Quick correction about the countdown timer: When you’re racing in a regatta you are not allowed to cross the start line until the countdown reaches zero. The committee boat will signal when there is 10 minutes until go. Your goal is to position your boat so you are sailing at full speed and crossing the start line at exactly 0. (difficult to do on a sail boat) That’s when the countdown timer comes in. It helps in making sure you don’t cross the line too early and get disqualified or too late adding time to your overall score

I think it may just be my next Rolex. So for all of you hating on the YM II, give it time, one day you might just wake up and want to buy one!

Just look on the grey market and the price tells you how hard it is to get this watch. Below or close to retai lmeans its easy
An in-house movement makes it more desirable not more durable. The Daytona was essentially a zenith el primaro a long time ago. JLC used to make movements for the holy trinity
The wisers are gold in the new model, a big mistake,you can hardly see the time, the old model had blue wisers , that was perfect. Am i the only one on this planet with this problem? Btw i love this model, i am happy to own the Yachtmaster ll , the nicest model in the Rolex serie.
Good vid, and congrats on a great watch. But my understanding from friends that race is the 10 minute countdown is specifically for the start of the race, to try to get as close to the line as possible. The race is usually won at the start. Regardless, great watch!
