appreciate you my man !
..............please do Metallica’s ‘Dyers Eve’, you’ll fu*#ing absolutely love it
Thank YOU
I’ve been slowly getting into these reaction vids that have been taking over UA-cam, and can I take this opportunity to say, your twos reaction are my true favourites. I have been a huge Metallica fan for the past 4 decades and love when I see ‘new’ people appreciating their reason for being The top metal band in our history. All the very best to you both, genuinely 😘
Oh, and Vin? Your energy and air guitar is second to none 🤘
I'm really enjoying your videos. Definitely one of my favorite reaction channels on UA-cam. Can't wait for you guys to react to Ride the lightning.
You gotta do ride the lightning! The solo is one of the best but the whole song is amazing.
Great job guys
Great song pick !!! Love you guys..
React to metallica - Dyers eve
I want to see this.
They did and I think they missed the genius of it. To each his own.
Do Megadeth-Dystopia😍
This is why I come to your channel. Your reaction to music. Fell in love with you guys 4 months ago. Music only please. :)
The first time I heard this song I thought my skins was going to fall off with how intense the goose bumps were. This is one of my favorite Metallica songs from the second it drops in it's a non-stop roller coaster.
Now your talking. :) Yeah! Does not matter for me which day you do the Metallica Monday, as long as you do it... HEHEHEHE! :)
Great breakdown. You should listen to another Death song, Open casket would be perfect, i think you'd both love it.
this is a damn good song
Great song one of My favorites... Thanks for this guys...
This song is pure energy. Look at Vin. Love it!
Thanks for reacting my first song I listened to. I was 13 years old it was amazing, great song and thanks to a friend for lending me his cassette. I am from Ecuador at that time I didn’t understand a word because my language is spanish but anyway I love that song and their music since then I have been listening to Metallica🤘🤘. Thank you both for reacting. Rock on you guys! ✌️🤟
If you guys want another thrash song, try Brainwashed by Nuclear Assault!!
Every time Sori gets excited about Metallica it makes me so happy. Like, do a happy dance happy.
Great work dissolving that situation. Role models right there.
RIP metallica 1991 , Afterwards the poptallica Downtrod, that being said , 80s Metallica is a True everlasting definition Of what Real Metal is was and should always be
Vin is on 🔥🤟🔥
Dj Vianu 🤘*
I love watching your reactions to songs especially Metallica ones, keep up the great work guys!
Classic! I listened to this song a lot when I was about thirteen.
So, I had a dream yesterday. A strange elderly man walked into my house and said " vin and sori need to do more Machine head" I then agreed with him and woke up. Twas a strange dream indeed.
Halo - Machine head
METALLICA ALL WEEK!!!!!!!!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I have never clicked a thumb so fast. This song is crazy and I love it.
I remember waiting for this album
being released in August 20th ( at least that's when it became available in HMV from Glasgow, Scotland).
When i heard this track it was an Epiphany for me. Opening with Harpsichord notes to contrast the storm to follow and Hetfields' brutal assault with tuned down distortion and the rolling thunder of the rythym section. Blissful for those of us who never quite liked 'regular heavy metal and fries'.
EPICA - Consign to Oblivion (Live at Zenith)
It's sad that in this day and age this garbage of racism still exist. I live in Napa Ca and we' re very blessed to not have stuff like these events happen. Vin you're a very brave man I must say. Jesus is the Lion of Judah and Vin is the lion of the Bronx. Praying for you guys for protection and Bleeding Me from Metallica would be sweet. Peace
Appreciate that my guy !
This song is the reason I'm a metal head!!!! You guys are awesome btw
I saw this song last year in San Antonio and it was amazing 🤘🏼🔥🔥🔥
Do the Small Hours- Metallica!
Carach angren - the funerary dirge of a violinist (lost track of how many times I have requested) 😂
Saw this live. Energy bomb!
The song that started it all for me. Heard this for the first when I was about 12. Completely changed my life.
To Live Is To Die next pls ... :)
Megadeth - Good Mourning Black Friday
Megadeth - Looking Down The Cross
Hell yeah man!
Last rites/loved to deth. That song is just batshit crazy from start to end
First heard this when I was 11. Changed my life!!! Been metal ever since!!
When I saw Metallica on May 19th 2017 at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA they played this song. It is awesome live! It also was my 19th time seeing them live.
If ever you feel like doing an instrumental, do To Live is to Die por favor
PLEASE DO “DYER’S EVE - METALLICA” Pleeeease!!!!
dude i listened to ur story...u are a hero..shit...my hero
That was fire at the end ;-)
Dissection - Night's Blood
Ride The Lightning next, naturally.
Greatest thrash song of ride the lightning hands down. Watching the reaction videos when your channel first started I could see that Sori wasn’t into it and I knew it was because her metal ear wasn’t tuned yet. Her ear is tuned now. Much like my ear was never tuned for bands like Nightwish because I didn’t roll like that in the past but watching this channel has tuned my ear to it. Now I actually like Nightwish and other bands that you guys cover because of your reactions. I’m sure this is the same for many of the villagers as well. It’s been a fun journey watching you guys build up this channel to what it has become today. I’m just glad I found it and will continue support you guys. 🤘🏻🤘🏻Metallica 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Now we're talking.
Well done!
Metallica Thursday 🤘💀🤘
Sepultura - desperate cry!! Please!
Love how Vin is always playing solo instead of riff :D
I remember hearing this for the first time back in the day. Was driving my buddies around and one of the popped this in the tape deck. Up to this point I was only really familiar with Ozzy, Maiden, Scorpions....that kind of thing. These guys went to eleven! And there was much head banging in that car, let me tell ya!
Iced Earth - Dante's Inferno
Good choice. Almost as good as if you reacted to BLIND GUARDIAN :p Bards Song/Valhalla live at Wacken2016
aaronstallard blind guardian is complete shit, no respectable metal head listens to power metal. ..
This BS attitude doesn't fly around here mate.
Also I missed your request....... What were you wanting to hear???
Rather than insult me for the music I like how about just ask for your own choice to be heard. I am sure it's at least better than nickleback :)
Also, I am glad the people that pick the Wacken line up disagree cause BLIND GUARDIAN will probably be there if you ever go :p
LeBron Colbaugh wow, mate. Calm down... Metal is diverse, and clearly 1) you'll do well to realize that, and 2)power metal isn't for you, and that is fine (just like Grindcore isn't for me) ☝️😉
The best part about this song is the stillness int he pause. The drums are still going, you are still soaring, and then the clash of guitars comes back in and everything is back to hell. So good.
This and Trapped under Ice is undoubtedly the heaviest this band has ever pushed it. How I wish I could hear it again for the first time. Cool channel guys.
Ride The Lightning..!!
You have to do DAMAGE INC. next
Love this song
i love the colour of your guitar
(day 2) Iron Maiden-Phantom of the Opera
Live After Death version....
No, The point is to react to a song with Paul Dianno singing. Live at the Rainbow has a version that is up on UA-cam
Such a badass song! Surprised you guys havent done Bell Tolls yet... anyways Trivium shogun #7
ua-cam.com/video/kZdo8FHC7Sw/v-deo.html
they did homie
Oh ya I totally forgot I remember now! Sorry just forgot
That was such an awesome story y'all told of the conflict. I never lived in that kind of environment so its interesting to hear the story.
Ya it was pretty crazy
every time the bass drops I am super PUMPED!
SATYRICON - MOTHER NORTH
Katatonia - Leaders
Love that beginning guitar intro. Then hits YOU like a ton of bricks love this SONG. This whole album kicks ass
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
My favorite Metallica song!!!
I even remember when I listened to this for the first time - September 30th, 2002!
*cough cough* burzum *cough cough* you guys should check out A Fine Day to Die by Bathory. Also Quintessence by Darkthrone
J Proffitt I'm sure they'll just fall in absolute love with Burzum rofl
j I was The one who Said a burzum Song is coming, because im a Part of The village aswell as The alliance (ihearthingsshh). The reason that reaction hasnt happened yet is because Vin hasnt decided a date yet, but im sure they Will soon figure a date for when to React with The villager Alec :)
Does Varg Vikernes even like Burzum at this point? Last I saw he was imploring people to put down their guitars and become white supremacist doomsday preppers
GondarionGood yeah ik i just feel the need to harass them about it
Dean Smith yeah i dont expect them to like it hopefully more than they liked mayhem though
Death - Philosopher!!!!
First time reaction, and he already knows the lyrics.
Maybe because the lyrics are on the screen?
Love the look on Sori's face..80's metallica does that to folks. Classic stuff.
My favorite Metallica song
same. Just the BEST.
I've got about 50 - 60 fav Metallica songs..greatest ever.
More pantera plz
The Jester ....FOR REAL!!!!!!!! ☺
Yes!
Ride the Lightning was my first Metallica album. Always loved the intro to this song. Probably my 2nd favorite song off the record behind Fade to Black. Looking forward to you guys getting to Blackened off the and Justice for All album. Similar vibe.
That village photo was in Chicago. United center is where the Black Hawks play (hockey)
