At the end, you also should have mentioned reliability, warranty, and maintenance costs. Genesis beats all German makes on those. I'm dumping my X5 for the 2025 GV80 primarily for those reasons.

Long time no see Ben! I was able to test the GV70 and the G70 super luxurious and I don’t think as a whole they would run into longevity issues.

I saw one the other day on the road and couldn’t stop looking. It’s a real beauty but not sure it comes close to german engineering on performance.

Most pickups have 270 horsepower but this car has 380 horsepower. So it make sense it drinks more fuel than a pickup truck

Genesis does make a few good looking vehicles.
I just can’t get over the Hyundai roots it has.
I also don’t like the blatant copy of the Bentley logo and the copy of Breitling watch logos.
Any logo with wings belongs to Breitling watches, Bentley automobiles, and maybe a few other distinct brands.
Genesis needs to mark their own path as they make some sharp vehicles.
Bring back the V8!

It’s a nice car but the engine is a dinosaur. The V6 that Hyundai makes is meh at best. If you want a 6 banger than the Germans are the way to go. The inline 6 in the bmw B58 is one of the best engines ever made.
Sure price is much lower, but if you are spending 85-95k on a vehicle then it’s a no brainer to pick a German car.

Also, not all “trim” is created equal so when it’s genuine leather it should be noted as such. Same with suede / alcantara. If you’re going to review luxury vehicles it matters to buyers what materials are actually used. You can call it all “soft touch” but it’s a child’s way of describing a car’s interior.
Lastly, luxury / performance vehicles should not be driven like minivans. Put your foot down. Maybe drive longer than 2 minutes each time too.
I don’t know how or why your videos have so many views.
This has been pretty critical, and I don’t feel good about that. I did, however, just save a bunch of money by buying a Genesis instead of a BMW or Mercedes. You may be able to get one of them or even a Porsche Macan for a similar price, but you’ll never ever get all the features and amenities you want them to have without spending $20k-$30k more than you will with a Genesis.

My personal opinion is those vehicles (Genesis) Not a real luxury car at all from my perspective
only great as rentals from the airport etc. Never should be sold through a dealership
they can’t withstand true longevity and reliability after a year of ownership. I’ve seen firsthand how quickly they go downhill. My advice to anyone reading this, go buy yourself a Lexus and save the pain and agony you will endure.
Genesis can only imitate they can never duplicate what a real luxury/ reliable car should be.

@@nateisright Just like a lot of other dealers from any brand, depending on the people that work there. But they are building standalone Genesis dealers.
What I see is Toyota and Lexus going downhill a lot quicker because of their old school designs

It's not though. Different parts from Hyundai not like Lexus that shares parts with Toyota. Yeah genesis shares some parts but not as much as competition. Different chasis Different suspension etc

I think it's the best looking suv out there the others basically look the same i don't like that there is a 20 % premium on them
Besides the fact the engine is trash, the SUV seems nice.
I still think the X5 40i/50e is still better than this. SO much more fuel efficient than this, more quieter, more powerful, sounds better, handles better, easier to use in my opinion, the dealership network is also so much better. The Hyundai dealers treat you like Hyundai customers when buying $80k vehicles. The B58 continues to prove to be reliable and one of, if not the best engines in the modern era. The 3.5TT is nice in this but it just chugs fuel and definitely isn't as smooth as this. I will say the GV80 does have a presence on the road but the X5 is just the one to beat.
Drove a rental 2022 X5 with m package, it was ok, GV80 felt better imo, but I’ll still go for X5 but m60i since the lease is cheap for what it is

X5 feels hallow, less reliable with their electronics and looks like regular road traffic.

@@arlo2203I think it defeats Q7/8, X5, GLE350/450/AMG53 easily, but SQ7/8, X5 m60i and x5/x6m are just better (powertrain, handling), but for daily and road trip, I think GV80 (only prestige and signature) is just perfect. My GLS580 feels like a 3 star hotel compared to a fully loaded GV80 interior material wise
