Upgrade Cordless Grass Trimmer | Black and Decker TYPE JP01

- I bought this from a Japanese used store for $10. It works normally, but it is very weak, I use it to cut only young grass. I feel it is almost useless, but its resources are usable. I decide to made it a little better by replacing the old motor with a newer one. The result is acceptable, it is stronger than before.
Some information you may want to know
Old Grass Trimmer
Rotation speed 7400/min
No load power is about 50W
550 DC motor 18V
New Grass Trimmer
Rotation speed 8500/min
No load power is about 90W
755 DC motor 18V
I hope you find this video useful and enjoy it!

Hello mister beautiful restoration beautifully restored well done
Glad you enjoyed it!
i have an old B&D strimmer from 1991 which still works fine we dont use it much anymore since we have bought others to replace it which break but that old one still works when it needs to
That is really good, thank for sharing!
The hack with the zip tie to cut grass, very smart !
I am so glad to hear that, thank you!
Perfect restoration
Tie wraps on repeat order! I wonder if the inventor of tie wraps had any idea what he started?
You didn't have a video to show how it worked before, but as someone who owns the same tool I can tell the audience it was a huge upgrade in performance. My trimmer doesn't cut anywhere near that good 👍👍
dude i love these videos, I love upgrading old and new tools! I think a lot more products should be upgradable it would lower landfill waste considerably!
Thank you! It made my day to hear that.
Great job.
I've often wondered, in some of your "motor re-winding" videos why you don't try to get a better motor....
So this time, you got a better motor!!!
Seems easier to me.... And you did a great job of adapting it to fit & work... Very nice. Well done.
Как всегда хорошая работа. Удачи вам в делах
Now that's a trimmer.
Strimmer or Trimmer? I was always told its a strimmer... not sure why?
As Tim Taylor would say....MORE POWER!! **Man Grunt** 😁

Hi, good job. I had once very similar tool but from husqvarna. And was inside brushless motor. Sensored. Unfortunally one magnet in rotor crack, and motor go to trash. New even was to expensive. Even any kind of sensored brushless motor of that size was too expensive to me. And was of course propper driver, so mod for brushed was very hard to do.
What kind of grease you use for plastic gears? Thanks.
So, you had a brushless motor and you replaced it with a brushed one? how is this upgrading? it is more like a downgrading. and you also buried the service opening of the motor so there is a need to disassemble everything to replace a carbon brush
Next time, put a bldc motor 🤩🤩🤩🤩
Yes, that is a great suggestion, thank you!
@@gear_show thankyou!
Hello
Hello
Very interesting! But... Why you're don't upgrade to brushless motor?😮
I want to save on the upgrade
Oooohhhh
why didn't you put on a new trimmer head
Won't the battery drain faster now?
Yes, it will drain faster than before.
Yaptığınız ürünleri türkiyeye satıyor musun?
👍💯
wow
wow 10 dollar so cheaper
Ho Ok
Mine IS not that rusty lol
Hmmmm... never considered zipties before
апарат фуфловый совсем, 60 ватт слишком мало, нужно минимум 200ватт
👍👍😎🍺🍩🗜️🛠️
Why bother?
