Discovering New cave in Gower part1

- New caves are there to be discovered if you know where to look. This is a story of 2019-20 exploration of Barns Cave in the centre of the Gower peninsula in South Wales, UK. We hoped it would lead into the huge Llethryd Cave, the entrance of which had become blocked by sediment infill. Part 2 will present a second attempt and the discovery of another new cave, Cockle Pot. Part 3 will show the eventual success in reaching the massive well decorated halls of Llethryd in 2021. The films illustrate the excitement and teamwork that make cave digging so worthwhile.

Excellent job. And the quality of the video underground is brilliant. I'm ashamed to say I managed to lose the Llethridd key one bank holiday weekend in the early 90's. My friend and I were locked in the cave for about 4 hours with the water level rising quickly, , eventually finding the key in the streamway directly below the entrance ruckle. It must've slipped out of my inner velcro'd pocket as I leaned over the boulders, looking for a way down the entrance ruckle. It was a scary experience, as we both knew the cave flooded completely to the roof. We didn't actually make it to the decorated chambers, as we were the first in after a stormy winter and there were many blocked sections, requiring effort to open up. But I did get to the decorations on a later trip.

Is this caving or forcing a route?
The cave passage was continuous but was too tight in short sections so a bit of forcing was required as you have perceived. Definitely a cave not a mine.
At -16:18 You stated that the original entrance became blocked because of flood debris. I watch the entire video and I’m speaking girl from an engineering perspective because that’s what I’ve done all my life in the, “Oil&Gas Industry”, here in America. After 32 years with Halliburton”, as a “Geo-Physical-Engineer”, I can assure you that you put for more work into physically digging out the entrance to that “cavern / tunnel-cave” that we would actually call a cavern. But anyway you put more physical energy out digging it out then if you would’ve hired a backhoe to simply dig out the entrance to the other one.
