You don’t need to be a millionaire to buy any of these pieces. I graduated in 2004 and have been working in the IT sector for just over 20 years. I earn less than $95,000 a year. I own two Rolexes, a Tag Heuer, a Breitling, an Omega and I recently added an Audemars Piguet to my collection. I bought the first one in 2008, only two of them were brand new and only one of them cost over $20,000. You don’t have to earn six figures to afford a nice watch collection. Work hard, save and it’s easier than you think.
I always look forward to your recommendations. A few years ago, I bought a Rolex Seadweller Black Dial Vintage 1665 in Switzerland. It was the perfect size for me and had an entirely self-winding movement, which I found better than the Submariner. Now, I'm curious to see how much it's worth today. I'm planning to do some research and might make a profit from it.
Great that will fetch you some cash. *I used to be a collector, but I liquidated my collection to venture into real estate. In January, I acquired homes in Malibu for $32million, and the returns on investment far exceed what I earned as a collector.
How did you grow your portfolio to $32m, I'm impressed, I have a lump sum in the bank, the rates are not impressive so I'm moving it, what's your cash flow like?
I have a financial advisor (trader) she grows my liquid assets and I reinvest the weekly payouts back into real estate and long-term ETFs like VOO and SCHD. I have also started acquiring some tech ETFs, including IITU and IUCM.
Love that Kevin relates memorable moments with watches. I can definitely relate b/c I do the same thing and makes the timepiece that much more special.
Great to see a Brazilian like me with this kind of success in the US, its impressive the level of content you create! I see your videos since you were playing Call of Duty with gameplays in portuguese...
I was surprised to hear that too. Not in the sense that he "needs to know French". But for a watch guy, he should at least know how to pronounce it right.
Alex!! You've outdone yourself again! Thank you for this amazing content and colab with Mr.Wonderful. This video really helped put context or perspective around a market that is for the most part unattainable for a lot of young men of this generation but is realistically reachable if they apply themselves.
The nomos Lux is the real winner for mechanical watches in that first category. The level of finishing for the price, is unparalleled. Fully in house, including escapment. Anglage on the screw sinks, blued screws, a movement made for the watch, hand engraved balance bridge with a swan neck regulator. Its just a killer.

Kevin loved the Tissot PRX, that’s a great “luxury” piece. I’d wear a Casio Edifice personally for business and an active everyday lifestyle piece. 👌🏼 Dive watches are cool and versatile as well, Tudor, Phoibos, Citizen, and even cheaper Chinese Microbrand homages from San Martin, Steeldive ect. For a vacation watch these Chinese microbrand watches make even more sense, reliable, cheap, elegant, and an expensive watch in a third world country… I’d almost say either a cheap dive watch under $200, or really inexpensive field watch will make you look killer. Or just stick with Casio and Cartier. Couple Casio Edifices for daily wear, EFR, EFB, and an Oceanus S100, S200, and a Cartier of your choice when you really need that exquisite luxury piece. Godtier.
got my 39mm with the white dial on the 3-link "Bader" bracelet watch on MaMaCoo 3 weeks ago and am loving it to pieces. Absolute fantastic watch that wears super comfortable on my 6.75 inch wrist. Chose the 3-link over the 5-link bracelet for the toolless quick adjustment. Way more comfortable than my Longines Hydroconquest 41 mm.
Different from your normal content. Awesome switch up with Mr. Wonderful! Dudes a gentleman and aligns with your channel but also has different taste which is cool to see. Great video man!
A Dornbluth and son using a Unitas small seconds with well sculpted movement as a start off point is one to consider. But, you have to wait for a year for the handbuilt watch to be done being made. One of them costs about $4500 (euro?). It's very eye appealing. Cal. 99.1
I got suckered into this watch rabbit hole and almost picked up a rolex, explorer 2, and I am happy I did not since my first was a Longines Spirit Zulu Auto. Sadly I get the dial, craftsmanship but I miss the hourly chime, set it and forget it of my MRGB5000D-1. I will keep the Spirit as a weekend watch, but pass on the rest, realized I like function over form
In a past Kevin Oleary video where he is the guest and chose the watches, he picked the interesting choices. They were affordable, and others were within reach. Among the selections was kuoe, but was passed over for a very unique brand.
In my opinion Longines is THE best starter luxury watch company. You can get a second hand Conquest quartz for 500ish, a second hand automatic watch for 1000 and can make it as crazy and go up to thousands of euro's/dollars!
It's not a good look. Imagine walking into a business meeting and seeing someone dressed like a vampire while wearing a red banded watch on each hand. It's tacky and makes it look like he's trying way too hard.
Lol!! Every time I see Kevin speak about watches, it cracks me up. Yes, he has the money to buy whichever one he wants, but the dude doesn't really know much about watches. Teddy basically has taught him what he knows today. Before Teddy, Kevin was just a rich guy who bought watches. Now he knows a little bit more, but not much. Lol
Absolutely right!! I have seen some collab videos of Kevin with Teddy on afforadable watches, where Teddy does most of the talking about the technicalities and he just sits there clueless and says some 2-3 words in repetition about the dial and value for money etc….also Teddy does a better video than Alex can on watches.
Thank you Alex. this was very enjoyable & informative!! Kevin O'Leary is the ultimate watch collecting aficionado.. watching this made me "hungry" to start watch shopping. After all, there is a thin line in watch collecting: between addiction vs collecting hobby.. :).
He should have picked the Tudor , the Catier is a good option but I prefer a Santos with white dial , for no budget i'll go for a Rolex , High end Tag Heuer , AP or even better a Patek ..or maybe another Tudor
7:17 Thank you Alex to introduce us this gentleman. He really thinks about low-income people, especially in Third World countries. I will follow him. This is the man we want
I've recently began my obsession as a watch collector. And i must say- out of all the luxury brands I've been researching, for me the amzwatch's watches are the most intriguing.
It really does sound like he is saying that the company was established in the US. I hope that he was trying to say that JLC has an established presence in the US market. Surely he doesn't think that a watch company with a French name is likely to be an American company.
I absolutely love watches, the high end watch brands are out of my budget but the amzwatch has literally an almost duplicate of every single watch on the market . Always a great but no matter your budget.
I would practice the names of the watch makers before I shot a video. No one expects his French to be perfect, but being that far off the mark suggests that he is lacking expertise. He would have been better off referring to the brand as JLC.
I'm happy for anybody who like me loves watches but it's amazing how easy it is to spot a person who knows nothing about watches or horology and many make the mistake of thinking that if you like watches you like horology ......nah spotting the obvious does not make an expert
He actually said that JLC is established in the US. I hope that he meant to say that JLC has an established presence in the US and not that they were founded here. But, base on his pronunciation of the brand's name, maybe not.
Buy three Baltic watches and invest the money you save. Their watch designs are better than any of the nine watches profiled here, although the Tudor is nice.

It’s fine great vid tho
Props to Kevin for knowing so much about more affordable watches like Longines and Baume&Mercier...seems like time spent with Teddy is paying off ;)
Alex collabed with Kevin before the release of gta 6
Nico is gonna enjoy this
😂
Same thought 😂
There was nothing stupid said in this video. Why do you think he would enjoy this?
The Cartier Santos and Girard-Perregaux were both really good picks. Cartier Santos at around 5k is killer.

now we need a crossover with Teddy

Teddy baldassarre? Would love to see courtney there too

I'm pretty sure his wife isn't as into watches as he is 😂

Been following you since a long time Alex! Happy to see your success man! Much support! ❤
A lot of these watches are beautiful, though personally I love a minimalistic look, like the Parmigiani Fleurier, great video Alex!
Kevin is the last guy id go for watch shopping advice
We want a updated watch collection
Hey Alex! Thank you for having Mr. O'Leary on the channel. He is a supreme collector. Great guest!
I'm surprised Kevin didn't pick any Grand Seikos for entry-level watches.
Same. I was expecting $1000+ watches for entry lol.
Or SEIKO spring drive,FTM.
I like Kevin but the black and red combo always looks like a prom outfit

That Nomos has to be the best pic of them all! What a classy watch! Simple dial but so elegant! Great choice!

When it comes to fine imitation watches, amzwatch delivers. I've bought from them several times, and I've never been let down.
