    John seems like a way better teacher than Gabe or Aaron. No yelling, no weirdness - just solid pieces of advice for every mistake.

      It´s super cringey, though. Plus a lot of kids are looking for actual advice on tricks here. I feel like they get more out of this than any of Gabe´s videos.

    What I love about these is Lance goes through the same commitment/confidence issues I did. Feels good when he breaks through his own barriers.

  • @minitron8476

    I think Lance's issue is that he rolls too slow for tricks.

    • @Thunderduck
      @Thunderduck 8 років тому +17

      I think that too because everyone has a little problem with commitment I think, but for me I do tricks really fast if possible because it makes it easier

      Yeah lance really just needs to do step one of sms which is practicing riding for a while to get really comfortable going fast and just practice in general like everyday

      +Dieter Thamm I mean really.. obv I've tried boardslides on ultra slo-mo like Lance. Then you notice you get stuck.. so you do it with more speed, because it's easier :/ nd what's up with his angle. Aaron corrected him 10000000000 times on this. Ollie, turn, slide.. He just basically comes up 90 deg, slaps his board on and prays he doesn't clip his head on the bar.
      The way he is doing them is so much more dangerous than with a little bit more speed and a proper angle.

      how does one start skating when they're just starting to get over really bad social anxiety and dont know how to make friends? and where would i practice skating? i've been a shut-in gamer till i found this channel lol, ever since i found the channel i've been exercising and getting in shape to become a good skater, but there's only one skate park near me and it's a town away, i'm only asking so that once the snow melts here and i get my board i can go practice lol, i have a decently big driveway but it's got alot of small bumps on it.. im a 17 year old shut-in with social anxiety that's been exercising for about a week or 2 and that doesnt know how to make friends, but i love skating so any advice and tips would be awesome~

    I think lance should try to learn things on his own more. The lack of spoon-feeding will make him mature as a skater faster. It also helps build confidence realizing that you don't always need someone telling you exactly what to do.

    correct me if im wrong but rolling fakie or not, this is a fakie lipslide because the tail end is going up and over the rail.

      +PApro You are correct.

    • @diariodeunimpostor04
      @diariodeunimpostor04 8 років тому +1

      Yeap i agree with you, it would be a fakir boardslide if he did the fakie ollie motion straight to the rail, no the halfcab motion

    • @Daniel-oz5dm
      @Daniel-oz5dm 8 років тому +1

      Yeh it's definitely a lip slide, technically it'd be a switch nollie frontside lipslide but fakie lip is good enough. A halfcab boardslide would be a fakie 270 onto it ending up in a day boardslide

    • @sinfox619
      @sinfox619 8 років тому +9

      You guys are wrong it's called half cab boardslide

    • @KratosMayhem
      @KratosMayhem 8 років тому

      I would think it's a Fakie Boardslide because he's just putting his front truck over the rail while rolling backwards.Technically because he's rolling Fakie the truck thats in the front facing towards the end of the rail is still his back truck and the truck in the back facing away from the end of the rail is still his front truck.So when Lance does half of a Halfcab onto the rail the truck thats in the back which is technically his front truck because he's going Fakie is going over the rail making it a Boardslide.John is regs so if he was to do half of a Nollie FS180 onto the same side of the rail Lance is on it would be a Nollie Lipslide because in Nollie your going forward so it would be Johns back truck going over the rail where as since Lance is goofy doing it Fakie its a Boardslide because his front truck is going over.

    Clipping the last 4 inches of a rail is not a slide. That's a bonk or a bash, not a slide. A slide includes holding your balance sliding over a distance. I think about 2 feet of distance is a slide or grind to me, not a swipe.

    Any slower and he won't do a board slide, but a board snap breaking the board clean in two. No hating, I'm well aware this stuff isn't as easy as it looks when an intermediate to advanced skater does it.
