- You know when you want something filling and tasty, but you don't have a lot of time or ingredients? This is the perfect solution. A little vegetable, a little carb, and a little protein, in very little time. Pasta, Broccoli, and Sausage.
INGREDIENTS
1 link of turkey sausage (Polish kielbasa works too)
1 large or 2 small heads of broccoli
1 package of gluten-free pasta (your choice)
Oil
Sesame seeds and minced garlic (optional)
Parmesan or Monchego cheese
DIRECTIONS
Empty box of pasta into a pot of water and cook according to the directions on the box. It turned out the GF directions on the Barilla pasta were surprisingly accurate - we cooked it for 8 minutes for perfect pasta. Drain pasta and set aside.
Chop up broccoli into bite sized florets and pieces. Set aside. Slice the turkey sausage into 1/4 inch thick discs. Set aside.
Steam broccoli until done, anywhere from 5 to 7 minutes. Set aside.
In a deep dish pan, add meat and oil, and saute on medium heat for 5-10 minutes. The meat is done when it starts to curl into cups and brown. Add in the broccoli and stir. You may need to add a little oil so the food doesn't burn.
Add pasta and gently stir to combine. Garnish with cheese and serve.
Looks yummy
It was remarkably good with the gluten free pasta. It's a tasty meal anyway, but I'm pleased it worked out with GF pasta.
